King Atlas, Keeper of the Night Sky
"Goddess Cerridwen, if you hear me, know all the stars in my sky shine for Furtopia"

King Atlas is like a fairytale ruler come to life. He lives to serve his kingdom and the Godess, being fair and humble. He is very noble and kind, taking it upon himself to right the wrongs people have done during his reign. He has the power to control the night sky, adding and taking away stars as he pleases. If you were to look at the way he acts around the Goddess, you would think he fancies her. However, this is nowhere near the case. In fact, Atlas sees her more like a big sister.

"Sir, you may be seeing me as worthy of this title, but even a king has his secrets"

Atlas is much different than he was when he was younger. Growing up as a demi-god prince, he was spoiled and ultimately knew he could get away with anything. He would lie, steal, destroy things, just to blame it on innocent Furtopians. The pride went to his head, and he was like this for years before he finally realized how his subjects cowered in fear at the sight of them. This was not the way a ruler should rule, and no way for citizens to live. So he changed his ways, trying to change the views of Furtopia toward him. Eventually, he was forgiven, but the guilt of his past ways still stays with him.

"See those stars up there? There's one for every citizen who's ever been under my command."
If you look at the night sky, what you might see is a whole bunch of randomly placed lights. However, there is a method to the madness. Every single star represents a fallen Furtopian. King Atlas makes it his job to craft a unique star for every citizen of his kingdom. When they die, he places that star in a special spot in the sky- his way of thanking his subjects for being loyal to him. This may seem odd, but Atlas feels a great bond to Furtopia, and doing anything less than what he's capable of to give back to it, is not an option.

Out Among The Stars
"Oh how many travelers get weary, bearing both their burdens and their scars"

-----I sat on a soft, grassy slope overlooking my kingdom silhouetted against the fiery sunset. I sent a bright shooting star accross the sky, signaling the start of night. I brought out the moon- my symbol of Cerridwen. Although she wasn't deceased like the rest of my stars, I felt the need to represent her in my magnificent night sky more than anything. As I watched the last sliver of pastel orange fade from the sky, my mind drifted off to my past... I sat back and let my mind take control, wondering where it would take me.

"Don't you think they'd love to start all over, and fly like eagles out among the stars"

"I can't do that, peasant." I told the small ferret baker. "Please, your Highness! Just one more week, I promise I can pay the taxes!" I threw my head back and laughed. "Fool!" I spat. "Don't you know better than to argue with a demi-god?" I told him with a cold glare. "You know, I will give you another week. But I will need double taxes" I added with a chuckle. I adjusted the crown on my head and whipped around, leaving the poor baker on his knees. The other furtopians on the street hugged their children first and stared at their king in horror. I simply glared at them as I walked off with my arrogant head held high, snapping my fingers for my guards to follow.

A week later, I had that baker thrown in jail for two years. I had his bakery burned to the ground- made him watch. That little shop was all he had, and I destroyed it. For weeks after that I would hear his crying in the dungeons- Sobbing about how much he had to give up to open that bakery. How hard he worked to get his family out of debt. A family. He had a family, two daughters and a wife. I destroyed that too. And he wasn't the first. My dungeon was full of innocent people, but I was so full of pride I couldn't see what I was doing to my kingdom. I didn't want to be Mr. Nice Guy. But that would all change soon.

One day, after another day of collecting taxes, I decided to take a nice, long stroll through the meadows surrounding my castle while counting the money.
