You're wandering school grounds late at night when everything is nearly pitch black. Although it's Friday and you won't have to go back to school for 3 days you still decided to come and get a jacket you left, but the problem is you can't find an unlocked door or even an unlocked window to get inside. Knowing that it'll snow this weekend, you sigh as a breeze goes right through the old jacket you're currently wearing. Shivering, you start to head back home when a light catches the corner of your eye. You turn towards the light, then soon realize that you made it to the back of the school where the gymnasiums are. You approach, hoping a janitor was inside the gym so they could let you into the school, but you only hear the sounds of a ball being hit and sneakers squeaking against the gym floor. You cautiously open the unlocked door, feeling the heat crawl outside to welcome you as you peer inside to see if anyone here could help you. You're greeted by a large Kalon spiking a volleyball and you watch as he slams the ball onto the other side of the court with force. He spots you within a few seconds of the spike and looks at you with a concerned expression. "Can I.... help you?" He says after a few seconds of silence in a deep, confused voice. You step back and shake your head quickly, realizing that you're disturbing his practicing. You let out a quick "No, I'm sorry for interrupting!" and start to turn away and close the door. You were a bit intimidated by his dark eyes and cold, hard stare but right before the door closes you decided to get one last look at the tall volleyball player watching you leave.

Ukai doesn’t speak often but when he does, he bluntly says what's on his mind and usually comes off as tactless. He will apologize if he realizes that he has insulted someone, but he won't change his viewpoint. He never means harm but feels that the truth should only be said, and if you are to speak it should be truthful. Ukai is one to constantly have people in conversation around him, but he won't take part in the conversation. Although he doesn't speak often he's usually closely listening to everything happening around him. Ukai is fairly confident in his volleyball abilities and generally doesn't meet people who will beat him, although he knows he's the best on the team he still doesn't consider himself even close to good and is always looking to improve. If you catch him on a good day, he's willing to take a small part in the conversation and sometimes make sarcastic remarks, but he usually only does this towards people he generally likes and is friends with. Whenever someone throws an insult at him he's always willing to pipe up and toss out a little "Thank you!" and a smile to them and he gladly watches them get mad at the fact that he wasn't affected by the insult.

On the court, Ukai goes through some slight changes personality wise. He focused more on motion and visual aspects but still is constantly listening for anything important. His focus on the court becomes very intense and he won't let himself rest for a single second. While he still maintains his silence and on-court intensity, it multiplies by at least 100 during a match. The only time he talks is if one of his teammates lose their mood or if he fears that they'll lose. Once his team loses energy and motivation the mood completely changes, but he's often able to switch that around, and they often lose points once this happens, in which he'll start directing plays to help the out a bit. Ukai's silence and glares throughout the game become extremely intimidating, especially since his fur is dark colored and his opponents generally don't notice when he comes close to them. Ukai tries to give it his all right from the start of a game and keep his stamina and motivation the same until the end of the match. Although Ukai does everything he possibly can to stay on the court, sometimes he'll be taken off due to the coach not wanting him to exhaust himself. In his time off he thinks about every little mistake he's made and often will beat himself up about it and make himself train double to make sure it won't happen again. He can be quite brutal on himself when it comes to volleyball and is willing to stay on the court until his lungs give out or he can no longer move.

Ukai was born into a strict family and the only time he was allowed to be free was when his father was home. His father was in the military, so this wasn't often, and his mother feared that if Ukai wasn't taught under strict rule he wouldn't grow up to be a proper person with manners. This caused him to nearly never speak due to his fear of saying something wrong by accident and getting scolded, and his silence naturally grew with him. When his father died his mother was completely distraught, and that's when she started making him go out more. She couldn't have him see her in constant pain and sadness, as she didn't want him to be upset as well. At first, he wasn't concerned with volleyball at all and he tried things like swim, soccer, and even basketball. Being as quiet as he is, he wasn't really able to make friends. Through many sports, Ukai found that he enjoyed volleyball the most, and he felt it helped him communicate with people better. He felt that if he was upset with someone he could harshly beat them at a volleyball match and that his playing could reflect how he felt and what he wanted to say better than all the other sports. Although his many many teammates over the years couldn't see this and feared him, he was still most comfortable with volleyball and continued to play in order to distract himself to whatever his thoughts could bring him to throughout all the silence he lived within.

Ukai takes a major interest in volleyball and will spend any and every passing second playing it and practicing. His fur makes him large and often threatens other teams, but with his great size comes great force. Not only does he look intimidating, but he sends hard serves and is able to spike with great power. Since he was a child he's enjoyed volleyball and would often carry around a volleyball so he could practice setting any second he got. As a child, he joined many volleyball teams or played with many groups of kids, but nearly every time they would call him a 'freak' or a 'monster' due to his looks and how much bigger he was compared to them. This would result in him often scaring them with how skilled he was for his age, and it would scare others into running every time he was in sight. His partner he passed to half the time was a cold, hard brick wall. At first he was satisfied with his skills and how he was so skilled it was literally scary, but eventually, loneliness got to him and he desperately searched for a team that would accept him and that would be able to play along with his skill set and skill level.

Ukai is definitely a thief and a scavenger, but as you might have assumed, only when it comes to volleyball. He scavenges whatever and wherever he can for information on other teams plays so he can learn from them, and he often takes his favorite parts of the game play for himself and his team. He also does this to devise ways to be able to stop another team if they go with this method of playing and although he feels bad whenever he does this, he knows it's for the well-being of his team. Ukai will spend hours on the internet scraping every corner to find every video he possibly can of a team he's going against and he'll spend countless amounts of time watching every player closely and learning each one's strategies. Some call him crazy for this, some call him stupid, and some call him creepy, but Ukai and his team know that this is important when going against another team if they want their team to stay strong. Other than volleyball-related things, Ukai would rather not steal anything.
