Issues with connecting to CS

Hey there! For a couple of weeks I've been having an issue where CS just won't load at random times for an extended period of time. It keeps giving me "problems loading this page" and "the connection has timed out".
Ordinarily I'd assume this is because of my Internet, but this only happens on CS, and happens on desktop and mobile. But it doesn't happen if I'm accessing CS via mobile data.

So I was wondering if there were any suggestions on what the problem could be and how I could fix it?

I've already tried restarting my router, restarting my laptop, disconnecting and reconnecting to wifi, and adding CS to trusted sites.
I'm using the latest version of Firefox, but also had the same issue on Chrome.

Posting as I have been experiencing the same problem. I thought it was an issue specifically with my apartment's internet service provider but then I went home for the holidays and it happened on my home internet as well. It feels like a temporary IP ban? Very strange, it'll always go away after a few hours

I have the same temporary fix as well, it'll be a problem on the internet but as soon as I switch to mobile data it's suddenly fine. I've never experienced this on any other website I can think of so I think this is a backend CS issue

That's very strange that it's affecting more than just me. I wonder how many are affected and if there are any similarities between the users? It's obviously not affecting everyone or we'd see discussions about it.
Whilst it has been going away after a few hours for me as well, today its lasted for virtually 10 hours which is definitely annoying.

I’ve had this issue and it ended up being my internet service provider limiting/blocking access to CS sometimes. I’m not sure if it was due to using too much bandwidth or what, but I traced the path of the packets and they’d always drop before the ISP.

You can test if it is your ISP by using a VPN. If you’re able to access the site with a VPN, then it could be your ISP. You could always try restarting and/or power cycling your router as well.

I haven't had the issue for a long time now! Whenever it does happen, I just turn on my VPN though. Using a VPN does cause me to log out more frequently, but the trade off is waiting the few hours for me to use CS again lol.

Edit to add for context: it wouldn't work on computer or mobile wifi for me when it would happen! I didn't try with data, but assuming it was my ISP then it'd likely work there.

Very interesting, I'll have to give that a shot! I know our Internet is unlimited though, so it's definitely pretty confusing. Maybe I'll try contacting our ISP to ask. It's just really weird that I suddenly started having this issue last month when nothing else has changed.
