I don't know if I will do a comic or a story, but I am trying the story first. Here goes!
Prologue
A rustle of feathers. A streak of black. A black-feathered creature lands on the floor of a cave and skidds ten feet across the rock, leaving a thin red trail as it goes. The creature hits a rickety wooden table and a bowl topples off, spilling the contents of a black feather and an owl pellet on the floor amid a green slime. A click reverberates throughout the cave as metal battle claws hit the rock. The black creature, the last hagsfiend, shuffles, trying to get away from the approaching Guardian, but the owl places a metal-clad foot on the dreadful creature. "Well well." The owl hoots "The last Hagsfiend. All under my control. I will kill you and rid the kingdoms of your presence." "Wait!" The creature shreaks in a cracked voice. The owl winces as the sound of sharp pebbles scraping across eachother emminates from the creature's beak. "I can show you something. Something that could have been. It is something you have wanted to know, young Guardian. Let me up and I will show you." The owl hesitates for a moment, then lifts its foot. "But don't try anything. I will kill you within a second." The owl says "Ha. I bet you would." The hagsfiend cackles. The Hagsfiend walkes over to another table. On it sits a bowl filled with a strange white liquid. The hagsfiend says something inaudable, then spits in the water. The surface of the liquid turns black for a moment, then becomes transparent. The owl looks inside and sees a forest. The forest where Hoole was hatched, to be exact. The owl blinked. He saw a young chick wander from a hollow in a tree. It was the young Hoole himself. "This is where this timeline differs from your own." The Hagsfiend squacks. There is a flash of black and the young Hoole is snatched by a Hagsfiend. An older owl flew out of the hollow in persuit of the black creature. The image darkened and the older owl, Grank returned. Hoole was not with him.
Hoole was dead.
Chapter 1
What the owl had seen in the Hagsfiend's bowl was terrifying. It depicted the death of young Hoole and showing Grank as the one who planted the Great Tree. It showed him retreaving the Ember and winning the battle as the new king. It upset the owl to see the legendary queen Sil crying over the fate of her son as she died in Grank's wings. The name of the tree was not the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, but Grank's Tree. But that wasn't the end of it.
Soren woke up in his family's hollow. He saw his older brother Kludd and young sister Eglantine. His mum and da were not in the hollow. They were out hunting. Soren saw Kludd sturr and yawn. Soren made no mention to him as he walked over to the side of the nest with him. Then Kludd spoke. "Soren, you are my brother. You have seen the owls who fly arround with their shiny battle claws. Wouldn't you like to join them?" Soren looked up at Kludd. "N..No. Da said that they were bad and I should never want to join them." Kludd laughed. "Brother, you are mislead! Think about what it would be like to fly with the other owls, adventuring, even ruling." Soren was begenning to sway tword Kludd's side. It would be fun. Kludd grinned. His brother was so easily manipulated. He would feed himself to a hungry bear if Kludd convenced him. "So, do you know the name of these owls?" Soren said "They are called the Pure Ones. All tytos. And owls like us are the most pure." Kludd said and puffed up his chest. Pure. Soren thought. He liked the sound of that word. 'So, when do we go?" Soren said excitedly. "We have to do one thing before we go." Kludd said.
Little Eglanting woke up and saw the sun setting. She streached and walked over to her two older brothers. "What are you doing?" She demanded. "You know Mum and Da don't want you too close to the edge of the hollow." Kludd looked over at her. "Go eat a pellet." He said. Eglantine jerked back as if she had been stung. "I am telling." Eglantine said and hopped back over to the nest. She settled back into it, watching her brothers with angry eyes. Kludd turned back to his brother. "You know what to do." He wispered. Soren nodded. Then Kludd pushed Soren out of the nest with one wing. "Soren!" Eglantine screamed. She ran to the side of the nest and saw Soren on the ground, His wing twitching and tongue hanging from his mouth. Eglantene began to cry, but Kludd pushed her fom the nest as well. As Eglantine plummeted to the ground, Soren got up. With five pumps of his wings he flew back to the top of the tree. "Soren. Why?" Eglantine whispered as he flew up. "Because I had to." He said back. Kludd smiled at his brother. "Good job. Now we will go to the Pure Ones' Fortress." Soren followed his brother. They flew for days and reached the fortress of the Pure Ones. Then an owl flew down in front of them. She was a barn owl, older then both Soren and Kludd, and held an air of responsibility. She Smiled a cruel smile down onto the young Barn Owls. "Well done. Now that your TUPSI cerimony has been completed you can now be accepted into the Pure Ones."
----------------------
Soren flew for days, trying out outrun the fact that he had condemed his sister to death. He finally crashed into the sand of the Desert of Kuneer. The barn owl lay on the warm sand until he was decovered by a long-legged owl. "Who are you?" The owl said when Soren lifted his head. The owl who had descovered him looked very strange. It had long featherless legs and bright yellow eyes. "I'm Soren." The owl coughed. he realised he had not eaten or drank for days. "I'm Digger." The owl responded. "Come with me, you sound tired. And thirsty. How long have you been flying?" Soren graciously accepted the offer and followed the owl. He showed Soren the burrow he had made. "You made this?" Soren asked.
