I have a question about avatar sourcing.
For a while, the source link for my avatar was broken, because the artist deleted their Tumblr. While I was eventually able to find their new art account, that brings up a question: what do you do if the source for your avatar is from someone who deleted their social media, and you can’t find any of their other accounts?

So I'm starting to wonder, I've had in my signature for a while now a small list of conventions I plan on attending in the future (well, right now it depends on COVID), is this list against the rules in any way? Since it's basically like I'm gonna be in X place on X date I thought I'd ask, and I'll remove it if so.

Since conventions (along with concerts, festivals, etc.) are large public gatherings often far from where you actually live the risk of someone using that information to target a specific person is very unlikely and therefore makes it acceptable to share.

How about smaller conventions, e.g. less than 500 attendees? The smallest convention I've been to had around 450

I would use your judgment in that situation if you feel safe sharing the info, as we are not going to investigate the expected number of attendees at a convention. Hundreds of people is still a large public gathering.

This rule was recently elaborated on:
"Images that display nude breasts, butt, or genitals are not allowed. We allow reference images and simple cartoon art styles (example: Donald Duck) that display these areas only if they meet the following criteria: 1) the character is covered in fur/hair that obscures the details of their anatomy, 2) the only detail is simple outlines to show the shape of the body, 3) the character is in a modest pose and setting, and 4) there is no flesh-toned shading in the genital area. Characters (even in reference images or without nipples) with smooth skinned breasts or butts must be covered by clothing."

Does that mean that the pinkish shading on the belly of an adoptable, like this, is no longer allowed?

These rules were adapted from our original "Anthro/Furry" art rules and generally only apply to bipedal characters. Quadrupedal animals aren't expected to wear clothes/cover their stomachs, as you wouldn't see that covered on a dog walking in public.

BLM is fine, as its general use is positive and to refer to a movement advocating for human rights. Anarchism is a political philosophy, so that needs to be removed with the new, updated rules. ACAB is both commonly used to abbreviate a curse word and is a political statement against a group of people/an institution, so that would not be allowed even by our previous rules as we had already banned "anti" statements in profiles.

If you have proof of permission to use an art image through commission or specific request you can retain the proof of that even if the person deletes their account(s) by keeping screenshots, and are still able to refer to them as their previous username if needed. For your avatar in particular you will need to show specific permission from the artist to use it, not just credit. Please remove it until you have acquired such permission.

Hey, I was wondering if the word "simp" is allowed on CS?

“Simp” is alright to use! We did ban its usage for a bit, but we have decided that the word has a widespread use and we don’t feel that people typically use the term in an inappropriate manner anymore.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if images made with artbreeder are allowed to be used here?

It's a bot that lets you edit the 'genes' of images and combine them to create new ones. According to their support page, all images made with it are public domain, so in theory they're all free to use.

The reason I'm not sure about it is that it does let people upload their own images to use with the portrait generator. The TOS says those need to be public domain or images you have the rights to, but I'm not sure if that's actually enforced. I wouldn't be surprised if it has some copyrighted images in its database, and there's no reliable way to tell what images were used to create something.

Just giving a scroll throw the homepage I see a lot of art being used, so I would steer clear of that site. It’s the responsibility of the poster to be able to verify the source of images they use.
