I'm just so confused right now? I adopted this pet from the pound about 2 years ago, I've been trading pound pets to other people for years and I never remembered getting this message (although maybe it was because I was COPPA'd for a while?). Is the guilt trip really needed, though? I don't think the unexpected guilt trip was really necessary. I don't really see a purpose for this message?

hello

I don't know exactly what the point of the message is; I agree that people like me with an overly guilty conscience can be really hurt by a message like this.
There's no way to exactly disable the message, but you can make a new Message Rule where:
If subject is like "A message from your pet" delete message
That way it will no longer notify you that you're trading a Pound pet. I don't know when it started doing it, it may possibly have been because you were COPPA, but this has definitely been around a few years.
