Postby -galaxie » Sun Apr 29, 2018 5:07 pm

    personality;
Atticus is an extremely flirtatious kalon. He loves to flirt and tease anyone who is easily flustered and make them blush. He's your stereotypical bad boy that your mom wouldn't want you hanging around and loves to take risks for no reason other than to take the risk. Atticus has a bad temper and doesn't like to be messed with, but deep down he wishes that things were the way they used to be.

    backstory;
    || Part I ||
    Atticus was in love.

There wasn't a moment where he didn't think about his mate of two years and he hoped that they did the same. They were inseparable and did everything together. They had been talking about starting a family and Atticus couldn't have been happier. He loved kits, but he didn't want to rush his mate though, all he ever wanted was for them to be happy.

Atticus planned a night out for him and his mate.
He treated them like royalty and took them to their favorite stores and places in town. They smiled, but something didn't feel right. Hoping that the strange feeling would fade, Atticus brought them to their favorite restaurant. It didn't leave and the smile on his mate's face just seemed to fade as their dinner went on and came to the end. He began to worry if he overwhelmed them and went to say something when they spoke up.

"Atticus, we need to talk." They set down their utensil and looked up at him. No one wants to hear that sentence, no matter the context. He felt his heart pound, but he met their eyes anyways.

"Mhm? What's up dear?" He saw their expression turn more sour at the word 'dear' and he grew even more concerned.

"Atticus..." They fidgeted and looked away from him as he struggled to keep eye contact. "I haven't been being honest these last couple months and I need to come clean and tell you the truth."

There was no good way this conversation was going.

"Atticus, there's someone else. I've been seeing him for four months now and I don't want to keep leading you on." Atticus felt his heart shatter and he couldn't hide his emotions. "We're done."

"W-What...? Wha- I-I don't understand." He felt tears begin well up in his eyes. "You cheated on me? I thought- I thought we were going to start a family soon."

They were silent before getting up and walking out, leaving Atticus alone and the whole restaurant staring at him.

    He heard their whispers.

"Poor guy," xxx "Oh no, I hope he's okay." xxx "That's horrible..."

He didn't want their pity. Slamming his chair in and leaving money for the food, he ran out of the building. To make matters worse for him, it was pouring and all he could do was stand in the rain. Atticus soon was soaked, but could still feel his tears roll down his face.

How dare they do that do him? How dare they embarrass him after he just blew all of that money on them?

He dug his claws into the concrete below him and growled. No matter how hard he tried to control himself, his emotions kept flooding out, leaving him a mess on the side of the road.

    || Part II ||
Months past and Atticus hadn't found a way to cope.
That is until a friend invited him out. He knew he had to leave his apartment at some point for something other than food and other things he needed to live.

Night approached and his friend walked into his room.

"Wow, your front door unlocked and all huh?" Atticus threw a pillow at his face. " I unlocked it for you. You like to come in unannounced anyways." He flopped himself back on the bed , but his friend grabbed him by his ankles and dragged him out.

"As much as I'm digging the messy hair, I'm sure you wouldn't" His friend chuckled before dropping his ankles. Atticus blinked at him before walking over to a mirror.

    Yikes.

Actually, wait. It wasn't that bad, or at least that's what he thought. Messy hair is in anyways, besides he really didn't care what others thought of him at the moment. With some minimal taming and styling, he was ready to go.

That was the night that Atticus had changed.

His friend had abandoned him almost as soon as they walked it, but It didn't take him long to find a kalon who had excluded themselves from the crowd. He related to them, he didn't want to be alone. Their talking soon turned into a different type of conversation.

Atticus began to flirt with them and their face went red almost instantly. There was just something about their face that flipped a switch in him. He soon found himself talking until they left. He wanted more. That one wasn't enough, he needed more.

"Dang, you sure didn't wait to start pulling some moves on 'em." Atticus jumped at his friend suddenly slinging an arm around his shoulder. "Ya gonna call 'em later?" He shook his head making his friend raise an eyebrow.

"That bad?" He again shook his head.

"No, I just wasn't interested in anything other than flirting with them." His friend's eyes widened and he removed his arm from his shoulder.

    "Dang Atticus, how cold."

Part I
"Welcome to the nightlife."
______________________________________________________________________

Atticus leaned his head back and exhaled, smoke from his cigarette swirling around his head.

It was the night of January 20th and man, was it cold in the city. As much as he'd like to say he didn't mind the cold, he really did. It had to have been in the twenties, it was freezing. Atticus took another drag on his cigarette and looked around trying to find a way to amuse himself.

No one was around.

He grumbled and blew out smoke, watching it float into the air. He was bored out of his mind, the nightclub he was waiting outside of wouldn't open for another ten minutes. All Atticus could do was watch the city and endure the cold. Another kalon came from his left and looked at him for a moment before raising an eyebrow at him.

"This- This is the line right?" All Atticus did was nod making the stranger frown and look around them. "This is the middle of the city, how come there's no one here? I heard this place is popular." Atticus rolled his eyes and brought his cigarette back to his mouth.

"Look at the parking lot, everyone's waiting in their cars. I'm just dumb enough to be outside." With that he heard a car door open and shut and a group of kalons make their way towards them. "See?"

The other kalon blushed in embarrassment and played with their hands nervously. "Is there any reason you are so early?" Atticus blew the smoke out from his mouth and shook his head.

A lie.

He was there early to make sure he got what seat he wanted at the bar and to talk with a bartender named Zen before the rush came, but it looked like tonight was going to be busy. It didn't matter, this guy didn't need to know. Atticus wasn't interested in him in any way shape or form.

Finally one of the bouncers opened the door and saw Atticus. He chuckled and said something along the lines of 'it being great to see him again', Atticus told him the same before walking in and making his way to the bar. He quickly spotted Zen, still wiping down the counter and preparing for the night.

"Well, Well, Well, look who's slinking their way in here." Zen jokingly sneered and slapped his towel on the counter. "What do you want to start with tonight?" Atticus plopped himself down and hummed out loud for a moment before answering.

"Gimme a water Zen." He grabbed his money out of his pocket. Zen looked annoyed and pushed his money towards him.

"You know that water is free, you weirdo. Ordering a water at the bar at the beginning of the night's not like you." He said spinning himself around to grab and class and filled up his cup. He slid the cup over to him and looked around before leaning himself over the counter.

"Hard day or just that easy?" Atticus took a large gulp before waving him off.

"All's good, It's early in the night. I gotta plan out my attacks, can't mess up my reputation." He winked making Zen roll his eyes and push off the counter.

"God, I wish you didn't have a reputation. Y'know, I get people asking about you every now and again. Some want to meet you, others want to avoid you." He laughed and grabbed his towel, putting it over his shoulder. Atticus smirked and huffed before grabbing his glass again.

"Oh really? What motivates these kals to want to meet me?" He laughed and swirled his glass around, ice clinking against the glass. Zen stood there for a moment before sighing.

"Uh, honestly I've got no clue. Probably just wanna see if you're as good of a flirt as the rumors make you out to be." Atticus hummed at him and watched a stranger make their way to the bar. He smirked and looked back to Zen

"You and I both have a job tonight." Zen rolled his eyes again and grumbled at him.

"I have a job, you have a hobby." Zen smirked back at him before walking off to where the stranger sat.

Part II
"The famous stranger."
______________________
The bartender tonight wasn't one he was familiar with, but he apparently knew him. They made small talk for some time when the bartender stopped and his jaw dropped. Apparently his 'favorite' singer just walked through the door and the kalon behind the counter was fanboying and gushing about how great his music was. Between his babbling he managed to get the singer's name out of the newbie.

Avery Quinn.

Atticus watched him like a hawk and soon understood why so many kalons were swarming the singer. His eyes were soft and orange and the hearts on the sides of his cheeks made him even more charming. He greeted everyone that he could and had a genuine smile on his face while he did so. The bouncers soon swooped in and escorted him inside and to the bar, but he politely waved them off as soon as he sat down and thanked them for helping him out. The bartender was a blubbering mess when he asked him for a water

Wow, how boring.

Something about this guy annoyed Atticus. He didn't know why he was annoyed by how polite and genuine he was, but he was. They sat in silence for some time, but little did everyone know, Atticus was planning his next move. With a small smirk he raised his hand.

"Excuse me Mr. Bartender, but may I have a Mimosa?" He almost purred. The singer looked over at him as the bartender made his way over to the glasses, clearly upset that Atticus pulled him away from his 'favorite' singer. The bartender reluctantly did his job and prepared him drink, Avery watching him the whole time. He gave him the drink before trying to go back to Avery, but soon realized the bar was becoming crowded and angrily flung a towel over his shoulder and walked off to the others at the bar. Atticus smirked at the famous stranger before taking a sip of his drink.

Avery gave him a sly smile back and drank his water. Atticus chuckled and held his drink.
"So Avery's your name huh?" Atticus took a small sip of the orange drink. "I hear you've got quite the voice." Avery gave a small laugh, making the kalons around look their way. Avery ducked down for a second and covered his head, trying to avoid the others in the room. Atticus raised an eyebrow and lowered his drink.

"Thanks, sorry 'bout that. You never know who's watching." Atticus nodded, but still kept his plan in mind.

"Well Avery, the name's Atticus, Atticus Wolfe." Atticus swore he saw him blush, but he didn't let him know.

Avery hummed and leaned on his hand. "Well Atticus, it's nice to meet you. It seems you already know me." Whatever Atticus was doing, it was working. He raised his eyebrows again and gave him another smirk.

"As much as I'd love to say I do, it seems the whole room knows you more than I do." Avery laughed to himself and covered his mouth with a hand.

"Well I'll tell you this much, I haven't ever been in a nightclub or anything of the sort. So this is all, new to me." Atticus nodded and kept listening. " I'm from a small town in Michigan, so the busyness of every city I go to is almost... unnerving? I don't know how to put it, but I like it here. New York is nice." Atticus nodded again.

"Yeah, but this place is nuts. I don't ever drive in the city, it's way too dangerous in my eyes. So really, what brings you to the Big Apple? You have a concert anytime soon?" Avery blushed and avoided his eyes.

How cute.

"Ye-Yea, It's uh- It's tomorrow and I'm totally avoiding the set up right now. Though, my manager said I didn't have to go, I still feel bad for not being there y'know?" Avery grabbed his water and took a sip before cradling the cup.

They sat for sometime making small talk, the bartender and the rest of the room still watching them, wondering what they were talking about. With some more talk, Atticus found himself in a different room entirely, neither of them remembering how they got there. He couldn't lie, he was having a nice time, but there's something he wanted out of it.

He finally got what he wanted out of the pretty singer he met earlier that night.

They kissed, no Atticus didn't take any pictures. He didn't want to ruin this guy's life, he really was a good guy and deserved the fame he had. That didn't stop Atticus from blowing him off and never talking to him again. He did keep that number in his phone as a trophy, though a hidden one that is.

From what he knows, Avery might have written a song about him and good for him. The song reached the charts as he expected and Atticus was even proud of him.

At least he took something meaningful from that night, because Atticus sure didn't.

Part III
"The one he wished he forgot."
______________________________________________________________________

There they were, at the entrance of the club.

The memories flooded back into his brain, but he didn't let it show. Atticus sipped his drink and looked at his friend, the bartender.

"Just my luck, huh Zen?" He hummed into his cup and laughed bitterly making Zen set down the cup he was cleaning.

"Just ignore them, you don't need 'em." Zen sighed and looked over to the tap then back to Atticus. "Look how about this, drinks are on me tonight, but for the love of god don't drive yourself home. I'll drive you to your complex as soon as I'm done with my shift, alright?" Atticus glared over to where he saw them last and rolled his eyes whenever he saw them.

"Thanks man." He set his glance down and scanned the room, ignoring the spot he last saw his ex.

Zen and Atticus sat in silence for some time, trying to get over the awkward and uncomfortable atmosphere.

Atticus had a sudden change in attitude and grabbed his drink and quickly downed the rest. He looked around the bar and who was sat next to him before getting up and making his way to kalon who had excluded herself from the crowd. Zen sighed and ran a hand through his hair, knowing how the night was going to go down.

He sat himself down next to the girl and smiled softly to her. She smiled back at him and looked down to her drink.

"What's a pretty girl like you doing over here by yourself?" He began to make a move and the other kalon blushed and began to stutter.

Her explanation didn't matter, she didn't know who he was and that was good for him. His advances worked rather quickly and he almost felt bad for her. The girl was soon attached to Atticus and he had his arm draped around her.

He almost forgot about them, that is until they sat themself down next to him.

Again, just his luck.

He glared and scoffed at their presence, making his new fling freeze up and look at their hands.

"H-Hey Atticus, I'm gonna go and use the bathroom. I'll be back." Atticus removed his arm from her and made a noise to acknowledge her words. He knew she wouldn't be back, it was a classic way to get away from a situation that he himself used from time to time.

That left him and them, sitting in silence. That is until they moved their hair and turned to him.

"It's been awhile."

He audibly scoffed at their words and brought his drink to his mouth.

"What does it matter?" He wasn't here to reconcile, he was here to be numb and have others faun over him. His ex frowned and looked at their own drink before looking back at him, desperately trying to achieve eye contact.

"Atticus please, I-I.." He looked over to them, his gaze cold and unforgiving. "I'm so sorry. You didn't deserve that. I can't believe I did that to you." He saw their tears. He didn't care to feel any pity.

"I miss you. Can we please just talk?"

Atticus smirked and looked down at his cup then back to them. "Nah, there's nothing to talk about. You cheated and now I'm here getting more attention than you ever gave me. " He set his glass down and got up.

"I'm not going to let you back in my life, you don't deserve it."

Atticus walked off, leaving his ex alone at the bar, stunned with the whole nightclub staring at them.

Though Avery and Atticus weren't ever personally close, they definitely won't ever forget the night that they shared together. The two hit it off as soon as they spoke, even though he wouldn't want to admit it. Sadly, all Avery ever was to Atticus was another fling at one of the many nightclubs he visits.

Zen and Atticus met at Atticus's favorite nightclub. Zen was a bartender there at The Loophole for about a year before he met him and when they did meet it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. The two of them despised each other and would make sure to avoid each other as much as possible. That is until one night when another kalon became unruly and tried to attack Zen and Atticus stepped in and came to his rescue. After that there was a mutual respect that soon turned into a friendship. Now the two of them banter like old friends and meet each other for lunch every now and then.
