I briefly read the past conversation so I am not going to claim expert on this, however, Google Chrome has a wider setup and better pixel width rate compared to all other browsers, to the point where at one stage I had a 750px x 300px signature fit with ease, however, this doesn't work for Firefox or IE or any other browser.
For Firefox / IE, I would have a signature to be a max of 700 x 300, a forum post to be an image 720 or so in width and a trade rules setting of 750px in width (I work with 750 px personally, also the length of the image should be considered because that might interfere with the coding.)
I personally use Firefox for CS because it feels better adjusted when I am creating something, instead of using Chrome because of this.

(Also, this is the case for Window computers, for Mac, I find Safari better for some reason, though I don't use Mac computers a lot so this is probably a bias opinion on my behalf)

try using some fancy fonts and add a transparent background rose, and weave some sticks into it.
