Was it it right for me to report this?

Okay, so, I originally thought that I should report this message somebody sent me. Though I do now feel a little harsh as they are not a very experienced member and it was over something so trivia.

They sent me this trade along with this message.

i will give ANYTHING for this pet!
just look at my pet collection and see what u want and i will unlock it.

I cancelled saying "Read rules."

My trading rules say "- I will no longer accept one-sided trades telling me to edit."

Then, a while later, I recieved this PM from them:

its kinda stupid of u to just cancel my trade just because im trying to find that 1 dog and i forgot to read the rules.
the best part of it, you canceled saying "Read rules." thats RETARTED!!!!

I reported them for rudeness, though now I'm not so sure if it was right of me to report this person.
Was it the right thing to do? Also, will anything be done about it by the mods? (e.g. getting a formal warning) Or would it just be a silly little mistake?

Yes, it was right to report it. They shouldn't have gotten rude because you expected them to follow your rules. As far as what the mods will I do, I don't know.

No matter how experienced the user is. They should respect your rules.
It was rude to say "retarded" and "stupid". You did the right thing reporting it ^^.

That was rude and reportable. Don't doubt it. That counts as harassing someone. Plus, they should have read your rules and this wouldn't have happened. I bet they have many canceled trades because they won't follow people's rules.

That was really mean. I think you did the right thing by reporting them. I would've done the same thing and probably told them not to be rude, although they wouldn't listen. People who have traded with that person probably never trade with them again.
