My Laptop refuses to open -help?-

I'm currently on my mum's laptop but my laptop refuses to open. Whenever I open it it runs the Startup Repair? And it asks me to restart my computer but then it does the startup repair again. I've tried system recovery but it doesn't work either. I'm really not sure what to do.
Is there a way to fix this without replacing the hard drive?

Seems like you got a virus there Hun. Most like a Trojan...their the most common culprit. Do you have virus/spyware protection on your laptop?

Oh yeah, I think before it shut down a window popped up saying a trojan has infected your computer and I should click this button to get rid of it .-.
