Luke was still in his tent, barely awake at all. He heard the chatter and sounds of unpacking outside, but wasn't sure he was up to investigating. After a moment's contemplation, he arose; stepping out of the tent. He rubbed his dark eyes, trying desperately to get the sleep out of them. He yawned and stretched, wishing he'd stayed in bed. He could see others unpacking for sure, and recognized them immediately. He didn't move from his spot; instead diverting his attention to the others of his group who were already awake. He smiled sleepily at them, stepping fully out of his tent and joining them without speaking. He felt he really didn't have to, and it wasn't unusual for him to remain quiet and still.

continuing to stare down at the flames, joey hadn't really noticed what was going on around him. sure, he heard the footsteps but upon the arrival of luke, he had just figured it was him. joey looked up at him and smiled gently, aware of how reserved his friend was he didn't expect a vocal greeting. it felt strange sometimes to have someone so remarkably silent as company, but joey enjoyed the odd silence and it never felt uncomfortable or awkward with luke. out the corner of his eye, joey saw nina tense up. confused and curious, he turned his head and caught sight of the people he were least expecting to see this summer. especially not here.
the first person he saw was chloe, a close friend of nina's. honestly sometimes joey felt a bit jealous and pushed out when they were around eachother due to how close they were - he would never admit that out loud though. he knows he's quite secure in his friendship with nina, knows she isn't the type of person to get close to a lot of people. the second person joey saw was
"oliver?" he spluttered, his heart beginning to hammer against his chest. he could feel his skin heating up and an intense burn surfacing on his cheeks. his obvious blushing was the least of his worries right now as he could see the rest of the popular kids with chloe and oliver. he could feel a sinking sensation in his stomach as he began to sweat and fidget, tugging on his hoodie and scratching too harshly at his neck, leaving the skin red and stinging him. "what are they doing here?" he barely managed, his voice cracking and words stuttering wildly. he adjusted his glasses, refusing to believe that his secret boyfriend was here, and he'd brought all of his friends and his stupid girlfriend, too.

╚═════════════╝ The brunette jumped off the car with her bright blue sleeping bag under her arm. She looked around and ran to where oliver and chloe were talking. Spencer was now standing by her boyfriend and gave him a small kiss on the cheek. She didn't really like like Oliver but she thought he was a really good friend. You know the cliche about the queen bee and the head jock always together as a couple was really affecting their school. Spencer knew there wasn't any real spark of love there. She had actually come to notice a really shy boy. The funny thing that she didn't really know her name. Of course she knew most of her friends really wouldn't approve if there was a relationship so she never really told anyone that she, Spencer Burke had noticed one of those "Unimportant" shy kids. She looked around at the campgrounds until she saw Chloe and Oliver stop. She looked ahead of her to see the "unimportant people" already at their campground.

Finn watched the clouds of his breath dissolve into the chilling morning air. The feeling of being outdoors, and knowing he was going to be spending this time with his good friends, made him walk with a bit of a spring in his step. He was carrying a ton of things - his backpack, the tent he'd brought along, some of the supplies they need, and a large cooler filled with food and drinks. Finn was struggling to carry the bags from where he'd parked his car, but when he saw the campsite he broke into an awkward jog.
He could immediately spot Oliver's light coloured hair that stood out against everyone else, and as he got closer he could see the familiar red curls of Chloe. He sped up, although slightly lopsided from the uneven weight of the bags he was carrying.
'Hey, guys!' he called, coming up behind Oli and Chloe, and standing almost in between the two. 'Sorry if I was interrupting something, but I brought a load of stuff,' there was a loud clanging sound as he dropped all the bags to the ground, followed by Finn cursing under his breath, 'Whoopsie.' he grinned, starting to dig through his backpack. 'Anyway, I brought marshmallows. Let's get a fire going!' he held up a clear plastic bag that was only half filled with marshmallows 'Oh, yeah, I might have eaten a few on the way here but- Wait. What are they doing here?' Finn halted his speech and his face dropped. Of all people, the 'unpopular' group had taken their spot. Immediately a grumpy expression came across Finn's face, like a child who's parents said he wasn't allowed an ice cream. They had absolutely no right to be here. Finn felt entitled to his spot and was about to do almost anything to get it back.
He stood up straight and crossed his arms, still clutching the marshmallow bag. 'Oli, you think I should go over there and chase them off or something?' he chuckled, lowering his voice so nobody else would hear him. Finn glanced over at his friend, who seemed like he was completely ignoring him. 'You alright?' Finn asked, softening his expression. He attempted to follow Oliver's line of sight, but it only led to the other camp. Why would he be staring straight at them? Finn put off the thought and gave Oliver a nudge to try and snap him out of it, insisting that his friend listen to him.

OLIVER MATTHEWS
↳ the jock (age) eighteen (tagged) everybody ???
xxxxxthe jock was too distracted by what was happening to listen to whatever finn and chloe had to say. he watched as joey seemed to have the same reaction as he did, a bit surprised yet nervous. oli wouldn't be able to ignore joey for the whole camping trip, but they couldn't risk anyone figuring it out. they'd have to sneak out or something to meet up. oli kept on thinking about a million bad outcomes that could come out of this, most of those having a small likelihood of happening. it wasn't until finn nudged him that he came back to his senses. "oh, yeah, i'm fine," oli quickly replied, changing his serious facial expression to a somewhat convincing smile. he had to stop dozing off like that, it wasn't helping him convince his friends that nothing was wrong. becoming aware of how fast his heart was beating, he started breathing through his nose and exhaling through his mouth in an attempt to slow down his heartbeat.
xxxxxoli thought back to the question finn had previously asked him. "sure, if you want to," he answered with a grin. then again, they were there first. and oli would feel bad if finn scared them off, especially since nina was there and was best friends with chloe. even though oli could sense that nina didn't like him, he still would feel bad for not letting nina and chloe be together. "actually, they were here first, it's fine. i'm sure there's enough room for all of us here," oli gave a tiny shrug, afraid on how his friends would react to his proposition. they'd already decided on this campsite, and oli didn't feel like looking for another one. so the logical thing to do would be share it. he was sure they could manage it without getting into fights. "so, should we set up?" oli asked, adjusting the duffel bag strap currently hanging on his shoulder.

Letting out a sigh of relief that she was unaware she'd actually being holding, she glanced to the others who were all having a series of different reactions to their current situation, "Oli's right, they're not going to bother us if we don't bother them," she cringed at her own words, and then recalled that they were all stood in some confrontational stare, "We'll move further down, no big deal." Chloe's unsurprisingly chipper attitude seemed to be keeping her amused for the moment so she allowed herself to steal a few glances at her girlfriend from across this imaginary battle ground the two groups had created; it almost seemed ridiculous, there was nothing wrong with these people, in fact, from what she heard from Nina they were all perfectly lovely but the chance that she was going to jump right out and say that to her friends was very unlikely. Not that they'd want to hear it anyway. She was about to ask Oli to lead the way only then to turn to Finn, who didn't seem at all surprised by how bubbly she was being, and why would he? "Finnian," she hummed thoughtfully, trying not to enjoy calling him anything other than 'Finn,' "Did you just say you ate the marshmallows?"

NINA
________________________________
♛Currently; In camp, Freaking out ♛Tags; All
Nina supposed that she may be getting a tad hysterical, as she marched off towards the tree line after a few seconds lingering on the unwelcome party of teenagers. Turning her gaze down to examine the branches that had been broken off by animals or weather she picked up a long one and returned to the front of camp. Jutting the stick into the earth she began to etch a thick line through the dirt and walked forward, dragging it behind her. She trudged up and down a few times, circling around her truck also, if they touched that or messed about with it, she and all her friends were stranded here and she had no money to tow it back to town or fix it up again. Looking somewhat silly in her pyjamas, she threw down the stick and cast her gaze along the barrier she'd made in the dirt. Satisfied with her work, she nodded to herself and then turned to look back at Chloe and the others. "This is our boundary, respect it and we'll respect yours" she said firmly, mentally rolling her eyes. They weren't bees, she'd still use her stinger even if not entirely provoked, but she wasn't a total nut case, and wouldn't do anything, or say anything to anyone across from them if they didn't bother her first.
Chloe being exempt from this of course, she could cross this line whenever she wanted and never once get a scolding, and Nina hoped that wouldn't raise a single question.

mouth falling open to make the shape of an 'o', joey watched in shock as nina lost her temper with the other group. he began to chew his fingernails as he watched her, unsure of if he should cut in and stop her. he decided against it, mostly due to fear of being laughed at by the other group and being humiliated infront of his boyfriend. joey walked forward slowly, placing his hand firmly on nina's arm. he leans into her ear and stares at her side profile as he speaks. "ni, calm down. if you back off then they will too. we can just avoid them the entire time we're here. this place is big enough for that, right?" he asks in his softest tone. his voice was quiet in contrast to nina's harsh words barely a couple of seconds before. he runs his long, slim fingers through his hair as his nerves begin to get the better of him. he really doesn't want nina to kick off with the other group, honestly he just wants to pretend they're not there right now. his mind can deal with this later, but for now he really wants that cup of tea and for his best friend to relax again.

the rebel xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [ location ] campsite xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [ tagged ] oli, chloe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [ occ ] sorry for the awful post ;-;
Finn nodded when Oliver replied that he was fine. He stood up straight again and turned around to pick up the tent - a huge, brand new one he'd just bought for the occasion. The other group moving about caught his eye, and Finn continued to glare at them, pouting slightly in annoyance. For a second, Finn was prepared to actually run over and confront Nina or whoever was closest to get them away from their spot, and when Oli said 'Sure, if you want to.' in reply to his question he originally meant as a joke, his expression changed to a mischievous smile.
'Actually, wait here first,' Oli's quick addition made Finn huff a sigh and deflate his body. 'Aww, come on...' he trailed off quietly, sounding more like a frustrated five year old than an eighteen year old young adult. Oliver had made his point that they had gotten here first, and there was plenty of space for them a bit further down. Chloe had backed him up, and after that there was no arguing with his friends.
'Yeah,' Finn began, picking up the rest of his bags again, 'Let's get set up. I brought the tent!' he grabbed the marshmallow packet and stuffed one more into his mouth. 'Finnian,' came Chloe's familiar voice, and Finn dramatically narrowed his eyes to her calling him by his full name, 'Did you just say you ate the marshmallows?' she said. Finn shifted his eyes, not denying it, but rather pulling a large grin and winking jokingly at his friend. He probably should save some for later tonight. Finn couldn't wait to get a good fire going, and he was going to ensure it was far better than the other group's campfire, for sure.

Lost in thought for a moment, Chloe almost didn't notice when Finn shot her a wink, but when she caught it she cheerfully returned and equally teasing glare before smiling sweetly at him. The was just something about Chloe Beale that refused her to show anything but positivity, and, as much as she was sure Nina loved her, she was also sure that she often drove the girl to her last nerve with her sometimes constant singing. She'll want me to go over right? she considered, struggling under luggage with the others as they made their way to a site a little further down, Socially acceptable or not, I'm going over later. She didn't like having to explain herself to the others, as far as she was concerned it was none of their business and Oliver was currently the only one she was considering telling about her's and Nina's relationship; not that she didn't want to give it out like 'dope news' but she definitely didn't want anything happening to Nina.. not that she'd let it.
Interrupting her train of thought once more, she dropped what had she had been carrying onto their now assigned site and glanced around at the other's as they made work of setting up their things. Chloe's eyes were trained firmly on Oliver, watching how he was acting and more importantly if he was stealing as many glances at Spencer as Chloe stole at Nina; it felt weird, comparing relationships, though technically that wasn't what she was doing. She was simply looking for little pointers that Oliver was still a-okay with what was going on between himself and Spencer. What are you getting yourself worked up about? she mentally scolded, leaning down to set about putting up her tent only to notice Oliver's gaze make it's way to the other camp which instantly had her wondering, what is he keeping from her?
