ғᴀᴅᴇᴅ ᴘʀᴏᴍɪsᴇs
"ʜᴏᴘᴇs ғᴀᴅɪɴɢ..."

The sunlight streaming through her small window faded as all Avy's hope evaporated. He'd promised to come... to save her from the demons that lurked in the shadows. It had been a year four months and seven days since he claimed he would save her. Four months and seven days since he said he would arrive and whisk her away. Seven days since she'd eagerly peered out the window, waiting, watching for her so called "hero". This whole time was marked with claw marks in the walls, etched in so she would always remember. Time to face the facts. "Hopes fading..." She murmured as she came to realize her problems. She was trapped, never to get out, and even if she did she's never be the same. Her life, as well as her emotions, were buried deep in a hole and no matter how hard she tried she couldn't seem to get them out. Why was she here anyways? It was becoming harder and hard to remember. Her mind was blank, memories blurred around the edges. Tilting her forehead against the cool stone, she closed her eyes. When she finally opened them, she spotted a firefly, one wing stuck out at an awkward angle. Watching as it struggled up the stone wall, she pitied it. It was nearly impossible for the frail creature to reach the window. Just as this thought crossed her mind, it did. Flashing an glow of yellow, it made it's way down the other side, leaving Avy to her thoughts. If it wouldn't give up then neither would she. She would keep trying. Or.. at least stay strong. Once this decision was made, she heard the jingle of keys. Oh no. Not again. Shaking her head, she rose unsteadily onto her paws and straightened her back, lifting her head up defiantly. She would, she had to, get through this with her confidence still in tact. It was the only way now.

Avy took a deep breath. It was too risking to use "it" now, but she'd been buying her time, saving her physical energy instead to use at the right moment. Now was the time. Soon, just as she predicted, footsteps echoed down the hallway, along with the jingle of keys. All familiar to Avy, and she knew the guards thought she'd oblige as usual. They were in for a big surprise. The door creaked open to reveal a tall lanky viscet, decked out in the usual black armour and mask. Usually something that struck fear into her heart, now something she could use to her advantage. She grinned what must've been a wide, feral grin because the guard took a step back. While she couldn't see their face, she could sense their fear. It didn't take long to pin the guard down, strip them of their armour and take their keys. Pulling the armour straps tight and slipping the mask over her head, she left the guard knocked out and locked in the room that was full of her sorrow. Now she wasn't feeling sorrow though. No, she was feeling rage. Pent up rage that had been held in for too long, rage that was white hot and caused her blood to boil. But she must contain herself. She had to get out. By the time she located the front door, guards were scrambling around, no doubt looking for their missing prisoner. They didn't want their boss to find out or it'd be trouble for all of them. It wasn't a surprise that in the chaos she was able to slip out, unseen. Ditching the uniform in the river beside the fortress so she could travel faster, she took off, desperate to get as far away from her prison as possible. Finally, free! After two years, 6 months and 20 days she could smell the fresh air again. By the time she reached the forest, her former home, the sky was darkening. She'd have to keep going as this was the first place they'd look. But it couldn't hurt to stop. It would be awhile till they even thought of searching out of the fortress because even though they were stealthy the guards weren't very bright. Just as she was about to break into a run, she felt eyes on her. This feeling was familiar... the same one she felt before she met... "Come out." She hissed, whirling around when she realized who it was. Another emerged from the shadows, and she felt her heart break as her former lover, the one person she used to trust, approached her. "You got out." He sounded surprised, but his voice was the same as she remembered. Low and rumbly his voice carrying for miles once he raised his voice. "No thanks to you." Snapping, she felt the anger from earlier return. Actually it had always been there, she was just too pleased at freedom to notice. "You promised." It took all her strength to keep her voice from wavering. "I'm sorry. I should've come sooner. I got pulled away, honest." He had the decency to look sad. But beneath the mask of sorrow she saw one thing- guilt. Instead of saying anything, Avy set her jaw and stayed silent. "Avy, please." His voice turned pleading. "I was just on my way, I've been scouting, waiting for the right chance. I'm here for you now. Always and forever. I love you." He took a step forward, and thats when she shoved him away, pushing him into the dirt. Turning away as she spoke, her voice was cold as ice as she said, "Why now? When there's nothing left? I'm drowning... I have been for awhile and you come now? You don't love me. You only love YOURSELF." She screamed the last word, holding back tears. "You knew. You knew I was suffering. You could tell I was lost. Yet you were off galavanting with others. Save me you petty apologies and pleas. I'm done. We're done. I think you've known for awhile. Goodbye." With that, she took off, leaving the confused viscet in the dust. And with only the moon and stars as a witness, she sobbed, crying until there was nothing left.

"ɪᴛ"

Postby universal song » Tue Jan 09, 2018 12:11 pm

"ɪᴛ"
"ɪᴛ ɴᴇᴇᴅs ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴋᴇᴘᴛ ʜɪᴅᴅᴇɴ ᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ ᴄᴏsᴛs."

Avy was young. Perhaps too young to have such a great burden bestowed upon her.

    Image
The sun hung high in the sky, scorching the ground beneath it. A young viscet, crystals growing from her back, was splashing alone in the river. She dived under, giggling as fish darted past. By the time she ran out of air and submerged once more, dark clouds had rolled across the sky. It was rather odd, because in a matter of seconds the wind picked up and thunder crashed in the sky. Scared, young Avy scrambled for cover, soaking wet as she dove under a rocky alcove. Suddenly, a bright light, a lightening strike, appeared before her eyes. Shuffling backwards, she coughed as the smoke cleared. Before her stood a... viscet? Whatever it was crackled with electricity as its socket-less eyes stared down at her. "Hush now child. No need to fear." Its voice was static and caused her to wince. "I am here because you have been chosen. Chosen to carry a great power, one that will make you special." Unmoving and silent, she peered up at it with wide eyes. With a frustrated sigh, it opened its mouth. "You will learn." And with that, a blinding flash of light came barreling towards her, followed by searing pain before she met darkness.

By the time Avy was awake, it was nighttime and there wasn't a cloud in sight. Except a strange glow was emitting from somewhere. Raising her head, she was shocked to see her body crackling with electricity. The power was electricity. It was rather odd and it took her a few tries to stop her hair from standing on end and the purple streaks to stop circling her. Once she had completed this rather exhausting task, she curled up once more, still in the alcove. "It needs to be kept hidden at all costs." She murmured to herself. Even though young, she had a bad feeling if she was discovered bad things would happen. Dismissing her worries, she closed her eyes, promising to work on her newfound power come morning.

ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇɢɪɴɴɪɴɢ

ᴛʜᴇ ʙᴇɢɪɴɴɪɴɢ
"ɪ ᴡɪsʜ ɪᴛ ᴅɪᴅɴ'ᴛ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴛʜɪs ᴡᴀʏ..."

    Image
Avy was a young promising viscet. She lived in an ancient tribe for the first few years of her life. They valued their traditions, unlike many other viscets who abandoned the old ways for modern times. The thing was, she spent her years alone as of her odd looks and behaviours. While most of the other kids loved to play, she was known to hiss and stretch them, earning her the nickname "soulless devil". She'd cried for a week afterwards, in a little den away from the tribes camp that she'd made for herself. Often she seemed to be intelligent above her age level, exceeding in lessons and asking questions about the world only the smartest of adults would even think of. The one question that she constantly asked though, the one that was repeated like a broken record, was "Who are my parents?". Constantly she would be informed that, it was unknown, as she was found one night, glowing like a star as if she'd fallen from the heavens. Yet she knew they were hiding something. She had to know the truth, so she kept trying.

The sun was just peaking over the horizon by the time Avy awoke. Groaning, she clambered out of her little den. Just as she stretched, an unmistakable aroma filled the air. Cooked fish! She practically sprinted to camp, eager for breakfast. "Mmm, smells good!" She said, beaming at the tribes cook, an elderly women who was kind to all. "Would you like some?" The elder asked. She nodded so eagerly she thought her head may fall off. Suddenly a piece of food was launched into the air, charred yet she could still see the silvery scales underneath the grime. In an instant she was in the air, snapping her jaws around the fish before landing again, swallowing as she did so. "Sooo good! Thanks! I'm going to see Alpha, okay?" But the elder was already lost in thought, giving her a distant nod. Shrugging, she trotted off, crystals glittering in the rising sun. Just before she reached the alphas tent, a gang of viscets her age strode up to her, sneering in turn. "Oh look, it's that brainwasher." One taunted. Avy remained silent, ears flattening against her head. Another scowled, saying, "I bet the demon sleeps alone because no one will welcome her around here." By now she was clenching her fists. "Yep, because no one wants to be around something as soulless as her." That was it. In a flash, she had one pinned by the neck while the other screamed after she delivered a harsh blow to their muzzle before tackling the one. The noise drew curious eyes towards her, but they made no move to break up the fight. "What's going on here?" A voice boomed as strong paws pried her away. Baring her teeth, she whirled around to face the defender. But.. it was Alpha. He did not look happy. "My tent, now." He said dragging her off, ignoring her protests. "They started it... Hey! That hurts!" With surprising force, she was shoved inside the Alpha's tent, with him pacing in front of her. "You've left me no choice Avy." He said, turning to face her. "Your grounded in the camp." Then she exploded. "WHAT! You know I can't do that! Its not fair." Steaming, she turned around, back to him. "You don't understand me. No one does. You leave me no choice. I'm gone." Walking out of the tent, she said over her shoulder, "I wish it didn't have to be this way...." With that she picked up her pace into a sprint, running late into the night, searching for a new home.

ᴇɴᴇᴍɪᴇs

Postby universal song » Sat Jan 13, 2018 2:13 pm

ᴇɴᴇᴍɪᴇs

Avy has many enemies. The list could go on forever, counting those who believe she's a monster due to her powers. She has three main ones, those who have hurt her in the past.

    1. The Shadow Man. She does not know his looks, nor his name. He always bore a cloak, hood up, when she saw him. All she knows is his deep, raspy voice that makes her blood boil. The Shadow Man captured her and trapped her in his fortress when he found out about her powers. He then used them, draining her powers daily, using it for the unknown worry that always seemed to haunt her in the back of the mind before she escaped. Plenty of guards stood by his side, others went along because they cowered in fear under his influence. She hates him to the core, he was the one person who caused her both emotional and physical pain, destroying her relationships, friends, everything. Now if she could turn back time she would have saved the friends she lost... and got rid of her former lover before it was to late.

    2. Her former lover. The one person who unlocked her heart, and she had thought he held the key. Yet he betrayed her, used her, and left her to death. It was never fair in her eyes, yet now all she feels is a pure hatred towards him. She thought he was helping her open her eyes, yet now she knows he was really blinding her, slowly backing her into a corner in which she could not escape. The one who caused her the most emotional pain, even though his actions caused her to feel like she'd been wounded.

    3. Avy's old tribe, believe it or not. While you may be thinking her little rebellion was the first stages of her becoming a teen, and thats part of it. Yet they had lied to her for so long... her frustration had built up. She'd been informed many times to stay positive, tuck the negative emotions, but holding it in was tearing her from the inside out. Now she has no feeling for them. Actually, she was a little better till she earned her powers... something that was also held in and extremely hard to control. Her anger has still been building up over the years, and she really is tempted to go back and confront them, find out about her parents, and never look back. But deep down she's afraid of the reactions, the answers, the hate.

Now for friends..... ha! She's a lone wolf. Doesn't have any and quite frankly, doesn't want any.
