What does litter swaps mean?

Hello! I'm very new, and had a question. In the February trading thread people say 'looking for little swaps' or 'litter swaps not necessary'. I was wondering what that meant?

Hi! Welcome to chicken smoothie! Litterswapping is trading pets within the same litter. So like if you adopt the cat litter, people are looking to trade a pet from the same litter. I hope this helps!
