Suggestion: Remove "Delete this pet" option. POLL ADDED

why is there a delete option for pets...? wouldnt they do much better in the pound or being traded away? especially if someone decided to delete older pets, there might not be enough to go around .n.

it's kind of an option that's been around since the beginning.... when you used to be able to adopt unlimited pets.... I guess it isn't such a good idea these days :?

The delete option for pets was for the days when you could adopt unlimited pets. Nowadays you can't do that, and the delete option only hurts the trade economy. I've seen it when people choose to delete their pets instead of sending them to the pound or gift it away. I strongly believe that CS would be better without that option, as it brings us no benefits, only harm.

Edit:

Just gonna reword this, how about we remove the delete button, and replace it with a transfer to pound button? that button instantly transfers it to the pounds inventory, instead of taking ages to accept a trade.


the common argument for not removing the button is 'pound takes ages to accept', the staff can make the pound automatically accept trades to fix that issue.

Let me explain:

So we rename our 'delete' button to 'transfer' or 'transfer to pound'
when we press transfer/transfer to pound the pet disappears, just as it does when we delete it, then in our trading center we get a notification, with the typical 'pound took one pets thanks for donating to the pound'

support this (: we don't really use the button anymore, and we have other options if we want to get rid of a pet: you can donate it to the pound, gift it to someone or give it to one of the many adoption centers we have.

Plus, another reason;

It is known that scammers sometimes delete pets involved in shady trades, to 'erase' evidence.

If I ever quit Id rather be able to delete the pets than do a feeding frenzy giveaway or send them to the pound where they'll rot for years before being adoptable again.
Any I knew were originally gifts Id try and give away though
Im pretty sure every pet site has some sort of delete option

Edit: Basically what I mean is you should have the freedom to choose what you want to do with pets you don't need/want

I don't really see the point of removing it? Sure, it's not that useful, but I personally think having the option available is nice.
