Pepper is a petite and very outgoing Plumerian who sincerely enjoys rambling about random topics as much as she enjoys listening to others in their own ramblings, which is a lot. She's very talkative, and will go out of her way to start a conversation with just about anyone. She's friendly, takes nothing personally and loves to laugh. Her favorite times are when she's surrounded by friends, writing or listening to her favorite music.

Pepper, at her current age of 38, is very happy in general and satisfied in life. She keeps her stress low and she doesn't lash out at others when she's tense. She lives a fairly 'normal' life, but it's all she needs to be content.

History

Pepper, as a child, was significantly smaller than the other Plumerians her age. She was often made fun of for her small size by others, but she didn't let it get to her. She was too concerned with her schooling and managing her home life to care what others thought of her.

Pepper would often find her schedule cramped, even in her younger years, being that she was a member of a large household. She had many chores to complete, and often found herself caring for her younger sibling in the place of her parents, along with managing her school life and homework. She didn't have time for friends or games, or any fun after-school activities for that matter. Though, she didn't really mind, as long as she could be useful to her family and get through school.

Though, a point came towards the end of Elementary school where Pepper began to feel sad about the way things were for once. She was in 5th grade and had never had an actual friend. She'd always brushed off invitations for things such as others' birthday parties or going out because she always had responsibilities at home or for school that she had to attend to. Others saw her as antisocial, and she felt ignored by a lot of the others from her school at that point. They stopped asking if she wanted to hang out. They stopped asking to study together. They even stopped saying hi in the halls.

The other children were tired of being ignored, and in turn they ignored her.... but, it wasn't her fault.

..
In middle school, Pepper took on an even heavier workload both in school and at home. She was consistently stressed out and barely managed to get through her first year, 6th grade with a passing grade. She was criticized by her parents and teachers for her failing grades.... but she honestly was trying her best.

..
In 7th and 8th grade, she went from having a perfectionist attitude regarding her schoolwork to completing things sloppily just for the sake of completing them. She did just as much as she could manage instead of pushing herself to complete everything thrown at her in the highest quality. This, released her stress somewhat, but it seemed that regardless of how she handled things she was always facing criticism from her family and teachers, and she still found herself with no time to herself.

At this point still, she had no friends, was facing bullying and was all around discontented with her life.... she also felt that there was no one to help her, and no way to change things as they were. She just had to push through and look to the future.

..
When high school came around, Pepper was transferred into a new school and program, and the workload actually seemed to be lesser than it was in her middle school years. Her school wasn't as demanding, and her home life was getting easier to manage since her younger sibling was starting to mature and take on their own work.

Pepper finally had time to herself, but she didn't really know what to do with it. She was confused by it in a sense, she was used to always being busy and having a cramped schedule. Now that she had times where she'd be doing nothing, it just didn't seem right to her. She felt as though she HAD to have something to do constantly, so she'd find various things to occupy her time, or she'd take on additional tasks or responsibilities when possible to fill up her time.

She didn't really enjoy time-killers or things that many others would find “fun”, such as reading or watching TV, so she'd constantly try to be “productive” by doing things that she found to be useful in any sense of the word. She'd continue to deny requests by others to hang out or do things with others. Basically, due to her lifestyle and way of thinking, she'd unintentionally become truly antisocial.

..
Pepper's lifestyle and way of thinking was fairly consistent throughout high school. Though, she did get into writing a bit, and found it to fit within her definition of “productive”. So, she'd spend any free time she had practicing writing, studying literature or writing short stories. In a sense, writing is what introduced her to the concept of “fun”.

In 12th grade, at the age of 18, Pepper submitted a story to a local writers' magazine. She received a letter a couple of weeks later regarding her story – the editors of the paper decided to feature her story, and provided some very constructive and positive feedback. This event opened Pepper up to sharing her work with the world, and got her interested in studying literature more seriously.

..
Pepper attended a small, local community college after leaving high school. Her parents, though critical in the past, did care about her education very much and were willing to help her somewhat with the financial aspect. Pepper was able to manage getting through community college with a scholarship, the help of her parents and just a simple part-time jobs for the weekends. She didn't need to take out a loan for her studies, which she was very thankful for.

During her time in college, Pepper mainly focused on improving her understanding of literature. She wanted to be a writer at this point, and so she developed her skills and dedicated much of her time to writing. She got along well with her classmates and teachers in college, and felt more and more open to communicating over the course of her time in college.

Pepper dedicated hours daily to writing, and never seemed to get bored of it. She published one completed novel just before graduation, which went on to do fairly well. When she did graduate, she moved from the dorm she'd been staying in to a small apartment located somewhat near to her original home, and went to work right away with writing, publishing and continuing to develop her skills and style. She mostly wrote compilations of short stories, but she also ventured into various genres such as fantasy, romance and even non-fictional documents.

..
Around the age of 30, Pepper decided to become more involved in the social aspects of the writing community. She would contact fellow writers, hold lectures to teach others about the subject of literature and take on freelance opportunities when possible. She met many other Plumerians who shared her interests, and at this point in her life was ready to dedicate some time to going out or being around others. She developed her social skills significantly over a few years in her 30s, and grew a new perspective on what really mattered to her in her life.

Pepper, for some time, thought that she needed to be constantly productive and useful in order to have a “good life”. Though, as she grew older, she found that what really mattered was that she was happy, and that she made those around her happy as well. She still felt the need to be productive, but this need no longer consumed all of her time and energy.

By the age of 38, her current age, Pepper had truly grown a love for the social world. She became very talkative and outgoing, and loved meeting up with her friends. She also continued to write for hours almost daily, and developed a unique style of writing which intrigued her readers. She's very content, and doesn't pressure herself the same way she had in her earlier years. Rather, she takes things slow, and when she needs support she has plenty of friends from the writing community to speak with.
