Pound Guilt

Yesterday I saw a pet in the pound that my kid would love (he loves unicorns!) and since he's only just started and it was the first unicorn I've seen in the pound I snatched it up asap.

I sent it to him through our first trade today and requested one of the Valentine's pony doubles on my wishlist.
There was a scary warning about making multiple accounts but I'm guessing that's because we live in the same house.

I check CS a few hours later and notice I have a message, it was from the unicorn I traded him and despite knowing it's a pet game and not really being into collecting unicorns, this message made me feel so guilty it made me cry.

What is the purpose of these messages besides to guilt you? Genuinely want to know because this is so upsetting.

Yeah! Like I HATE the message, like what about the little 10 year olds on the site. They will genuinely be SAD at that message. And not even just kids, adults too, like, what’s the point of it!!!

I'm pretty sure its to stop you from trading pound pets, as its frowned upon (people still do it regardless)

though i also find it really saddening and i personally do not enjoy having that message

i remember i was upset the first time this happened to me as well, i wish there was a way to turn it off before it actually happened - you wouldn't know to turn it off until you've already seen it, and that's too late for a lot of people
