Not Getting pop-ups?

For two years now I have had my message settings to Get a pop up message when I get a new message.

Today, I switched my browser to Google chrome and since them I have not been getting the pop-ups.

So every time I get a message I miss it because I am not used to looking at my message thingy as I expect a pop up whenever I get a message,

Does anyone know How I can get my pop-ups back?

Oh, well it's different, I guess. For example, if my little sister opens up a new tap in Chrome (what we're using) and logs on, once I refresh my tab, I'll be on her account. If she opens up Internet Explorer, then she and I can be on at the same time. I guess it works with features, too.
