How to tell pet Species?

Postby owoforbois » Sat Nov 15, 2025 10:14 am

Hi! I'm kind of struggling with to know if some pets count towards what species. Is there a specific way to tell?

This is just the easiest example, there are plenty of other pets I don't know species they truly are!

Example:
Searching Monkey in any Event gives you any pet in the 'line' if it includes a monkey at all, like 2023 Camping Event & Christmas. Which of them count as monkeys?

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th pets are on the monkey lines.

The 4th are the eastern dragon lines

And the 6th are otter lines

For heavily edited pets like these, often the easiest way to tell what species they are meant to be is the pose. The opossum and mothman pets can be identified as monkeys because they have the same pose as adult monkeys, and the pangolin has the same pose as the child monkeys. Likewise for the dragon and teddy bear otter, their posing matches the baby eastern dragon and child otter lines respectively.

The Bigfoot is a bit of a special case because the entire body has been redrawn, so it is identifiable as a monkey only by its face. But pets like these are pretty few and far between, we generally try to keep pets easily identifiable as their base lines.
