diro has always been a shy boy. he spent a lot of his childhood indoors,
watching cartoons and playing video games. the media he grew up with
had a huge influence on how he looks at the world. his favorite hobby
growing up was collecting weird toys from his childhood, the uglier
the better in his eyes. he eventually ended up spending so much time
in the local thrift stores that he became a well known face, and had
a vast knowledge of the value of certain items. it quickly began to
pay off, as his insight on these weird items soon became very profitable.
diro decided when he grew up, he'd make his own cool vintage toy store
to sell the items he'd collected over the years. in 2007, he finally
unveiled his shop and it became a haven for 90's nerds everywhere. it
was a lot of fun connecting with other kalons his age who watched the
same weird shows he had grown up with.

Oh, that? I got that from the old arcade.
They were just...throwing away all these
cool vintage arcade machines and scrapping
them... I grabbed this as they were hauling
them away. I just couldn't stand to see
them tearing my childhood machines
apart... so I keep this as a reminder to keep
trying to preserve these cool things.

Ah, my controllers! Those are super cool. See,
me and my best friend decided to start
collecting all the weird bootleg controllers we
find at every thrift store we find them in. They
are so awful, I just love how weird these can
be. I have this one I got at a flea market that
has little Spongebobs and Patricks on it for no
reason.. I could go on all day about these...

Oh! That's my little alien guy... I got him for
my 12th birthday. He is one of my first figurines
I ever got. He's been the inspiration for me to
start finding all the cool characters from my
childhood and gather them all into one spot.
It's fun, it's almost like a childhood reunion
for me or something. I love collecting them!

I've kept around since high school... my
best friend cracked it during a game we
were playing out of frustration, it's leaking
fluid. I haven't had the heart to throw it
away, though, it brings back so many
memories from those days... they sure don't
make 'em like this anymore...*sigh*

Uh... Sorry to break it to you, but the music's
actually playing out of my iPhone! That hasn't
played music since 2005... it's my childhood
boombox, and it's covered with some really
cool stickers from the 90's. I keep it around
because some of them are really rare... plus,
it's super trendy! I remember rocking this
back in the day. Such good memories with it...
