I'm not sure if this counts as a duplicate topic, if it does feel free to delete. i dont feel as though its a duplicate, as i am expanding on a different point, and wanted to revive the conversation about this in a way it wont get lost, and away from a place where people are being just downright cruel in the replies to people who are genuinely upset by this. I want to start this by saying I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful in any way. I'm autistic, so sometimes the way I talk or type comes out different than how I mean it to, but I promise I'm being genuine here. this really is a genuine question to staff, though I would like to hear others thoughts too.
PLEASE be respectful.
I really don't understand why the message you receive when you trade away a pound pet is still here. I've seen countless users on this site, children and adults alike, saying over and over how genuinely distressing that message is to receive. I've actually cried real tears and fell into a depression for a little because of it, and that should not be happening on a site that's meant to be casual, fun, and relaxing.
I don't understand why trading pound pets is "frowned upon". I believe that anyone should be free to play how they want to, so long as they're not actively disturbing other players. If someone sees a pet in the pound that they know they can trade for, say, a dreamy, I don't know why that's a problem. Also, the people who are adopting pets for the purpose of trading aren't going to be deterred by that message, since they were never attached to the pet in the first place. besides, I don't understand why the use of emotional manipulation is present on a site that many, MANY children frequent.
the only people that message hurts are the the people who genuinely care about their pets. I saw a pet in the pound that I just knew my darling husband would love, so I adopted it for him, and when I sent it to him, I received that horrible, awful message, which is what sent me into that depression I mentioned earlier. The pet was always intended to go to a loving home. There is no reason why a player should be made to feel actual shame over this game.
I feel like no one is thinking about the children on this site. Children may not understand the pound "rules" fully, or may even forget which pets they adopted from the pound. I mean, adults forget too, and I know you can click on the pet to see, but that feels unnecessary. I should feel free to trade whatever of MY pets I feel like, because they are MINE. and there is definitely no reason to be hurting children like this.
all this to say, i think that message is absolutely useless, and does nothing but cause harm. I don't understand why it hasn't been removed after so many countless users have expressed genuine emotional distress over it. at this point, it kind of feels like digging heels in. idk. I don't get it, and it does nothing to stop people who never cared about owning the pet in the first place.
that's all I guess!
