Agree. I'm glad they at least mention it, but there continues to be a lack in transparency that is really disappointing. So much so that I'm kind of lost for words :')

I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt about the lack of a comment because we were only alerted that the admins are aware of our lackluster happiness about 4 days ago... but, and again I don't want to come off as a jerk, the entire point of this post was to tell us we matter. So giving a much wordier equivalent to "no comment" after ghosting us for who knows how long just furthers the narrative that we don't matter. And the only people who know how long we've been ghosted... are the ones ghosting. That's not an achievement you want. I don't want to be Debbie downer but giving the benefit of the doubt only goes so far before it turns into "I doubt we're getting any benefits."

I'm not mad. I'm also not happy.
I'm not mad at non-admin staff members.
But we're seeing them way more than admins.
I'm not saying we should see you dudes every day but we're basically this minus the ending.

unfortunately, there's no way for the admins to provide us an update if they genuinely just do not have one or are unable to disclose it for the time being. folks asked for an update, and got one, even if that update is not what you expected or hoped.

this isn't a dig at anyone, but we have genuinely no idea what's happening behind the scenes right now, and we aren't always entitled to that information. say for example, that Nick or Tess have faced a personal life situation that is nobody's business - there's no way for the admin team to disclose that without their permission. i'm not saying that's what's up, but it also totally could be, for all we know.

ultimately, we will just have to be patient. Nick implemented multiple updates before this seeming hiatus, and i am sure he has his reasons for it. we keep talking about 'the admin team' but the reality is that CS has exactly one coder, and that's Nick. these updates just cannot be completed if he's unable to for whatever reason.

i hope that Nick and Tess are well and thank you for addressing the noise even though there's nothing to say at the moment. i've been there and i understand how bad it can feel. i have no personal ill will towards any staff member and i don't think anyone else should, either. Tess opened up about her reasons for why the site had stagnated, and some progress was made. honestly, i'm surprised the site even still gets new pets every single month, it's 18 years old now and that's extremely impressive. so thank you for everyone's hard work, and hopefully we see more updates soon. <3
