<--- how I'll start all my stories, no matter how serious.
It was a normal day for teenage Maria. She woke up at five thirty, grabbed her fluffy yellow coat, and ran outside to grab her bike. She rode to school, and was there at six. The young red haired girl stuffed her small hands in her pockets, and trudged inside Terinville High School. She eyed the area around her, the same grey-yellow walls, the same boring blue floor tiles. She turned the corner and headed into math class. Some fraction is scrawled across the black-blue board as a tall woman speaks to
"Miss Frederik, you're late," said a cold feminine voice attached to a woman with pale white skin, greasy black hair tied in a stiff bun.
"Hahah, obviously," Maria rolled her eyes and plopped down in one of the back seats.
"Miss Frederik, please explain why you are tardy!" the feminine voice ringed out.
"Why?" exclaimed Maria. She opened up her backpack and got out her butterfly note book.
The woman who spoke stomped over to Maria and glared at her, "Maria, go to detention!"
"Whatever," Maria walked out of the classroom with a hidden smirk. Her slow walk turned into a quick skip as she went into detention. She swung open the door and sat in a blue plastic chair, when her vision turns black, two small hands clasped over her almost white eyes.
"Guess who?" A sweet voice whispers calmly in her ear.
"Hmmm, could it possibly be someone named...Falicia maybe?"
"Perhaps!" the person removed their hands from Maria's face. Maria turns around in her seat to face the person. She sees the person has short white hair with three orange strikes in the front, golden cat like eyes, and a huge smile.
"Come on, Falicia, lets make some chaos!" Maria smiles widely, revealing large pointed teeth.
Falicia hands Maria a can of bright pink spray paint, the two race out of detention, and start spray painting everything while everyone was inside their classes, unaware of the rebellious act of the two teenage girls. Falicia spots a poster of some dude raising his arm up to the sky, the words “it’s the beginning of the end...” coming out of his mouth in a speech bubble.
“Hey, Maria, come look at this! Falicia called out. Quickly, Maria sprinted over to Falicia and took a look at the poster.
“Well, that is a bit..weird? Let’s spray it!” Maria said with a laugh then started spraying the poster in pink paint. Suddenly, the air turned cold and still, as if a presence came into the room. The cold air sends a shiver up Falicia’s and Maria’s spine, causing both of them to look behind them. A dark black creature was behind them, with large grass green eyes, and a wicked smile on it’s face.
Maria shuddered, “Who...who are you?”
The creature strolled up to her on it’s long claws, “Me? Why, I am Xenthena!” it smirked and walked to Falica, “Who are you?”
“I’m Falicia, and this is Maria...what are you?” questioned Falicia, her voice tinted with fear.
“Why, my dear, I’m just here to inform you!” Xenthena smiled lovingly at the two girls. She put her hand up to the sky, and waved it in a circle, creating a dark image with yellow stars everywhere.
Maria stared at the black image with wonder, “What is that?” she asked Xenthena.
“My dear, it’s the beginning of the end!” Xenthena replied warmly.
“May...may I go there?” Falicia asked in a dull, almost toneless, voice.
“Wait, Falicia, we don’t know what it is!” Maria argued and raised her right eyebrow questioningly.
Xenthena looked at both the girls lovingly and put her hands on their cheeks, “Of course you can go, darling, of course!” Xenthena waved over to the image. The image seemed to swirl, and change into many different swirling colors, gold, black, red, green, blues, and purples. Falicia, her face blank of emotion, walked slowly to the image, her arms reaching out as if she wants to grab it. Before she puts her hand inside the image, Maria rips her away fiercely and slaps her in the face.
“FALICIA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Maria screamed at Falicia in fury, hot tears streaming down her face.
“What...where...Maria?” Falicia scanned the area, her face a mixture of bewilderment and terror.
“Falicia, what’s wrong?” Maria grabbed Falicia’s shoulders and asked her urgently.
“It was dark...all dark...where was I?” Falicia asked her voice like that of a child. The two teenagers stared at each other in terror, then their eyes darted to the spot where Xenthena was, but there was no Xenthena anywhere to be seen.
“It’s the beginning of the end...” the two girls whispered in a monotone voice at the same exact time. A sudden cold breeze blew through the school as the bell rings for the girls to get to science class.
