"Well hello hello lovelies! Kaden here. I've been taking sort of a back seat since you've started reading,
but to change it up a bit I'd like to explain my relationships from my point of view. The narrative is nice and all,
but for this type of thing it'd be a bit too impersonal, you know? I admit that I'm not the best raconteur, but I'll try
my best to woo you with my eloquent speech.~ I come across more viscets on my travels than I can feasibly count,
but there are a few select few who stand out to me for one reason or another.

"Whenever we meet up, we usually trade herbal remedies,
but he’s never let me peek inside of his grandmother’s jour-
nals where he says he keeps his notes. The curiosity still eats
at me! He also has a good few customs from his religion that
I find a bit odd at times, but who am I to judge, anyhow? It
definitely doesn’t stop me from accompanying him whenever
he does his religious business, even if half the time I haven’t
the foggiest of what’s going on. It’s... comforting, being in
his presence. I feel that he doesn’t expect much from me,
which sounds a bit harsh in all honestly, but I enjoy his accep-
ting nature. He doesn’t expect me to be strong, or smart, or
courageous, or happy all the time. And above all else, I thank
him for it."
“It’s always a joy to see Curare on my travels, whether
it be us traveling together during certain times or us
meeting up for a few days. The first time I met him
I was honestly surprised at his zealous dedication
towards his goddess and how much it influences his
actions, but I realized that his religiousness only acc-
ented his seemingly innate dedication to pretty much
everything that he does. Hah, but I however cannot say
the same. He’s as sweet as he can be, and it never hurts
that he doesn’t turn me away when I pass through his ter-
ritory. Though, the humidity in South America is so
uncomfortable! I’m not sure how he stands the rainforest
when he’s not traveling..."

“Oho, now Amadeus is quite the character.
When I first came across him on my travels, we clicked almost
instantly. He’s likely the largest flirt I’ve come across to date,
but I’m always able to get a good laugh around him and match
him step for step. It’s all in good fun though. Very good fun.
Amadeus is so opulent too... definitely opulent enough to be sit-
ting pretty as a fine jewelry maker and act more finicky than I
can handle sometimes. I rarely have more than a pouch-full of
money on me at any given time and learned to not be picky, so
I simply cannot relate to him in that arena. And yet, he isn’t stin-
gy about his money in the slightest- his own brand of generosity is
something I deeply admire. I can’t accept any of his more expen-
sive gifts, but I do have a bundle of small Lady Amherst's pheasant
feathers that he gave to me. I guess as a jewelry maker, he has a
eye for prettier things like this. It’s no doubt thoughtful of him.
What? The plumage is beautiful."

“Hah, this turned into a reflection more than
anything else... But... Wait, wait. I have to get this
off of my chest before I finish. Gatsby and his
family actually saved my life. I feel as if I owe
them everything and then some to this day. I don't
express it all that much, but my heart leaps into
my throat whenever I recall how grateful I am to
this pack for what they've done for me. It was only
Gatsby and Maia at the time who made up their little
band, but I barely remember the day where they
pulled me out of that river. I just remember being
broken with grief.
Viscets are animals, no doubt, but for a long time,
I didn't even feel like I tangibly existed. My mind
became so fractured that my true name lost all of
its meaning to me. To this day, I can't even use my
birth name because it doesn't even feel like it be-
longs to me. I didn't choose the nickname Kaden by
choice. Gatsby and Maia had to call me that because
I lost so many of my memories back then. I eventual-
ly gained the majority back, like my ability to heal,
and the fact that I actually hated the colors orange
and green at one point... It all seems so surreal, to
think back to a time before Gatsby and Maia. There
are still holes to fill, however.
But somehow, someway... Those two were able to
piece me back together with what they were working
with. They helped me find my path again. Their down
to earth-ness, and quiet support. I...
....I-I’m glad that they gave me Kaden as a nickname.
And y’know, one of the nicest things Gatsby's ever said
to me is that he likes the name Kaden too. Says it suits
me.”
“There... honestly isn't much to say about
those four. Well, I dunno, I’m actually around them
a good bit so I’ve become accustomed to their pre-
sence, so, well. None of them are even related
in the slightest and Maia and Gatsby aren't even mates.
Those two just kinda raise two kids together? Hey, they
make it work somehow. When they're all together I hon-
estly just consider them all to be one singular unit with
how easily they get along, but they are so intro-
verted... When I’ve been invited into their den, the si-
lence, while comfortable, makes me realize how quiet
they can get. Which is odd, because it doesn't take much
to realize how intense Maia and Anais get sometimes...
Doesn't mean they aren't fun though. Maia has accompan-
ied me on my travels once or twice and she’s a character
all on her own, I gotta tell ya...
It amazes even me at how spontaneous she gets. And Anais
definitely takes after Maia! I’m actually the closest with
that little kiddo. Don't tell anyone I said this, but I some-
times teach her fighting tips. Which, yeah, probably isn't
the best combination since she's a bit violent... But in a
good way, truly! Gatsby probably thinks I’m a bad influ-
ence on Anais, but he lets me teach her tips anyway
‘cause Anais has Gatsby wrapped around her little paw.
And knowing Gatsby, if he had more time, he would teach
her himself. Gatsby though... Gatsby is ah, well, just kinda
mean to anyone but Anais, Maia, and Adrien.
He can be nice, but he just isn't usually. Especially to me,
like I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m an idiot. Adrien’s the most
mellow of the four, which is honestly a breath of fresh air. He
mostly asks me about my experiences at medical school since
he wants to be a doctor, but considering how much stress I went
through, he’s got his work cut out for him. I believe in him, though.”▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
“My my, I just unloaded some surprisingly heavy stuff... Still though, I feel like it was
good to say regardless. Laying out my feelings bare is hard, but I'm glad I did so. But, onto
my more minor relationships! There are a good bit of these, but I suppose I could tell you about
two viscets I met recently in my travels.”
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
“Jeez, me being wary of a viscet who's barely
morethan half my age... She’s actually a nomad like I
am and seems to get even more estranged than I do on
my bad days, so we've rarely if ever met up after that first
incident. When we do, we certainly aid each other, but I
get the feeling that the young female only takes me with
a grain of salt. Treating her the way she wishes to be treat-
ed isn’t a struggle at all, but it must be lonely for her, at
least a little.”
“Malyutka is someone I came to respect even after
only a few encounters. My first meeting with her consisted of
me trying to find a way to move her out of a ravine without
having her faint or die of blood loss from a fatal flank
wound. Even with death knocking at her door she still tried
to rip my head off before I healed her. That week making
sure she didn't die of infection was the most stressful week
I remember to date, and I went through medical final
exams. She definitely made her displeasure known in
that week, but I think now she... tolerates me.”
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
“The first time I visited him in Beijing in that tourist
trap, the Forbidden City, he lowkey side-eyed me
the whole time! I mean, it might have been be-
cause of that human child I scared on my way in,
but how was I to know that my grin showed a bit
too many teeth? I’m not even sure how Jianyu
knew since he wasn’t anywhere near me when it
happened. I guess I spend my time around too many
rowdy visclings... Still think Jianyu’s cute though.
But I don’t think he’ll give me a chance anytime soon.
Not gonna lie though, If I ever try to analyze what my
type is, he would no doubt be at the top of my list.
Guess I’ll just admire from afar for the time being.”
“Okay, so um. Jianyu is handsome. Almost like
the beautiful type of handsome that’s borderline intimidating.
Which is odd all things considering, since he’s such a small
viscet and I don’t think he could even hurt a fly. I come across
beautiful viscets on a daily basis, but Jianyu just seems to have
a certain charm to him... Just the way he moves reminds me of
some type of serpent. Every step measured and controlled, and
the rare times when he speaks his warm voice has an unconscious
sensual lilt to it... He’s kind too, but somehow that kindness doesn’t extend to me!”coding by _Alex_
