The story of the green ping pong balls (no spoiling!)

Once upon a time, there was a rich man, a billionaire (not Donald Trump), who had one son. He loved his son very much, and wanted him to have the best of life at all times. At the same time, he wanted to teach him to be a good man, and to follow in his footsteps.
Before his son's third birthday, he wanted to surprise him with a present, but wasn't sure wha to get him. So, knowing how young and niave his son was, he decided to ask him,"son, your about to turn 3, I know your excited! What do you want on your wishlist: do you want that knew scooter, candy, that big toy at the store, what do you want?"
His son looked at him, smiled, and said,"dad, all I want, is 1, Green, ping pong ball."
His dad was surprised, but smiled. He bought his son a Green ping pong ball, and when his son unwrapped it, it was his favorite present. His son took it into his room, and the next day, it was gone, only the packaging was there.
Before his son's 8th birthday: His father went up to him, unsure of what to buy him for his birthday. His son had excelled in school, was already playing sports. He was very proud,"son I know you are turning 8 soon, and getting bigger! What do you want for your birthday: A new football, a bicycle, those new shoes you were looking at? What would you like?"
His son looked at him, and said,"Dad, all I want, is 10, Green, ping pong balls."
His dad tilted his head, he thought he had gone through this before but shrugged it off. When his son unwrapped it, he had a huge
smile, took it into his room, and they were never seen again.
It is now the day before his son's 13th birthday, the boy is getting A's in all his classes, he is the best student at school, as well as being the quarterback of the football team. His dad is super proud of him, and wanted to make his first day as a teenager special. He went up to his son, and said,"Son, I am so proud of you! You are a motivated student, and a fantastic athlete! I wanted to give you an offer: for your birthday, I will take you on a cruise! Also, I will get you whatever you want: that Xbox one, a skateboard, anything! What would you like?"
His son looked at him, and said,"dad, all i want, is 100, Green, ping pong balls."
His dad was shocked,"Son, are you sure that is what you want?"
His son nodded. The next day, when he unwrapped the ping pong balls, he took them into his room, never to be seen again.

Part 2:

The day before his son's 16 birthday: The rich man was excited for his son's 16th birthday; his son was going to graduate a year early with honors, he was going to become a doctor, and set up his own practice, as well as taking over the business when his dad died. His son was also one of the best high school qb's in the nation, and he was expected to receive scholarship offers for both sports or medicine. His dad pulled his son aside before his birthday, and said,"son, I have to say, I am very impressed with the work you have done. You are a motivated student and athlete, you are well on the way to any path you choose to take, and I am very proud of you. What would you like to celebrate your 16th birthday: A luxury car to drive, a trip someplace, more of those gaming systems you love so much, what would you like?"
His son smiled, looked his dad straight in the eye, and said,"dad, all I want, is 1000, Green, ping pong balls."
At this point, his dad was a little angry, but understood they must be important to him, whatever it is he did with them. He asked his son again,"are you sure that is what you want?"
His son nodded. His son got them, took them into his room, and they were never seen again.
The day of his son's graduation: His son was excited: he was getting offers from colleges all across the country, to play sports or study, all for free. He was even getting some from foreign universities. Basically, he could go study anywhere he wanted. He dad was very proud, and went to talk to him right before the ceremony,"son, congratulations, your hard work is really paying off rich now. You are perhaps the greatest student in the world. After the celebration tonight, would you like to fly out to any of these schools, go on a vacation, what would you like?"
His son said,"Dad, all i want, is 10,000, green, ping pong balls."
His dad was surprised to say the least. He shook his head, "you really sure you want them?" he asked.
His son nodded.

Part 3:

It is now 3 years into his son's college education. He decided he would both play on the football team, and study to become a doctor. No surprise, he was great at both. In his junior year of college, his son got married to a beautiful, smart girl. His dad was proud, and excited about the possibility of grandkids. during the wedding reception, his dad, who was sitting next to him, said,"Son, congratulations. I had always invasions you taking over the business, which I still hope you will be willing to do. But you have went to even greater heights! Aside from my wedding gift to you, I want to get you something else: do you want me to pay for your first home? Do you want a nice car? What would you like?"
His son, beaming with pride, suddenly grew serious. His son looked at him and said,"Dad, all I want, is 100,000, Green, ping pong balls."
His dad smiled, thinking his son was joking, but slowly, his jaw descended. His son was DEAD SERIOUS. He asked him,"son, you keep asking for ping pong balls, why? You aren't even good at ping pong. It is one of the only things I destroyed you at. Why do you want them?"
His son said,"Dad, I don't think your ready yet."
So, his dad bought him the ping pong balls, and decided to invest in ping pong ball manufacturing, since his son was so addicted.
He dropped the ping pong balls off at his son's place, who took them inside, and they were never seen again.
It is now 5 years later: His son has graduated, and decided not to play pro football, and instead, decided to set up his own practice. His dad also got happy news: he was going to be a grandfather! When the big day arrived, he flew to the city his son lived in, and met him and the baby. He was very proud.
When he went out to dinner with his son and family, he told him,"son, it goes without saying, but I am very proud of you! Do you need any money to cover expenses? Do you need a bigger house, for that matter?"
His son looked at him, and said,"Dad, all I want, is 1,000,000, Green, ping pong balls."
His dad's joy turned to anger,"son, what do you need them so badly for?"
His son said,"Dad, I dont think you are ready yet."
His dad got him the ping pong balls, and flew back, angry.
4 years later: His son is a successful doctor, who managed to set up his own practice. He had a nice house, a pretty wife, and 2 kids, a boy and a girl. But, they got troubling news: his son had developed a rare blood disorder, which didn't have a cure, that would kill him within five years. When his dad heard, he flew to his son's house to talk with him.
He walked in the door, which was opened by his daughter in law, and was shocked. His son was USING A CANE. A year ago, he was still one of the world's best athletes. He sat down with his son, and cut to the chase,"Son, I am so sorry. I heard about your ailment. I wanted to tell you that I love you, and will put together a team of the world's greatest doctor's and scientists to find a cure. Is there anything I can do for you?"
His son smiled, and said,"Dad, all I want, is 10,000,000, Green, ping pong balls."
His father slammed his fist into the table,"Son, what do you want them for?"
His son said,"Dad, I don't think you are ready yet."
When his son got to the warehouse full of ping pong balls, he smiled and spent all night in there. The next day, every single ping pong ball was gone. His dad was shocked.
6 months later: his dad got a phone call: his son's sickness had progressed, and he was in the hospital, but there was good news: his scientists had developed a cure! He was so excited, and filled with worry, he flew across the country that day to where his son lived, even though the cure was still on it's way to the hospital. When he landed, he drove straight to the hospital, opened the door to his son's room, and froze: he was hooked up to all sorts of machines, with wires everywhere. He looked shriveled, and had lost a lot of weight. His dad rushed over to his son's side, near tears, and said,"Son, I am so sorry I haven't visited, and your condition has gotten worse. But I have good news: we have a cure! Please, let me give it to you. I know the past couple of years have been hard, but think of your family, we can make a new life together, do all the things we enjoyed doing!"
His son looked at him, and said weakly,"dad... All i want, is 1,000,000,000, Green, ping pong balls."
Defeated, his dad collapsed in a chair. He said In a quiet voice,"son, can I still give you the cure when it gets here? And please, tell me what you need those blasted balls for?"
His son said,"Dad, I think you are ready. I'll tell you tomorrow when you get the cure here."
