Rarity Update

So many of my pets were downgraded as result of the rarity update however none were updated as result of. Yes i read the update, im still struggling to understand how the update only managed to downgraded my pets.

Unfortunately, the pets that went down rarity wasn't as rare as the old system said! :c A rarity overhaul like this happened in 2012, and it's going to be a while for the dust to settle trading wise.

It honestly depends on what pets you have, if you have older pets then you'd probably get the ones that went up, vice versa for newer ones. I admit it did put newer players into a bit of a pinch trading wise, but we all start somewhere. C: sorry to hear about what happened!

Unfortunately in the short term, newer players did see a lot of their pets dip down in rarity. The good news is that in the long term the pets you receive will have more mobility, and even the slightly older pets you trade for are more accurately represented.

Finally we are seeing monthly pets from 2013, 2014, even 2016, hit rare. For years the monthly pets have been stuck all at uncommon. Now we have a system which accurately reflects rarity!

As K-9-Dog said, nothing's actually changed except the label. Rarity is all based on math, so it's not that your pets have lost value - they were just inaccurately represented before. And, since it was such a large shift, this should hopefully open up more possibilities in trading up c:
