how do your kalons spend the holidays?
written with ruth

a small wood cabin sits by the ocean. waves roll into the icy shore while snow falls against a fragile window. & inside the cabin is ruth sake, an outwardly friendly plant shop owner who keeps her shop open even on winter holidays, caring for & hanging ornaments on the plants that are soon to be sold to a new, loving home. a paw runs through hair short but soft hair, hesitantly wondering whether she'd put too many or too less ornaments on a plant. a knock at the door seems to cut off the pointless thought.

"thanks, man." ruth smiles & shuts the door, putting down her order of takeout food on the counter. takeout consisting of the strangest foods ruth could find, as being someone who enjoys a taste of change & weirdness. despite the late night, cold weather & unlikelyness of customers, not to mention it's christmas' eve, the open sign rests still against the glass watching outside.

it would be a lie to say no one came to visit, because both ruth's friends & regulars made a drop in. ruth does her best to entertain, offering the takeout but, no wonder, it is usually turned down. but mainly she just enjoys the company. perhaps it was the welcoming lights that made people stop by or maybe it was how everyone in the beachside town knows ruth's traditions.
