Needing help with understanding C$

I'm so confused with understanding C$ conversions How can I tell if a C$ trade for pets or items is fair? What does MA and NON mean and why do people reference them in conversations about C$? I've tried reading some of the other guides but it doesn't really make sense. Thanks so much in advanced :3

I have a very handy extension for this;
first, install tampermonkey and then install this add-on. It'll automatically calculate the value of a trade at the bottom of the items added.

Additionally, Horror's List is the most used and simplest list.
