It was dark. Well, what did he expect really. In his mind, he wondered vaguely if he was going to go
there—it’d be fitting. It wasn’t like he was going to end up someplace nice, with what he’s done.
It sort of felt like he was floating.
Until it didn’t.
He felt a cool sensation on where his back would be… grass tickling at his face. A breeze. His eyes shot open instantly, wide with shock. He laid there frozen, not knowing
what. He sat up slowly, feeling his
body? work. He slouched over, staring at the hypnotically swaying grass,
frozen frozen frozen. He could feel an empty ache in his heart, a longing.
For what? he thought incredulously. He clutched his chest, not knowing what
what whatwhat, why? He felt the illusion of his heart beating fast in his ears, ringing. And he sat there.
A snake slithered in front of him. His eyes locked onto it instantly, longing growing and growing and growing…?grow-w… it was a beautiful creature. He stared at it as it glided along. It’s pale white scales seeming to glow. It was
beautiful. His heart sped up.
It woul̟d̖n̠’͜t̮ ̢e̘s̪c̴̸̗͚̹a̴̷̧̘̥p̸̶̥̻͖e̶̷͎̣̫.
It was so painful. Yet it felt so right.
His body grew scales and his eyes to slits. Shifting parts and gears in an imaginary flesh bag. He heaved deeply. They were now together, never apart. His heart swelled and a smile broke out on his face, feeling out of place and strange. Like a tear in a blank canvas.
The newly scaled tail flailed wildly behind him, new life breathed into it. It wriggled wildly, as if knowing that it
shouldn’t be there. Taken from its master and blended into a new being. Maybe he could feel the snake protesting and wriggling inside his stomach. Or maybe that was an illusion. He didn’t know. He didn’t know much at all. This new sense and feeling made everything seem so exhilarating.
The eyes were a funny sensation.
It sort of felt like and itch at first. Terribly itchy. And then suddenly there were new sights and reach added to his vision. Those eyes could look there, and these eyes could look here. He gave a breathless giggle.
Too bad he couldn’t literally have eyes on the back of his head. The hair would probably block its vision.
Everything felt so
nice.
He heard footsteps, crunching through the leaves. He was curious. Peeking through the trees, he spotted someone. They resembled him—in the way they had the same number of limbs. Same number of eyes. Or at least used to. His eight eyes blinked at them curiously, snake tail whipping side to side soundlessly.
They were beautiful. So he took them.
He
lovingly stared into their eyes. The others were wide with… fear? Ah. Of course not. That would be impossible.
There was no threat from him. He loved them so much.He must be mistaken.
They whispered quietly—strained. “What happened to them…?”
The tears created kaleidoscopes in their eyes. It was beautiful. They were so beautiful.
He felt something ugly curl in his chest. But why would they want to know? They didn’t need those others. They only needed him.
Did they plan to cheat on him? Why would they want others. Jealousy. Jealousy Jealously JealouslyJealously
jealously. He breathed out deeply through his nose, his newly red hair fanning around him.
Dyed red with the— His tails encompassed them both. Tightening and closing in further.
Their shining
beautiful eyes widened even further. They repeated a mantra of no’s, slowly increasing with volume and desperation.
