Alani can most often be found sitting in her garden, staring at the flowers. Most would call her strange for this, but she explains to those who ask what she is doing. Whenever she is asked a question, she takes a long time to think before answering. Often she feels a bit uncomfortable or stressed around impatient people because of this. She gets along best with Kalons who are patient and easy-going; though she tries to be friendly toward everyone. Often she doesn't share her secrets with her friends, making it hard for her to have a tight knit relationship with anybody. She would only tell someone she really trusted what she is thinking. Most of the time when others do ask, she lies.

Alani has a very complicated past.
She was born to a Kalon that no one knows of to this day. Unable to take care of her, the mother left her in a hollow tree trunk near an active stream.
Two days later, two robins found and raised her off of worms and insects. This is where she got her gentle nature.
The robins were very protective, and never let her leave the nest. She was raised to think that everything could hurt her.
One day, Alani was in the den, waiting for her foster parents, when she spotted a larger bird near the nest. It neared her and tried to attack. The robins tried to fight it off, and after it left Alani never saw them again.
Affected by her morals, her first experience alone in the world was terrifying. Alani was skittish, untrusting, and emotional. As she grew older, her past lurked up from behind her. She grew guiltier and guiltier over the fact that she had been too afraid of the outside world to help her loving foster parents, and therefore vowed to never grow too close to anyone again. Hence why she enjoys most of her time alone, thinking. She thinks about her past.

Piebald
Most often, Alani is the one comforting Piebald in her times of need. She is one of the best people for calming her down in stressful situations. Alani also babysat Piebald's kits when they were young; most often Genevieve and Kurt. Although the two are close, Alani feels Piebald simply wouldn't be able to help her forget about the past.
Genevieve
Alani is often frustrated by Genevieve's bossiness and impatience, but she doesn't show it. She always feels rushed around her, and finds herself telling Genevieve to slow down a lot. Genevieve has taught Alani a thing or two, though. She has taught her to be a little less serious; an important step in Alani's journey to forget her past.
Kurt
Kurt is one of Alani's favorite Kalons to go to when she just wants to spend time with someone on her level. Whether it be in Alani's garden or her book shop, she is always there beside her. Alani has been thinking for a while about telling Kurt all about her past, but she doesn't know how the younger Kalon will react. For now, Kurt stays Alani's closest friend.
