Yo wassup? I'm Blu Bird.

I'm fairly pessimistic, but I'll always accomplish what I want to- and get what I want to get.
I'll always know how to get to where I want to be, as soon as I know what I want, if that makes any sense. First off, this is not a diary. Diaries are for people who are... Well, not me. This is merely a very intricately worded series of song lyrics. I'm headed off to Middle School- the middle of Middle School, at that- with a couple friends and a sketchbook. Wish me luck, lyrics.

This is Minty, my best school friend:

She's pretty cool, I guess, but she's just as much as an outcast as me. What's more, we both just so happen to be awesome artists. However, she wears her hair long and that is dumb. I like short hair, and it's very useful when working with paint. Plus, with really short hair like mine, you don't even really have to brush it much. She has a strong opinion, and will let you HEAR IT.

This is Tim, my other best school friend:

Tim is an artist too. Hey, we all are. Maybe that's why we're all friends. Tim is sick a lot though, and he has to go the hospital sometimes for... Some reason. He's fighting a sickness, but he doesn't like to talk about it. That's okay though, 'cuz I know he'll be fine. Tim's strong like a bull. When he's not in the hospital, Minty and I go over to his house to hang out with him.

Perhaps I'll introduce my Guardians soon. Our school's weird- we have to live there. We're also assigned Guardians according to some long list of something-or-other. We don't remember our 'real' families, because our Guardians and friends are really the only ones who take care of us. We all take care of Tim. He's like a brother.

Today, I got up early. Really early. Why? Because my Guardian says that if I get up early enough, they'll take me to Squarebucks. I always get a Frappuchino, 'cuz coffee is gross. While I was there, sitting and drinking my Frap, when I spied- uh, overheard- some girl talking about Tim, and how he's in the hospital again. I knew this, of course, but they shouldn't have. Tim, Minty, and I had all agreed to not talk about it. Anyways, I did know them, because they were in my Art class, but we weren't friends or anything. They were just... There, you know? I didn't like them too much, they made fun of other people's art a lot (which is NOT cool. At all!) and were really snobbish. Either way, they shouldn't have known. So I said something. I'm in magenta, because it's a cool version of pink, and they are in barf green and orange because I hate those colors.

Me: Hey, how'd you hear all this?

Karen: Oh, y'know, stuff and things, people and places. *snork* Hee hee!

Kaylee: We read some nerd girl's lame diary. 'Kay, nerd? Now go on doing your nerd things. And don't tell your nerd friends either, 'cuz you're lame nerds and lame nerds can be seen talking to non-nerds.

Me: Suuuuure. Okay. Fine. I will definitely not tell Minty that you read her DIARY.

I just got up and left at that point. Karen was soooo annoying! She was always making this annoying snork-y sound and laughing. It's gross. I mean, Karen wasn't nearly as annoying as Kaylee, but she went along with EVERYTHING. She thinks she's cute and all, but she's not. She's just annoying. But Kaylee is the worst of all. I swear she says 'nerd' at least fifty-five thousand times a day! She has a huge-ginormous crush on James though, so she knows not to mess with me. What am I gonna tell Minty?! She's gonna be so sad! And Tim will be upset too! I just don't know, lyrics.

Karen could have been a good person! But she had to hang out with the living version of GARBAGE! I mean really, reading people's diaries?! Who does that?!

Ugh! Stupid Kaylee! Her lame interruption of my thoughts made me forget to write about our Guardians >:( ! I hate Kaylee and Karen so much!!! Anyways, my Guardian is Nina. She's cool, and lets me get away with stuff a lot.

Nina is a lot like an older sister, but not mean. She doesn't talk a lot- to me and the other students, anyway- and does a lot of cooking and baking and stuff. She makes great pie. Like all Guardians, she watches another student too. I can't remember their name though... Mint's Guardian is pretty nice too, though she's not around much because she has to watch over 2 other students! Can you even believe that?! Three people! One Guardian! I just hope all her other students are half as nice as little ol' Mint... Anyways, her name's Serene. I saw her in the hall today and asked about the whole two-jerks-read-Minty's-diary thing, and she was worried too.


Me: Hey, Serene, have you heard about Kaylee and Karen reading Minty's diary?

Serene: Um, yes, about that. I noticed her diary is still gone. I worry about what they'll do with it. Are they your friends or something?

Me: Oh, no! Not by a long shot! I hate them both. But they don't mess with me. I think I can get it back before anything goes bad.

Serene: Okay, good. I have to go now, um, there's an... Um, uh, emergency... Meeting... Oh gosh!

Then she just ran off! Just like that! I have a suspicion of why though... And it's name is KAREN AND KAYLEE!!! I still don't know where Minty is, too! I BET THEY'RE HOLDING HER HOSTAGE! THAT'S WHAT!!!!111!1! RAAAAAAAAAAAGE! I'll save you, Minty! And so anyway, yeah. I'm going to save Minty! But first, I think I hear someone talking to Serene... Gotta spy OVERHEAR them real quick!~

Serene: I'm worried. Poor Minty's gotten into a bit of trouble, I think.

???: Oh, really? What happened? Does it have anything to do with this emergency meeting?

Serene: Uh, no, I don't think so, I, uh, hope not! That would be awful! She got her diary stolen, by uh, Karen and Keelee? Or, uh... Kaylee... I dunno. I can't remember.
I couldn't see her, obviously, but I heard the sad! I HEARD IT, LYRICS! I DID!

???: Mm. Sounds like trouble. Let's get going!

Then they were gone. I heard them run down the hall, and a couple more Guardians ran down the hall too. Then, there was an announcement over the intercom.

Intercom: ATTENTION STUDENTS! PLEASE REMAIN CALM- THE SITUATION IS BEING DEALT WITH. PLEASE REMAIN IN YOUR ROOMS, AND CLOSE YOUR DOORS. THANK YOU.

'The situation'? What situation? COME ON, INTERCOM LADY! YOU'VE GOTTA GIVE US MORE INFO THAN THAT! Minty came to my room, 'cuz we're friends and she doesn't like being alone, and she was really upset. I don't think I've ever seen her this upset before. She obviously knew what had happened.

Mint: This is horrible! Tim is NOT okay! I am NOT okay! None of this is okay!!!

Me: Hold on, hold on! What happened? I mean, other than your diary being read-

Mint: SOMEONE READ MY DIARY?! WHO?! BLU OH MY GOSH!
Shoot, she didn't know!

Me: Mint, calm! Stay calm! Just tell me what happened.

Mint: *Sob* Tim is... He's...*Sob* He's gonna be in the hospital for *Sob* I don't know how long! And now, someone's read my diary, and *whimper* AND EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE!

Mint and I waited for Nina to come back, 'cuz we knew she would tell us what happened. We heard a knock at the door, and when I looked out... It wasn't Nina.

Who is at the door? Who are Serene and Nina's other students? I DON'T KNOW! I need some characters, you guys!

Personality: Penelope is a bit silly. She LOVES pokemon, candy, Doctor Who, and crime shows. She also likes...overhearing...people, so she's a spy XD. She's a good friend, loves hugging people, and likes annoying/spying on more popular people. Also, she'd never have a crush (she finds romance gross XD). Oh, and she likes Ws and Ys, so, she'd add those to words. Like, sorry-sowwy, gross-gwoss, Blu-Bluy XD.
'Nerd' Type: (Music freak, computer nerd, art fart, math geek, makeup crazy, etc)- Music freak/art fart (OMG HAHAHAHHA). She loves drawing, painting, and writing (normally about pokemon...), but she has an amazing voice and can rap/sing pop music.
Brief History: Her dad forced her into this school because she uncovered something bad about her old school. She's pretty new here, and loves making friends XD. AND SHE HAAAAAAATES Kaylee, but is trying to help Karen get out of Kaylee's evil grasp.

I sat there, staring at the peephole for a while. The person on the other side looked pretty eager to come in. They wore a frilly green dress, and had long hair like Mint's- but black. It was one of Mint's friends.

Me: Hey, Mint, it's Penny.

Mint: BLU FOR PETE'S SAKE! LET HER IN!

Me: Okay okay! I'm opening the door. Cool it!

So I let Penny in, and she immediately bolted for Minty. I talk to Penny a lot, since she hangs out with Minty almost as much as I do, and we both hated Kaylee. Penny was super into Pokemon and pop music, both of which I liked as well. We got along well, is what this means.

Penny: Minty-Winty!~ Hey, hey!

Mint: Hi Pen-

Penny: I went to your room and knocked on the door for like, forever! But you didn't answer, so I thought you weren't there- and you weren't- so I came here! 'Cuz this is where you go when you have a freak out! And so I'm here now!

Mint: Oh, yeah... Some bad things are happening! Emergency meeting, Tim's not okay, I mean... And now, I find out that Karen and Kaylee read my diary! This is terrible! EVERYTHING IS TERRIBLE!

Penny: Ugh, I overheard them talking about it! Kaylee's just AWFUL! I'm so sowwy all of this is happenin' to you.

Me: Well, do you know what the emergency is? It doesn't have anything to do with the Double Ks say, reading Mint's diary out loud or anything, does it...?

Mint: BLU! Don't even say that! I don't even want to think about it!

Penny: Oh, no. I was spying, er, overhearing some of the Guawdians' conversations a minute ago, and it has nothin' to do with that, Blu-y!~

Me: Good... But what does it have to do with?

Penny: Um, well, there's a teeny little fire in the art room, but it got put out. And...

Penny paused for a really long time, obviously debating whether or not to tell me something.

Me: And? And what?

Penny: And everything in there got destroyed!

I just sat there, stunned. Everything in the art room... Destroyed?! But there was more. I could tell by the look on Penny's face.

Penny: And... *sob* Karen and Kaylee started it! They started the fire! They knew how much *sob* all our art pieces meant to us, and so they burnt them up... But *whimper* the fire got out of control so they ran! I heard them planning it, but I *sob* I... Didn't think they'd actually do anything!

I didn't know what to do. There wasn't anything we could do- everything was gone. We all just kind of sat there before Tim's Guardian walked in to break the silence. Thomas, the Guardian, looked around nervously. Minty was extremely upset, I was pale as a ghost, and Penny was crying and wailing like a madman. He opened his mouth, but didn't say anything. We all knew it would be bad news.



Tom: Uh, Blu?

Me: ...
Yes, I can voice 3 periods! It sounds something like a really really really quiet 'huh'.

Tom: I've got bad news...

Today is the worst day! Well, yesterday was. I was too upset to even write! I can't believe Thomas even told me that! It's all so HORRIBLE!!!! Okay, wait. I haven't even said what happened yet... Um, sorry lyrics... BUT IT'S JUST SO HORRIBLE! IT'S AWFUL! UGH, I could just faint dramatically right now! Okay, so, quick recap. Trust me, you'll need it. So, basically, everything in the art room got destroyed, right? Because Karen and Kaylee did it, right? And we KNOW they did it! We know they did! So, of course, we told the Principal... But guess what?! GUESS WHAT, LYRICS?! NOTHING HAPPENED TO THEM! NOTHING! NOT ONE SINGLE THING! UGH! I hate them all so much right now!! And, also, Tom gave me the news about Tim...

Tom: I've got bad news...

Me: What... Is... It?
I couldn't even say it normal! It was all drawn out and weird...

Tom: Timothy. He's not doing good.
Thomas looked like he was gonna cry. I don't blame him, either! THE SITUATION, LYRICS! IT WAS BAD!

Me: Oh... Oh...? Uh, really... Not good? Like, uh, um, like... Like bad? Really bad? H-how bad? Um, like... Really... Bad...?
I was SO dumb sounding! It was awful! I wasn't even thinking! I was just saying random junk! It was like I didn't even care, that's what it sounded like... And I did! I did care, a lot!

Tom: Yes. Bad. I don't know exactly...

Mint: OH MY GOSH. I AM SO DONE! SO DONE RIGHT NOW! UGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! It's one thing to hear it from Serene, but from Tom now, too! I was hoping it was all fake, just like... Hear-say or something, but... It's NOT!

And just like that, they both left. Well, Tom and Mint. Penny was just kind of... Stunned. Like she was a deer in headlights. Mint was crying, and I could hear her as she ran down the hall back to her room. But Nina still wasn't here? Why? She'd know what to do. Nina was smart, and I wasn't. That's why she's a Guardian, and I'm not. That's why she's friends with Tom, and I'm not.

Penny: Blu-y?

Me: ...

Penny: Things are... Bad...

Me: ...

Penny: Real bad.

Me: ...

Penny: ...

Me: Yeah.

Then, I we kind of cried it out. Things were bad. and there wasn't anything we could do about it. I didn't know what Mint was doing, what Tom was doing, what Serene or Nina were doing... At that moment, it was just Penny and me, sitting in a cold, kinda dark-ish room, crying. Just us. Like nothing else in the world even existed anymore. Not Tim, not the Intercom lady, not any of the Guardians, not Karen and Kaylee, just us. Just Penny, just me... I don't think either of us even knew why we were crying anymore, but it felt right. Like it was what we were supposed to do. And maybe it was.
