✦Friend 1: Kahina✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:43 pm

Kahina's Information

The sun barely hung onto the horizon, the sky flooded with a large variety of vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple as the sun had begun to set. It was about 8 pm on a summer evening, which meant the sun was out for much longer and made it feel a lot earlier than it actually was. Valeriya had served her final customer in her little cafe for the evening and was closing up shop when her blue eyes were drawn to the window. The lights in her shop were off, the only light source being the sky and sun outdoors. In the distance, she saw Kahina closing up her booth as well for the evening and was about to leave. Valeriya had grown to be intriguingly fond of Kahina, frequently visiting her fortune telling booth and coming out each time absolutely amazed.

Once her shop was fully closed for the evening, Valeriya walked out the front door and heard the final ping of the doorbell for the evening, feeling the breeze against her fur as the door closed behind her. She glanced side to side to see if any other viscets were in her path before quickly darting across the street after Kahina. Noticing how far away Kahina actually was, Valeriya parted her jaws and yelled, trying to make her tone as welcoming and calm as possible, despite it being a yell. "Hey, Kahina!" Kahina stopped in her current position and turned to see Valeriya, then shifted uneasily as her facial expression turned to that of being puzzled. Kahina wasn't used to meeting new faces outside of her booth, so having someone shout her name out of the blue was something she found alarming and startling.

Valeriya finally caught up to Kahina, panting by the time she got to her. After taking a moment to regain her breath, Valeriya tilted her head up and spoke softly. "Hey. I saw you closing up shop, and thought maybe I would come over here and talk to you. We haven't talked outside of the fortune telling booth, so I thought it would be cool if we talked more." Kahina looked at Valeriya in silence briefly, an uneasy feeling still present in her as she looked at Valeriya. She then relaxed, her tense shoulders returning to their original positions as she spoke. "Alright.. Sorry, I usually don't talk to people other than customers throughout most of the day." Valeriya looked at her and smiled warmly before speaking in a reassuring tone. "Oh, don't worry about that. We could get to know each other better over a coffee at my cafe sometime. It would be on the house." Kahina nodded, a small smile appearing on her muzzle for a brief moment before she replied. "Yeah, sounds great. If I can find a free moment outside of my booth."

✦Friend 2: Mellantollak✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:44 pm

Mellantollak's Info

It was a rainy afternoon, the sky was flooded with gray clouds that brought rain upon the ground. The cafe was reasonably empty, and Valeriya stood at the front counter alone. The other workers had gone home for the day, since there was no activity and they couldn't be bothered to linger around bored for another several hours. Valeriya had begun to doze off when the usual ping when the door was opened sounded, and her blue eyes rose up to meet two viscets that had walked in through the entrance. One had a dark base coat while they had a large variety of several vibrant markings varying from the colors yellow and green, while the other had a white base and many blue and markings that stood out against the white. Once they found their seats, Valeriya made her way over and smiled at him. "Hi! Welcome to the cafe. I'm Valeriya, and I'll be serving you today. How may I get you started?" The two viscets exchanged glances, thinking for a brief moment before the male spoke. "Nice to meet you too. Could we have two coffees and two biscuits?"

Valeriya smiled and nodded, confirming the order on a little notepad she had. "Sure thing! I'll be back out shortly." Valeriya returned behind the counter, making her way into the kitchen. She got two cups along with two plates down from the top shelf, then leaned down and got a larger tray out from the bottom drawer. She placed the plates and cups on it neatly before she went over to a fresh pot of coffee and took it out, quickly walking back over to the cups. She poured the coffee, filling both cups almost to the rim as she assumed these would be the last two customers in for the day. She then opened an oven nearby and got out one of the pans of steaming biscuits, carefully placing them on each plate. After cleaning up her mess, she picked up the tray holding the coffee and biscuits in one paw, making her way back out. She approached the table and put the coffee down in front of them, along with the biscuits shortly after. "Nice and fresh for you two. I hope you enjoy. Also, it's on me today." She said with a cheerful smile. "May I ask what your names are?"

"I'm Mellantollak," The male viscet said quietly before taking a careful sip of his coffee, allowing his mate to introduce herself. "Oh, and I'm Abbey. It's nice to meet you, thank you for paying for us." Valeriya looked at Abbey and nodded, acknowledging what she said. "You're welcome. Enjoy your time, Mellantollak and Abbey." Valeriya gave one last smile before turning and walking back to the front counter with the now empty tray.

✦Friend 3: Arlo✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:48 pm

Arlo's Information

Valeriya entered the mall, which was packed. It was 3 in the afternoon, shortly after the majority of the schools had dismissed. It was not uncommon for teenagers to head to the mall after school, so not only was the food court packed, but many of the shops nearby were as well. She made her way down the wide and cramped hallways, headed for a sweets shop near the end of the mall. It had an assortment of sweets, ranging from chocolate to gummies to even marshmallows! She was headed there to pick up more marshmallows for her hot chocolate recipe along with some chocolate to melt down for the center of a cake for a child's birthday party.

She finally made it to the shop after fighting through the crowd. As she headed into the entrance, a viscet charging towards the shop door crashed into her, her force of the impact sending her to the ground with a faint thud. Valeriya turned towards the viscet, her fur on her cheeks turning light pink when she saw the viscet on the floor. "Are you alright?" She said urgently, putting her paw forward to help the viscet up. Arlo gazed up and laughed softly, taking her paw and dragging herself up to her feet. "Oh, you're fine! I was just really, really eager to get my favorite marshmallows. I'm sorry about crashing into you, I just really love those marshmallows and it's a busy hour, so I wanted to get out of here quickly! I'm Arlo, what's your name?" Valeriya smiled at Arlo, relieved that she wasn't mad about falling to the floor. "I'm Valeriya, it's a pleasure to meet you. You seem nice, and I'm here for marshmallows too. Care to join me?" Arlo looked up at her, smiling happily. "Really? I'd love to tag along, I love making friends."

"Then come on in with me. I run a cafe and needed a few things to make some more hot chocolate. You should visit it sometime, it's just a couple blocks down from here and it's called Valeriya's Homestyle Cafe. I'd be happy to give you some of the marshmallows on the side." Arlo looked up at her, her eyes lighting up at the thought of marshmallows. "Yeah, sounds great!" Valeriya then lead Arlo into the store, guiding her to the marshmallow section.

✦Bestfriend: Nine✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:50 pm

Nine's Information

The cafe had just opened, the sweet scent of all the freshly baked goods flooding the room. Valeriya was at the front counter,
awaiting the first customer of the day. The bell rang and Valeriya smiled, always glad to see any customer coming into the cafe. When she looked up, she saw a brown and cream colored viscet who looked a little shy. She wore a scarf with several designs of fish on it and had doubtful blue eyes. As she approached the counter, Valeriya tilted her chin up and spoke happily as she greeted her. "Hello! I'm Valeriya, I'm the owner of Valeriya's Homestyle Cafe. How about we get you a seat and I'll get you started." The viscet nodded, speaking quietly as Valeriya guided her to a table. "Thank you, Valeriya. I'm Nine.."

"Oh, not a problem at all, chick. So, what would you like today?" Nine's eyes shifted over to the menu in front of her, her eyes looking over the print before she returned her gaze to Valeriya. "Could I get a hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll, please?" Valeriya took a pen that was tucked behind her ear and wrote on a small notepad, nodding her head to acknowledge her order. "Of course! I'll have that ready for you in a jiff." As Valeriya turned and began to walk away, Nine glanced over at the front desk and saw a book shelf. She saw the stem of one of her favorite books and a smile appeared on her face before she spoke up. "Hey, Valeriya.." Valeriya turned back around and smiled. "Yes? Do you want something else?"

"No, I-I just wanted to say you have good taste in books. I like those books too." Valeriya looked over at her book shelf and smiled proudly briefly before looking back at Nine. "Oh, thank you! Would you like me to bring you some of them so you can read while eating?" Nine's eyes lit up and she nodded shyly. "Yes, please!" Valeriya walked behind the counter and grabbed a few of the books, walking back over to Nine. She gently placed them on the table to her right, making sure there was still plenty of space for her hot chocolate and cinnamon bun. Nine grabbed one of the books, specifically the one that made her acknowledge them in the first place, opening it as she spoke softly. "Thank you so much, Valeriya.. I think I'll be visiting this cafe more often." Valeriya looked at Nine, a big smile appearing on her face as she looked at her. "I'd be glad to see you more! Perhaps we could meet somewhere else and hang out for a while some time?"

"Yeah, that sounds fantastic! Thank you for being so kind.." Valeriya nodded, a soft smile appearing on her face as her blue eyes gleamed with happiness and pride. "You're welcome. I'll be back out here with your order, and since you're the only one here right now, we can talk some more." Valeriya then turned and walked away, opening the door to the kitchen. She then began to prepare Nine's order.

✦Enemy 1: McCoy✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:50 pm

McCoy's Information

It was about 10 at night, the sky black and the clouds gray, the only sources of light being the twinkling stars and glistening white moonlight. The cafe had been opened overtime for a child's birthday celebration, leaving Valeriya completely drained as she walked to her house. Her eyes had gradually begun to shut more and more as she walked, almost dozing off as she did so. She was then startled back to a state of being fully awake when she felt her foot fly down into a pothole on the side of the sidewalk. It flung her forward, twisting her ankle at an angle it wasn't meant to be at, causing her to tumble down a hill at full speed. She finally came to a stop, disoriented at the bottom of the hill. A pain throbbed in her right angle, a pain almost unbearable.

But being as determined as she was, she carefully rolled over onto her stomach, sticking her right leg in the air in order to prevent further damage from happening to it. She crouched over, putting both of her much shorter front legs against the ground, similar to that of a baby viscet's walk. She then began to hobble back up onto the sidewalk, briefly glancing around to see if there was any sort of doctor's office nearby. Her blue eyes met the city, her eyes eventually catching the bright stained glass of window as a decoration for a doctor's office. She took a sharp breath in, her ankle stinging as she slowly made her way down to the doctor's office. Once at the front doors, she leaned against it and forced herself up onto her left back paw, keeping the right one in the air. She pushed the door open, stumbling forward towards the floor. Before she could make impact, she allowed her front paws to fall against the ground again, holding her frame up as she hobbled over to the front desk.

"Good evening, may I get assistance from a doctor as soon as possible?" She heard the quick typing of the viscet at the front desk stop, their eyes shifting over to Valeriya. "Sure thing. May I ask for your name?" Valeriya nodded before she spoke. "Valeriya. I-i'm gonna go sit, just tell them to call my name when it's my turn." She then stumbled over to one of the seats, taking a seat. She sighed in relief, her right leg tingling as the blood began to flow back into it from being held back up for so long. Valeriya eventually dozed off, her head leaned back against the wall behind her.

When she woke up to a doctor saying her name from across the room, the sunrise was peering over the horizon and able to be seen through the windows of the office. The wait had been tremendously long, because so many others had been there when she arrived. Valeriya rose to her hind paws, forgetting that her right ankle had been damaged and groaned in pain, quickly raising it up off the ground. So that's why I'm here.. She shook her head and hopped over to the nurse, placing her paw around their shoulder. "Sorry, but I need some help getting there." The nurse nodded and guided her to an office, allowing her to lay down on the cot. "A doctor will be with you shortly." Valeriya then lay there for the next few minutes in silence, her blue eyes locked on the ceiling of the office. She heard the door creak open and soon a viscet with black fur and a vibrant gradient of blue to red skeleton markings walked in, closing the door behind. He then sat down in his seat, looking at Valeriya. "Hello, my name is McCoy and I'll be your doctor today. Alright, so what did you do and what's hurting?"

"Well, I was walking home last night and I fell down a hill. Ever since then, my ankle has been hurting real bad. I think I might've broken it or at the very least twisted it." McCoy leaned forward from his chair, scooting it forward in order to examine the ankle.
"Hmm.. It is quite swollen. Let's take a better look at it." McCoy rose to his feet, going over to the x-ray machine. He guided it directly over her ankle and attempted to scan it, but Valeriya was anxiously moving her ankle. "Hey, hold still!" He said in an annoyed and impatient tone, his eyes shifting over to her. "Sorry, I'm just anxious.." She mumbled, having to bite her tongue in order to keep a rude remark in. You're a doctor, you don't need to be so rude.. She subconsciously began to move her ankle again and he said once more, his voice raised. "I said stop moving. I'm the medic, I know what I'm doing." Overconfident in skill..

Once he got the x-ray, he sighed and shook his head. "Alright, you just have a sprained ankle. I'll give you some crutches and a wrap to place around it. Just ice it and rest for a few days, it should be good after that." He briefly left the room to get the crutches,
leaving Valeriya to sit in silence, still fuming over the impatience he posed as a doctor. Never getting that doctor again.

✦Enemy 2: Marguerite✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Thu Jun 08, 2017 3:59 pm

Marguerite's Information

It was the last block of the day, and as the bell rung, the teacher spoke up and gestured to a paper displayed on the front board. "Good afternoon, students. Now, I know what I'm going to say next will make some of you mad, but if I hear and groans or whining, you will be given referrals." Valeriya stayed silent and stiff. While she never really did complain about a project, when a teacher said that they wouldn't like it, they were usually either right or being sarcastic. "We will be starting a new group project centering around the lesson we just got done with. You are to make a book report, however you are able to do it in any form except for an essay. This could be a movie trailer, a poster, or even a jigsaw puzzle. You will be graded on creativity, accuracy, and just your general understanding of the book. Now, I know you are all looking at the friends you want to be with. But rest assured that I have already picked out groups for you." The last sentence was what got a few groans from the class. The teacher swiftly wrote the names of the members that groaned before she began to list off the group.

She listed off several names before Valeriya's attention went back to the teacher when her name was called. "Valeriya and Marguerite will also be in this group." Valeriya glanced over at Marguerite briefly out of curiosity. She had never talked to her, only heard her answer a few questions during class. She seemed intelligent, Valeriya thought. After all the groups were listed off, the teacher told the groups to separate and begin planning what they were going to present to the class.

Valeriya guided the other group mates over to Marguerite, moving several desks so all of them could be in the same circle. She took her seat and began to speak. "Hello, I'm Valeriya for those of you who don't know me. I hope this group works nicely, you all seem smart and I will enjoy working with you. Now, let's begin planning exactly what we would do. Do any of you have any suggestions for what you yourself would like to do?" Valeriya's blue eyes shifted from viscet to viscet, then Marguerite began to speak.

"Well, we could go with the movie trailer thing she suggested. I could play the main role and make the scripts, all of that stuff."
She spoke confidently as Valeriya sat in silence, looking her over carefully as doubt began to fill her gaze. Oh no. Please don't tell me she's self absorbed. "Well, Marguerite, we all have to do some sort of work, you can't just do everything. You got to trust the others in our group, y'know?" Marguerite looked at Valeriya, an almost dauntingly confident smile appearing on her face. "Ah, well I think I'm perfect for the role! I'm in drama, I think I have the most experience out of everyone in this group, I'll lead." Valeriya's interest and confident in Marguerite instantly went away as she analyzed her in silence briefly before continuing to speak.

"Look, I'm glad you're confident in your skill, but you need to realize you need to trust the others. If you make it seem like you did all the work, then it could backfire on us." Marguerite looked at Valeriya, a puzzled look briefly on her face before she spoke again.
"Well, that's your grade. I'm more worried about my own." Valeriya bit her tongue briefly, then sighed softly as she spoke as calmly as possible. "Look. I'm not going to tolerate you doing all the work. I care about my grade, as well as all the others in this group.
I'll be the one leading." Marguerite then went silent, quietly pouting to herself as her purple eyes shifted away from Valeriya.

✦Crush: Joq✦

Postby Hidori Blaith » Sat Jun 10, 2017 5:22 pm

Joq's Information

Valeriya's alarm went off in the back of the kitchen, signalling that it was time for everyone who had worked overtime to clock out. Raising to her feet, she turned to her bag and sifted her paw through it, finding her ticket for a play she was going to see down the street at the local theater. She also looked through it for extra cash and once she found some, she turned and shut the lights off to the cafe. Using the moonlight that gleamed through the window as her light, she carefully made her way to the door and swung it open once she reached it, stepping out onto the gravel of the sidewalk.

She made her way down the street, making a turn around the corner of a convenience store. At the end of this road was a big, brightly lit theater. Several posters were strung around it and several small groups of viscets were flocked around it, talking quietly among themselves about the films they were about to see or had already seen. She walked into the entrance and made her way forward towards the viscet at the front stand. She placed her ticket on the counter and smiled softly as the viscet took it and marked her hand, signalling it was fine for her to go into the movie theater. Her eyes drifted over to the clock, she still had well over 30 minutes before the play would begin. Props had to be set up as well as the seats situated. She turned and walked forward, her gaze still locked on the clock. Right when she turned her head, she collided with another viscet who was standing near a bench alone.
She staggered backwards, her eyes raising up to meet the eyes of the viscet.

He had a grey pelt with several blue accents on it and a black collar with a glistening blue stone at the center of it. She gazed up in surprise, speaking quickly out of embarrassment. "I'm sorry about crashing into you! I was looking at the clock to see how long I had to wait for and I looked for a little too long.." Valeriya gazed down briefly for a moment, then looked up at him when she heard his soft voice. "Hey, you're fine, I think I was just standing out in the open. Are you okay? You did hit me a little hard." He said with a quiet laugh. Valeriya's eyes met his and she nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine, thanks for asking. So, what are you here to see today?"

"Actually, my mother dragged me here, she loves plays but the one she's going to today starts in about 30 minutes, she said it's a Shakespeare play so I'm hanging out here until it's over and we can go home together. What are you here to see?" Valeriya looked away in embarrassment, slightly disappointed he wasn't exactly interested in the same thing as her. She debated for a moment, deciding her next words carefully. "Well, I just closed my cafe and needed a place to hang out for a while. I am actually going to be watching that play before I go home and sleep. But if you're going to be out here alone, do you think you would be okay with me joining you?" She said with an awkward and doubtful smile. Joq looked at her in silence for a moment before nodding. "I mean, you can as long as you're okay with missing the play. Are you sure you want to do that?" Valeriya confidently spoke, her head held high. "Yeah, I'm sure. I'm Valeriya, what's your name?" She put her paw forward for a shake, his paw meeting hers as he spoke. "I'm Joq, it's a pleasure to meet you." Something about him confused Valeriya, yet drew her in more.
