problem accessing the site

hello! the past month or so i've periodically had major issues accessing chicken smoothie; it seems like my browser will act as if i don't have internet connection and send errors like 'timed out connection' when i try to load it. this ONLY happens with chicken smoothie when it happens; i do not have trouble accessing any other site, and this occurs across multiple devices. i was wondering if anyone knew specifically what might be causing this? i've talked with a few friends about it and it seems unique to me/my account but i have no clue what would be triggering it when it's happening on both my phone and computer.

Does this happen at certain times of day or randomly? It could be heavier site traffic such as rollover during the Halloween event or the Pound/Lost and Found opening that is causing the site to slow down.

Alternatively, have you tried clearing your browser cache on both your mobile and computer? You can look up how to do this for your specific browser(s). If that doesn't help, try switching to a different browser and see if you still experience the issue.

I haven't noticed any particular pattern to when it happens; it definitely isn't around rollover and didn't start during the event, although I guess it could be the pound/l&f opening? its kind of hard for me to tell for sure, but i don't *think* its related as the periods i can't access the site usually last longer than i think the pound is usually open for.

i'll try clearing my cache next time it happens, i haven't tried that, but i have tried different browsers─i use completely different ones on my phone and computer, and ive tried on two separate browsers on my computer.

I might be misremembering, but I think another user was having a similar issue because of their VPN? If you're using one, it could be the culprit.

i don't use one :^) this happens super infrequently, too; like once or twice a week infrequently. def not the end of the world since it always seems to resolve itself, im mostly worried about it blocking communication with some of my commissioners. if it happens again i will update on what i tried/any possible triggers i can think of but for now i will hope clearing my cache will work!

If you are trying to access the site on a public wifi (for example at work, school, etc.) that might be the reason, they could be blocking/restricting the site on their end.

I’ve had this issue and it ended up being my internet service provider limiting/blocking access to CS sometimes. I’m not sure if it was due to using too much bandwidth or what, but I traced the path of the packets and they’d always drop before the ISP.

You can test if it is your ISP by using a VPN. If you’re able to access the site with a VPN, then it could be your ISP. You could always try restarting and/or power cycling your router as well.
