july 26; '18

i watched as life slowly awakened in your eyes. at first glance, they were just green. but i watched them grow: i watched fruits and flowers of all colours and delight blossom; i watched birds like beings from heaven dance in the sapphire skies; i watched trees and plants, young and old, tower over this paradise, watching over and protecting.

it was like eden rested in your very mind and soul.

divine creatures stopped singing in shame: they bowed their heads before you. the waves would follow your graceful dance as the bees and birds and butterflies stopped to stare in wonder; curiosity. the sun sat on the horizon and painted exquisite sunsets, inspired by your beauty. roses grew at your touch and the creatures of this land regarded you as 'mother'.

you fed and nurtured the earth. you let it grow and learn and discover. you let it rise and fall and rise again.

july 27; '18

listen, the silence is speaking to you. the earth is giving you it’s blood. the sun is feeding you. watch the rolling waves: they have years worth of knowledge. walk along the beaches, let the stars guide you like lanterns. calmly walk the walk of life, do not rush. do not stop. take it in. feel the sand against your feet. it is silk, it is a warm fire, it is the feeling of soft laughter in the summer’s evening, it is the feeling of love grasping you by the hand, walking you down an unknown path. the feeling of feeling safe.

dip your hands into the ocean. feel it’s gentle rhythm, nature’s song, composed just for you. watch the fish mimic light against water. wonder what life calls this precious place home. let it carry you, bring you stones and shells that have seen millions of years worth of history, let it teach you. feel the grooves and curves where it has been tossed and thrown. listen for the ocean’s song.

kiss me softly, let it linger for a minute, or two.
let your poison sink in, slowly, slowly.
haunting eyes yet delicate like the morning's gentle embrace.
as your hand touches mine it feels smooth, elegant:
like a swan's angelic feathers
against night's demonic sorrow.

october 23; '18

I felt water cage my lungs, slowly tear me piece by piece. I saw my reflection in the water below: a cruel, pantomime of fate and desire; my eyes merely a distant memory, painted with unfamiliar passion and love and devotion. yet just out of my touch lay precious roses, weeping in my sea. each a delicacy, carved from the gods themselves. I breathed, let the sun’s precious gift swallow me, sculpt my heart into exquisite jewels. I saw iridescent flares, watched them mimic the light. dancing and singing to nature’s songs were gorgeous, grand fires, calling and shouting and screaming that I could understand yet had no reply.

all sounds ceased: no animal nor man nor god sang. no insect hummed, no bird whistled, no leaf murmured. light and darkness gave no meaning, adoration, intensity, ambition all seemed to fade. all of heaven and hell’s creatures defeated, each saint and sinner left for dead.

but even so, I saw my reflection in the waters below.

november 17; '18

kingdoms crumbled at the mere mention of his name, calling out for any merciful god to save them from this wrath. blood wept in his name and tainted the ocean’s pure and delicate waters, poisoning all that reside there. demons cowered in fear at his eyes: delicate like the heavens above them, yet filled with the fury of the rocks as great ships crash against them. like thunder and stone and rain and sun this god-like being holds no mercy, no forgiveness and lives only to shatter and destroy: the earth could no longer hold the weight of his soul; it shatters beneath his feet.

and yet, a scarred land takes this cursed child. its terrain is littered with bones of fallen warriors, many holding centuries worth of war and cruelty. each held its own name, its own precious song which it would forever sing into the darkness. plagues diseases crawl into each crack and corner of the wasteland, hiding in the shadows with the demons that lurk, ready to pounce on weak prey. flint-like, bloodied teeth hide amongst the dying creatures, threatening any creature with a sign of life, accompanying its claws drenched in an ominous, oozing liquid.

in the centre this wretched being lays. covered in shackles, his soul remains chained to the earth for eternity to watch and laugh. the purest of heaven’s angels and the most vicious of hell’s demons were one before this creature, both the prey and predator. from the feeble earth rose the once broken and torn gods, caging this diseased despicable land: it was a prison, crafted for nature’s most corrupt yet forlorn beast.

november 18; '18

from her pale, delicate touch dead roses grew, crawling through shadows and luring in even the finest of hell’s demons. it tortured and trapped and tricked the fragile and feeble, devouring all hope and love until all that remained was a mere shell, lying in pale dust. it was a warning, a threat to all of nature’s creatures, and it was treated well: no snow nor rain nor sun would bring life to her soul or skin, to paint her eyes a glorious array of gold and bronze: all that surrounds her is the haunting ambience of life slowly flickering, desperate to erupt into a flame against this cold. the crumbling trees resemble that of a fallen kingdom: looming over, slowly giving in to the harsh weather as thick fog blinds every creature. no birds sung the forest to sleep, no leaves murmured, no bug hummed, no wind blew a whimsical melody.

the orchestra had gone silent.

yet in the centre of this cruel pantomime, where some roses weakly grow, lies an array of bones, carefully cut and crafted like a beautiful, deathly masterpiece. even her cruel touch cannot fathom that of this devilish, sinful thing. it’s scarred and broken, each groove and crack holding the blood of demons and angels and people alike. to him, they were all the same. war and peace intertwined at his hands, as he burnt the sun to the crisp and let the moon rot away. one by one stars were dragged down, the lush earth became a barren and dark wasteland, each sea was drained and all life seemed to bow before him. nature’s masterpiece was torn apart.

and yet cries seemed to be trapped within, like a cage of bones, each dagger and flint that never struck a generous fire were eternally held within this beast. curiously, she listened.

but there was nothing to hear.

dead roses seemed to grow within her. intertwined with her skin, intertwined with her very soul. thorns surrounding her heart, trapping her memories and all prayers and hopes. and although the bones’ shrill melody grew ever louder, she was deaf to its cries.

december 17; '18

a vicious, meagre little creature fed off of the rotting flesh and carcasses that lived here. controlled only by a heinous hunger, it cracked open bones and tore through its meal for the rich, thick blood. its skin was caked in disease and a pulsing, oozing liquid that slowly leaked from its poisoned veins. spider-like limbs reached out in every direction, bent and battered and bruised, in an attempt to walk upon this cursed land. piercing his ragged, yellow skin, bones stuck out and tugged and pulled until he bled.

instinctively, as foreign footsteps trod into its territory, the creature glanced up at its next meal, wolfish teeth barred. as its rat-like, luminous eyes stared at the thing, it saw blood leaked from his dishevelled limbs, and pale, bony fingers reached out to whatever god watches over this cruel realm. a feast was waiting, staring back at the creature: adrenaline poured through its veins, excitement danced on the tips of its toes and fingers, and like that of an animal, swiftly sunk its yellowed teeth into the prey.

like a perverse dance, prey and predator struck at each other, fangs tearing and cutting and scratching, the thing sharply and cleverly biting its delicate eyes. now having to rely only on sound, the creature slunk into the shadows, crawling into the safety of darkness. yet the prey became predator and held no mercy, and carefully, quietly, dragged himself further into the alley. chasing the struggling, grasping breaths, he easily found the dying creature, which lay like a pile of rags on the concrete, and drowning in its own, thick blood.
