Imma be really honest. I want to get angry, I love getting angry and fighting with people but the staff is just being too nice and helpful!
really, I can't thank you guys enough. So much effort and care. If only the president spent half of the time you guys have spent with us. HA American politics.
But seriously, I've been on a lot of sites and see most of them crumble due to staff making decisions that most people disagreed with. I've seen site-wide protests and results go ignored by every staff member. But right now, I feel listened to. It doesn't feel like a corporation bulldozing over the userbase, it feels like a genuine community where most people actually really care about the others and the issue at hand.
So thank you Desmond, Seasonal, and every other staff members behind the scenes. Thanks for listening, thanks for having a conversation.

100%
Thank you guys for the great communication and seeming willingness to compromise and address the situation! Hope everyone who does celebrate the holiday had a wonderful time!
They're people too, and although it's a holiday, they're here.

Oh hm. I'm a little bit confused, then. Maybe it was just starting to be really truly enforced in 2015? I'm not 100% sure since I wasn't around in those times, though.
Sorry really late (I was reading posts) but.. If memory serves correctly, it was always a rule. We discussed it thoroughly back in the day when it came up. It just wasn't explicitly stated until then because it wasn't happening often enough to catch staff attention. The rule was added in officially for transparency when we noticed that it was becoming a trend in the adoptable forums to use covers and we had to start moderating them more.

Back when I first started to get into drawing on the oekaki I had a a couple things locked like when I just wrote on the 'drawing' but when I did a quick sketch everything was fine,, and was told to do so. There was no issue so it was only really inforced with things that were only writing without a sketch or a quick drawing,,
this is only an occuring issue now tbh

im so sorry if this causes any disrespect i’m just genuinely puzzled,,,
if it’s always been a rule, then why on a few occasions you went against that rule, knowing full well that it was a thing??
also, thank you to all the lovely mods who have been reading and answering on this form, it really helps ;33

Ok.
This has been a lot
Thankyou to the mods who responded
And Thankyou to those behind the scenes
We have gotten somewhere
But
We have very little communication, it’s the Holidays I get it but, I’m not just talking about this instance, I’ve only been on since 2017 but I still have noticed a lack of communication between users and mods. Mods will make rules we disagree with and we get angry, very few actually try to compromise (this is talking about both ends). We need to communicate or this site will just get repetitive and a lot of people who most likely leave.
Here are a few points
1-inconsistency- locking some posts but not others even if they’re posted on the same timeframe or forum.
2- visuals- bright blue links crowded together plus large images gets blurry it hurts peoples eyes it’s not fun
3-navigation- not everyone has an easy time navigating large forums (this one was hard for myself) or even smaller ones this can become a massive issue and can possibly kill off massive amounts of c4c participants
4- spam- a red lock is way more spammy than letting someone fix their post or warning then deleting (with a pm of the orig image and wording)
I’m active like 2 times a year
