I looked at the text and replied: "No, just walking in the park."

He texts back, "Cool. I'll be there in a few minutes." He then jogs over to his car and drives to the park. Since it was a short drive away, he made it in no time. He parked his car, locked it up, then spotted Carly and walked over to her. "Hey," he tells her, smiling.

Jeremy says to Carly, "Sorry about what happened at lunch the other day. Was no expecting that to happen so quickly (referring to an unmentioned family emergency where he had to take her back to school). But anyway, I hope that doesn't affect your thoughts on me taking you to winter formal. So, what do ya say?"
