Image FEELINGS TOWARDS HER ROLE
Goddess of the sky, clouds and air, patron of all equids and hooven furs. She has many more titles given to her by the monks and various followers, but these are her main ones. She thinks it's rather cute, how mortals put her on a pedestal to worship her and give her sacrifices.

Aello was practically made to protect and guard the sky Cerridwen and her deputy had created, so even if she hypothetically disliked being the goddess of the sky, Aello would still have to return eventually due to how the sky pulls her to it. Fortunately, she tolerates, maybe even likes her duty.

At first, she treated it like playtime. Being able to travel quickly and control most weather was fun at first, but it lost its novelty very quickly. She had to face that there was nothing sentient in the sky, aside from the occasional rash winged fur that would try to fly past the height limits. She had to deal with going down as far as possible on a cloud to watch the activities and rituals going on in her own temples and sometimes, in the temples of the other deities. Sometimes, she felt very... alone. Sure, she was revered and all for being an all-mighty sky goddess, but being held up on a pedestal gets tiring very quickly. Although Aello was used to being treated like royalty, she couldn't help but feel curious about how mortals lived their lives. Her and their lives seemed distinctly different. That was what prompted her to disguise herself as a mortal, sneak away from the Land of the Holy and have fun.

The novelty of not being treated like a goddess for once kept drawing her back to the world. Sometimes, she would even neglect her duties, not knowing any better. However, after a very unfortunate accident, Aello actually takes her duty seriously and started treating it like a well, job. Nowadays, she can usually be found watching over the land through the sky, sending rain and snow through clouds to all the kingdoms. She occupies herself with controlling the weather and guarding the sky as well as whatever passes through it most of the time. Of course, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. The accident doesn't stop the goddess from drifting down to land, whether as air or a mortal.

Image WHEN SHE'S FREE
Being the goddess of the sky is hard work, okay? However, Aello has taken a liking to this mortal thing called "art", specifically painting. Once, she thought of it as a way for mortals to show their appreciation for the deities. Recently, she tried it once and is currently now taking everything seriously, calling it a great way to express creativity. Aello is very fussy about the brand of paints and brushes she uses, and guards her art supplies with her life. She meticulously takes care of her brushes and gets upset if someone else borrows her materials. Aello has even tried her hand (hoof?) at crafts and sculpting, and proudly displays her masterpieces around the Land of the Holy.

If she's not doing art, she's watching mortals go about their daily lives. When that just doesn't cut it, then she'll join them. Aello can not only turn completely into a cloud or air, she can also turn part of her body into either of these things. By turning her wings into air, she poses as an ordinary horse (and quarter lion because of her tail) and goes sightseeing in the capital of Furtopia to experience modern life. She's very fascinated with how mortals get along with their life, and has learnt a thing or two about how society has progressed while the deities were just doing whatever.

She is especially exhilarated to experience life as a mortal, as she hasn't done any of that since she was a young god. The last time she often visited and posed as a mortal was when she fell in love with a mortal. However, he died a tragic death, being murdered by his own siblings. But that's a story for another time. What matters is that Aello became depressed and shut herself up, and it was only recently that she got over it and decided to visit the mortal world.

Image RELATIONSHIPS

cerridwen, mother of all

Initially, Aello respected and had a good opinion of Cerridwen. In her eyes, she was the idealistic mother figure every Furtopian thought she was, albeit very distant. As centuries passed, Aello saw less of the idealistic mother figure and more of a sassy and sometimes abrasive all-powerful deity. Cerridwen doesn't exactly rub Aello the right way and their relationship is still very distant (Aello usually just does her own thing), but the pegasus tolerates and even respects the elder deity whenever their paths cross. Cerridwen created the world as well as her, and Aello would not be able to find it in her to rebel against the deity. Definitely not the best mother figure now due to constant, trivial squabbles, but it'll do.

king beaumont, avian ruler

Aello appreciates the light-hearted and energetic nature of Beaumont. Sometimes, Aello will (literally) drop by to visit him when he's not back home, though she makes sure she lands somewhere near or even inside the castle due to the association of hooven furs with Felidopia. However, Aello is introverted and prefers being left alone, thus making the extroverted King Beaumont seem too loud and overbearing in her eyes. His ways usually tire her out, but Aello appreciates the contrast between her usual quiet life and the bustling life in Aviaria.

cerise and onyx, protectors of organia

Aello stays up in the sky, they've been staying in a cave for who knows how long. It's only natural that they haven't met until recently. She has only been told of the tales about how they've helped to shape the world, but due to that fact the pegasus respects them already. Due to only having heard descriptions about their appearance, Aello even grew curious of how they looked like. Once, she tried to float over to their mountain as a cloud, but was unable to find their hideaway. She really wants to talk to them and have a cup of tea.

HISTORY

Aello isn't a direct daughter from Cerridwen unlike Cerise and Onyx. She was taken and formed by Cerridwen from the clouds after the world had been created. Once she had been given life, she was pretty much fully-developed.

During the first few centuries, the pegasus mainly floated around. Being the goddess of the sky, she felt obligated to watch over the sky. However, very few mortals went higher than the clouds, so she was reduced to watching the mortals as they slowly developed their technology and lifestyle over time. She usually spent her time near Aviaria, fascinated by how the creatures flew like her. She was even more fascinated when they started to build strange stone structures, apparently dedicated to the various deities. Entertained by the strange activities these Furtopians would participate in, Aello began to become more curious about the mortal world. She began to secretly watch over them closely as air. It wasn't like Mother was looking, was she?

One day, while watching over what would be Felidopia, she saw a hooven fur. She was part of a gathering party to collect food. Thinking that she was rather pretty, Aello decided to toy with her and amuse herself for a bit. After a day of trying to disguise herself, she then went down as a mortal and began her masquerade. Claiming that she was the heiress of a rich family, she began meeting the hooven fur during her usual strolls in the nearby forest.

SYMBOLS
birch tree -

white lily -

SUPERSTITIONS
sudden, gentle breeze -
If the air was still before and there is a sudden breeze, many think that it's a sign that Aello is present and watching over them.

weather and clouds in general -
It's an uncommon belief that the clouds show how Aello is feeling on that day. Clear skies indicate that she is in a good mood, and rain indicates sorrow or anger. Some Furtopians arrange events depending on weather forecasts.
