"item no longer available" when trading items? RESOLVED

i've never, ever gotten this error before - if an item is traded away, it'll cancel the trade (at least in my experience?)
is this a new feature, or perhaps a bug?

Item trades are unable to automatically cancel, so this is the system's way of notifying the user that a trade will need to be canceled and resubmitted or outright canceled!
Items on site do not have unique IDs the way that individual pets do, meaning that there is no way for the system to automatically cancel a trade when an item is removed from an individual account (as there is no way for the system to automatically detect that the item is no longer tied to the account). ^^
