Workshop One - Writing Prompt

Prompt: (write out their personality in any amount of words)
Link is a very sweet Kalon, and quite naive at that, having fallen so quickly for the father of his kits (who is now long gone). He's a family man and cares much about his children, dedicating himself to them completely. He is a kindhearted guy and hates conflict, but will fiercely protect those he is devoted to.

Workshop One - Day One Exercise

What is your Kalon’s first, middle, and last name (if they have one)? Link Markus Fitzgerald
Does your Kalon have a human appearance as well? If so, what do they look like? As a human, Link would be a tall, lanky fellow with dull brown hair and a cowlick.
Does you Kalon have any family members? If so, blood related or adopted? Yes, Link has a daughter and a son!
Who is your Kalon the closest too? Why? Link is likely closest to his daughter. He spends the most time with her and is very protective over her.
What sort of occupation does your Kalon have? Do they enjoy it? Link is a professional cosplayer. He enjoys his work very much and always seems to be tinkering with some sort of outfit.
List some of your Kalons likes and dislikes and give an explanation as to why.
Likes:
- Fandoms (he has always been a nerd)
- Children (ever since he had his kits, he has had a weakness for them)
- Love stories (he's always dreamt of his Prince Charming...coming back)
Dislikes:
- Flirting (unless he genuinely likes the person doing it, he hates it when anyone flirts with him)
- Seafood (hey, everyone's got their own tastes, and Link despises fish and the like)
- Roaches (he's always had a phobia of those creepy crawlies)
What is your Kalons biggest weakness and strength?
Weakness:
His biggest weakness is his attachment. Once he starts loving someone, he never stops, and never seems able to let go. This causes losses and broken relationships to be especially heavy in his heart, and that weight he carries for the rest of his days.
Strength:
Link's primary strength lies in his heart. He's an extremely understanding, openminded person, and relates to others easily. This is mainly what made him a suitable father.

Write about a time when your Kalon(s) lost something important or someone close to them: (detail the event and the emotions they felt)
Link lost someone special to him when his...somewhat boyfriend, Damian, left him. He had just discovered he was pregnant with his kits when Damian vanished and cut ties with him because he was overwhelmed at the thought of children. This absolutely broke Link's heart, and he regretted ever having been with Damian. However, once their kits were born, Link felt happy once more, despite Damian having never returned.

Do they keep promises, or break them? Why? Link usually keeps his promises, or at least he tries his best too. He's always been an honest Kalon at heart.
Are they a leader, follower, or loner? Why? He has the potential to be a leader, but he works best as a follower because of his determination to help out and his undying loyalty.
If they could change one thing in their past, what would it be and why? Falling in love with Damian. He doesn't regret having his kits, however--they mean the world to him.
Do they care what others think of them? Why or why not? Link only cares about what others think of him if they mean anything to him. If it's a stranger or a bully, their opinion doesn't matter to him.
Do they tend to argue with others or do they avoid conflict? He'll avoid conflict if possible, but has the capability of fighting if need be.
Are they more spontaneous, or are they the type that always needs a plan? Link is a very organized person and tends to freak out when things don't go according to plan.
Do they have any quirks, mannerisms, habits, or other defining characteristics? Link tends to be very obvious about his emotions through the movements of his ears. For example, if he was feeling especially annoyed, his ears would flatten.

Link was absolutely brimming with positive energy as he rushed for the door. His usual goofy smile spread on his face when he whipped it open, eyes sparkling with affection at the sight of his daughter waiting for him outside.
"Lovett!" he exclaimed, and bounded forward to embrace her.
For you see, Link and Lovett didn't see each other as often as they used to. Ever since Link's children grew into adulthood, they'd been away and it seemed like they were constantly busy. Everett had moved out, and while Lovett still lived with Link, her time in Europe far outweighed her time at home in Amsterdam. He was always thrilled to hear it when they informed him of a potential visit, especially since he lived on his own, now. He refused to admit it to anyone, including himself, but he was quite lonely without them.
Lovett returned the gesture. Her expression hardly changed, but one look at her face and Link could tell that she was pleased to see him as well. A small laugh from her gave it away, too, but Link hadn't needed it to know how she was feeling.
"Hi, Dad," she murmured in response, "how've you been since the last time you wrote to me?"
"Oh, nothing notable. How about you? Was the trip home alright? Wait...before you tell me, come inside! I just so happened to bake some cookies a bit ago."
"I'm sure it was just a coincidence," Lovett chuckled under her breath as they headed inside.
When they arrived in the kitchen, Link pulled out a tray of the still-warm tasty pastry. They were Lovett's favorite--peanut butter. The two of them snacked on the cookies together while discussing their plans through perpetually stuffed mouths. By the time they were done talking, all of the cookies had gone, most of them having been eaten by the younger Kalon.
As Lovett stood, Link perked up.
"Hey, wait a minute! You're gonna have to pay for those cookies, missy."
"And what do I owe you, exactly?"
"Each cookie will add one more day in Amsterdam."

As a child, Maka was always gazing off into space. She was a truly ditzy kit and had trouble concentrating on anything. Needless to say, her grades weren't fantastic. As she grew older, she seemed to get more and more distracted.
She ended up dropping out of her studies, to her parents' dismay, and decided to move on to new places. She became a traveling artist, despite her mother and father's protests. She felt as though it was her true calling.
Currently, she is wandering about the land and creating portraits of those she wishes to. She rarely asks for payment, only desires the memories that come with the process of painting and the friends she can make.

Where do they live and what is the geography like? Maka mainly travels around Scotland, but she has no set home.
What is the society like there, is there a hierarchy? It is a fairly peaceful area of Great Britain, although there is a hierarchy.
What kind of technology does the world possess: modern, medieval, fantasy, etc.? The technology is a mix of medieval and fantasy. Electricity is not yet being used.
Do many or only a few people live here? Many people live there, but in clusters.
Is the history the same as our world, or is it different? If different, how? The history is the same as our world.
Is your Kalon(s) considered lower, middle, or upper class? Maka is considered lower class because she hardly has any money.
What sort of language(s) is commonly spoken here? Mainly English is spoken there.
