CS Pound Bots??

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but, I think there's abunch of people using an Auto-clicker or script of some sort to auto adopt pets. And I need to start screenshotting/screenrecording pound openings, but I'm not joking when I say the pound opening that just happened, I refreshed at 1 second, 0 lag(shockingly, it usually lags for a few seconds), and 300 pets were instantly taken. It's like unnaturally fast, and usually the oldest pet on the page, or all the Rare+ pets are what's being snatched up. It's been alot of the opening within the last few months, I wanna say around October? Where no matter what usually all the rare+ pets of my first page, and sometimes, my second page, are taken before they even load/before I can even register what it is. And I just want to know what ya'lls thoughts are on this, do you think recent good pound grabs need to be investigated for using a script/auto-clicker? Do you think they're using one? Was it just alot of dumbluck as of recent? Is the pound just glitching out?

(To add to the possibility of the Pound glitching out, the recent pound opening, I snagged this pet on my second page, but a friend in the CS server I'm in said they saw the pet with the "Already Taken!" message on their first page. We both were at the pound at its opening first few seconds, so it's weird it was taken on their first page, but showed up on my second page for me to adopt)

It could be. to be fair lots of people are impressively fast clickers, but there’s still that split second where an image needs to be perceived and recognized and for you to react. I think lots of players play for the pound specifically as well and the fear of missing out on a rare can make people panic click on random pets. One of these days I’ve been meaning to hand my phone over to my rhythm game playing partner to see if he has an advantage LOL
but, it’s relatively easy to make autoclickers. flight rising has a captcha on their coliseum because so many people were autoing coli battles, it’s definitely a concern to look into. the pound basically being instantly depleted takes a lot of enjoyment out of it.

I understand panic clicking, which is why I'm iffy on whether it's 100% auto-clicker/script, but also, I don't think it's a coincidence that it's almsost ALWAYS the oldest pets or rare+ pets on the page being snatched up so quickly. I wouldn't've batted an eye if 300 pets depleted that fast, and it was just completely random mix of old, rares, common, and recents, but it's mostly the older & rare+ pets being snatched up

i've always taken the advice of "click on the oldest pet on the page asap and pray it's a rare" but even i don't do this half the time because i'm on the lookout for wishlist pets from any year (even if they aren't rare) - there are probably people who do what i just mentioned ALL THE TIME, so i wouldn't be surprised if that's what's happening. there's been times where images won't load for me yet i've just clicked on the oldest date i've seen and prayed it's something good

however you do bring up a good point and it leads me to wonder if people have created macros or utilize autoclickers to instantly grab pets even if images aren't loading. i wouldn't be surprised if this was the case

I think there's a problem with the pound in general. No doubt CS is an old site. I mean I made a video about this place and people keep chiming in with how much stuff has changed. From the past few months it just sounds like the pound code is broken or something is scrambled somewhere. Immense amount of lag and just straight up not loading at all. Clicks not being registered till it's too late. And now like you said insanely fast possible auto clickers. I know there is script that people use in video games to get more headshots. It's very possible people have an auto clicker or something on their computer, or the pound is just broken. With how things have been the past few months, I suspect its the latter

I get the first pet of first page if its rare+ abt 80% of the time on pc without an autoclicker. It really depend of your phone or pc performances, on phone it takes me 10-15sec to load and i never get anything good while on pc its instant, also depend of how fast your browser can refresh. its really about how fast you can refresh and if you have all rare+ on wl. I just instantly grab it if its on wl and get most of the time and im guessing its mostly just very fast people with an optimal pc/browser for speed over autoclickers but there's is probably still some autoclicker users.

I've been a user since 2011. The Pound has existed as long as I can remember and it's always been this way. The way I believe the Pound functions is, the rarest/ oldest pets in the Pound are offered in the first few pages. It goes by date which is why you'll still find some rares in the later pages due to 12/18 pets. Pets shown on your screen are not strictly shown to you. They can appear on others' screens when viewing the Pound and until someone adopts it, it will be refreshed through many users' screens. There are people who wait for the Pound to open sitting and refreshing and there are thousands upon thousands of users across the world. They offer a small portion of pets to that large mass so it might seem like it could be some kind of tech but Nick has constantly updated the site to protect against that kind of tech since him and Tess created the site. I know it's frustrating not getting the rares you see, but that's what happens. People get lucky and/or have faster response time. I highly doubt that kind of tech has managed to slip through after how much maintenance is put into the site.

(Replying to above) There's evidence that these scripts exist sadly, and it's getting worse. There's nothing being done by nick. I of course experienced lag in 2016 when I joined, but it's been MUCH worse in the recent years. All sites lag, but having THIS much is very alarming. ;-;

This is why I stopped going to pounds, people are starting to cheat WAY more and nothing is being done. CS won't bring in more coders to fix it, and won't be anytime soon. They won't even address the state of the site either.

If you have evidence someone is using a bot to give themselves an unfair advantage you can report that here; help/gethelp

I know there are things in place to help detect bots on CS but its never going to be 100% foolproof so if you think something is slipping by you should report it. Unfortunately though we can't just take 'pets are gone really quickly' as proof there are bots, some PCs load faster than others, the time you reload the pound would also impact that, etc. Just because a pet is gone by the time your page loaded doesn't mean it didn't load faster/earlier on someone else's PC. There are also a lot more people accessing the pound nowadays compared to even a few years ago, thanks to people now getting discord notifications when there are pound openings so they don't need to be actively on the site to know there is an opening. This means there is a lot more competition for pets now and they will be grabbed from the pound faster. Unfortunately there isn't much to do about that unless we were to re-haul the pound entirely so that notification bots are no longer useful.

ive been playing actively since around then and have been able to grab rares+, i think it comes down to your internet, site lag, time of day / active players and luck :p ive gotten rares+ with like 500 pets left on my 4th refresh
