Updates in progress

It is now August. We would really appreciate a verbal update from Nick or the Admins.

we're being met with silence again. I know it's just the first day of august, but we have been politely asking for an update for a while now. I'm honestly very disappointed that nothing seems to have changed at all when it comes to communication between staff and the userbase.

Not that I don't agree that the staff ought to be a little more transparent regarding progress about upcoming updates, but I do think it's a little dishonest to say there have been no changes.

I just saw the 'this has been put up in another trade' notification the other day when I was setting up a couple different trades and I was so relieved. There have been some significant updates already put in place this year and and stating generally that nothing has changed is very belittling to the effort that has clearly been made for improvement to the site.

That being said, I still don't think it's too much to ask for the staff to either give estimations on further improvements, or even to acknowledge that Nick is not communicating so they don't know what the etas on future updates are anymore.

It would be a good idea to refrain, though, from saying blanket statements like 'nothing's changing', 'it's like it was before', etc. That's got to be so disheartening and I frankly expect, with all the negativity, no one's reading this thread anymore.

I would recommend, instead, focusing on supporting Pallastromy's thread here with constructive commentary on the situation, as opposed to simply posting dissatisfaction here on this thread.

when I'm saying that I'm disappointed about nothing being changed I was directly referring to the communication between staff and the userbase. maybe I should have clarified that more and I'm going to edit my post to make it more apparent.

I'm aware of the small qol updates we did get and I am very greatful for those! I'm just sad that there is still basically no transparency toward us users, although staff has said that this will improve.

would love an update given that its august now and there as far as we know haven't been any updates regarding the upcoming additions to cs! a lot of people, myself included, have been waiting for a few of the updates patiently. It feels hard to trust in which direction CS is heading when there is not clear communication between staff and users, especially on changes that are long awaited.

I don't usually chime into topics such as these, but I'm also growing very concerned. I know it's still very early August but it seems I'm not the only one feeling a bit uneasy. I was so delighted seeing the counter for the Pound/Lost & Found along side the archive jumping to pets in groups updates. I was amazed to see such big changes! Especially seeing as it's just Nick. I'm a bit more torn up due to the fact we were promised certain updates between this threads creation and August of 2026. Seeing no updates or announcements on any of these suggestions makes me feel a bit tossed to the side. Even more so seeing as people have been commenting on this thread since then. I'm sure that even a small post from any of the staff would help settle some minds, including mine. It doesn't need to be an in-depth thing either. Just a simple post saying that you hear our concerns and have some issues getting in the way of these updates. Communication is better than silence.

Would like to agree some communication would really be appreciated. If Nick's busy and whatnot that's fine and understandable but everyone would probably feel better being. Told that than left in the dark when this started because of tension regarding that very thing for years on end

I don't want to be a jerk but, given the timelines we did not make ourselves but were instead given/promised... in a month and a half we're in "later 2026." This list was given in January and only half of these updates have come to fruition. I know people have lives off CS, which is fine because people can't live online 24/7, but this is feeling very "we're back to being on the dusty end of the shelf" level of no one cares. And this whole update was to tell us we matter. Tess has been a grand total of nowhere since this post as all the updates have been mostly the other admins with a sprinkle of Nick.

You can't be mad we're annoyed about this because... where the hell is everyone?
At this point we're playing hide-and-seek in the dark and only a couple people have flashlights.
