I have noticed that quite a few people post in the CS Suggestions and Problems forums asking why their inbox says 1 new message or 2 new messages and wont go away when they click on it. I've also seen people post to ask about how to send a private message. Well, if you are looking for an answer, look no further. You have come to the right place.

What is a PM?
PM is the abbreviation for 'Private Message' or 'Private Messaging' which is a system that allows you to send messages to other players on Chickensmoothie.
How do I send a Private Message?
To send a Private Message, click on the name of the user you wish to send the message to. This should take you to their Profile. Right in the middle of their profile there will be a link that says PM: Send Private Message. Click this and write your message, then click submit to send ^^
Can I send a PM to more than one person at a time?
You can send a Private Message to up to five people at a time. To add them to the message group, go to the rectangle text box above where you put the title and type the username of the person(s) you wish to send the message to. Then click the little button titled 'Add.' If you'd like to remove a person again, just click the little 'x' beside their name.
My inbox says 'One new message', but when I click it, there is nothing there...?
These probably means your inbox is full. The limit of messages you can store is 200. Try deleting all of your unwanted and unneeded messages, then it should say 'Release all on-hold messages'. Like this:
Click it. Then all of the new messages should be released and the '1 new message' should go away. Try doing this every once in a while so it doesn't happen as often ;3
I've been told numerous times that my PM button isn't appearing, and however much I try to change my settings on the pming page, it still won't change.
You may have selected 'No' for 'Allow users to contact me by PM'. To change this, go to 'My Account', click the tab 'Board Preferences', and select 'Yes' for 'allow users to send you private messages.'

I keep getting PMs to notify me of trades, but I don't want them.
If this is the case, you can go into your trade settings (under the regular trades page), and check the box that says 'Don't notify me with a private message when a new trade arrives', then save the updated settings.
I can't send PMs?
If you can't send PMs and its not for one of the reasons above, you are probably a COPPA'd user. This means you are under a safety restriction due to your age and cannot send PMs until you are of age.
