It's actually pretty simple. Crop it twice. That's all.
I prefer to do so on OIE because then you can keep track of exactly how wide each half is when you crop it. That way you can split it more accurately.

EDIT:

I am currently working on reorganizing the long list of image editors on the front page. I have a method sorted out for this, but I'm not so sure I like it.

What sort of ways might you reorganize that list to make it less daunting and slow to read through?

yeah i normally use oie myself

and one thing I hate doing is adding a 'coding' link whenever I make someones signature so I have finally found a way around it for myself which is just having the link wired though the images itself ovo

I just spent way too long reorganizing the Image Manipulation post. The post has been given a table of contents, the Enhancing Images section has been divided into 3 subsections, and screenshot previews have been provided for some of the image editors.

UGH, I am so done with coding for today. Y'all get the fun sig shops and stuff and I get the tedious work. Please notify me of any glitches or any areas that need more tweaking. Goodness knows I could have made a mistake somewhere in that mass of brackets.
