help with pickups and links

I think pickups is what its called when there's a picture and then bellow it there's the code for you to copy and paste into your signature. Im having trouble doing that. Can someone help me?

Oh and how do you create a link with words?
Like how people have the words "My fursona and charries" in their signature and when you click it it takes you to the thread where they have their fursona and characters. How do you do that?

To get the image code showing you use the code tags. Check the little buttons above your writing area, one says Code, click it and paste your image code between.

Code tags look like this:

To get an image code for one of your images you have to upload your image to an image host, like http://www.photobucket.com
