Are these frequent fair trades with my sister ok?

Postby concealedCat » Mon Apr 27, 2026 4:04 am

Hi! I just wanted to be safe and ask about this issue

I am very shy and get anxious trading pets with strangers, but I do trade with my sister. We often check which pets we have that the other is missing, and even have dedicated pet groups to save them for each other. We try to space these trades out to be safe, but my sister did get a warning for accepting this one today:

We don't even live in the same state, but I guess since today specifically we are at the same IP address, the trade got flagged. So I wanted to make sure there are any extra steps we should take besides making sure our trades are fair rarity-wise.

Thanks in advance!

Any time you trade on the same IP, the warning comes up. As long as you're trading fairly, you won't have a problem ^^

provided the trades don't consistently benefit one player, you don't need to do anything specific! i believe the warning that pops up is automatic if you and another user are logged into the same device/same ip address (my sister and i got one whenever we traded, because we were both using the same home computer); the only advice i generally see is if you do intend to send a large or valuable gift, it might be best to send a help ticket in first to check with staff? but swaps like the example you gave should be fine, since it's no different to if you were doing monthly swaps with any other user!

Thank you both so much! We should be safe then, but the big stop signs did give us a little scare 😂

As the others said, as long as the trades are kept fair to both sides there won't be any problems. Its an issue if one account is regularly benefiting from the other. I did also want to add that there is more info in the side rules here, specifically the section that starts with "Each user may have one account" details a more specifics.

A few things that are good to remember;
- If you ever want to do a large trade or gift with each other and are worried it might be flagged, you can send in a help ticket to ask if the trade would be ok to make before you complete it. That way you can get confirmation that it won't flag your accounts.
- CS doesn't allow off-site trades for things that aren't other pet sites (such as trading CS for Flight Rising would be fine, but not for Fortnite stuff). I mention it cause sometimes siblings/friends will offer each other pets for doing favors irl. Thats not considered a legitimate trade. Again would suggest making use of help tickets to check with CS staff first if you aren't sure if a specific trade/gift would be ok to not.
- If one of you decides to quit/leave CS, don't send everything to the other person. It'll almost certainly end up being flagged as cheating, its recommended that beyond the regular parting gifts, the pets be sent to the pound instead, or given away on the free adoptions board. Staff can also help with mass transfers of pets in these cases (such as sending everything to the pound for you).

Also wanted to add that its always fine to send in a help ticket with general questions for staff, especially for this sort of thing or if you want to ask about a specific scenario that only staff would be able to help with ^^
