name: Nagisa
gender: (He/They)
personality:
Nagisa is a hot head of epic proportions.
He simply can't help himself in this confusing, odd modern world he has reawakened to.
Besides being a bit of a fire fox, he is actually very calculating,
always careful to make the first step and then
tentatively the other.
He lets his mind run ahead of him at times and finds
it difficult to focus more on the things at hand
more often than not.

Very traditional in his ways of thinking,
he finds this new world to be terrifying but liberating.
Despite this however it is very difficult for him to
let go of the past and in times of fear or need
he must seek out old shrines that have grown
old or have been destroyed. Museums about history
are something he detests as he finds them to be
misleading. Still they usually have one or two
things right.

shadow's name: Ami
Shadow's personality:
The "calm" one who show pictures on her "face".
Is actually very shifty but holds nothing but caring
for Nagisa's well being. The fan has her own mind
and her own sense of doing things, always willing
to show just what she thinks and why. Nagisa and
Ami are very interlocked as both are from the same
past world.

However Ami is more adapted to this modern society
than Nagisa and helps him adapt as best she can. She
knows there is some potential in this world that they
have yet to see. Snarky, and quite the amusing story
teller, Ami holds reputation for seeming 'cursed' to
those who don't know better. She enjoys scaring
others, especially those she knows who deserve it.
She may seem inanimate, but her 'face' shows just
how wrong that is.

Hɪsᴛᴏʀʏ
As told from the mouths of ancient prayer and during the times of spirits, a doll was handcrafted by a woodsmen. Painted delicately with care and loving, the doll was happy, it's frame smaller than most, it's body crafted from the finest of wood and it's creator overjoyed in his creation. A beautiful doll. A beloved doll.

It's creator gave it a beautiful name, Nagisa, and up in the shop it went, smiling with a gentle, serene smile at those that passed the store. But over time since it's creation, it's smile had begun to fade and so too went their creators joy. This doll, while beautiful, could never replace the loss in the man's heart for he had learned that his only son of 18 had died in the wars that dredged through ancient Japan. The shopkeeper had been lost with grief, only to have built Nagisa to help himself cope. His wife had died in giving birth to their son and so he honored their lives as best he could. There were times where he would hold the inanimate doll in his arms while sobs of grief racked him, days when he spoke to the doll that would never speak back. Times when his pain was most palpable, he raged to Nagisa, belittling them for not being real, for not bringing them back, for not being his son.

And on those days that calm, serene smile faded until it seemed there was only a line left in its place.

On those days, the shopkeeper swore, those painted eyes glared back at him, flashing but the shopkeeper dismissed it until at last he could take it no longer and would apologize to his creation, holding the doll close to his aching heart. "I am lost," he would mutter to the doll sadly. "You truly are all I have left."

The painted smile would reappear and the heat in those eyes lost their glare, presenting warmth instead. For the old man, his creator.

During festivals, the shopkeeper would leave his shop and Nagisa would be alone and awaiting his return. He would come into the shop, not entirely sober as he found his son waiting in the window and he'd say. "Come along my boy, we have to head home." And Nagisa's smile would broaden that the man swore he saw teeth gleaming in the light of the soft moon.

    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

That was nearly 500 years ago. Over that time time, Nagisa became the shopkeeper's prized possession and was very well cared for, but as the wars crept closer and closer to home, the now old and ancient man had kept Nagisa in a box, hoping to one day reclaim him once it was over.

    He never returned.

No instead Nagisa was buried underground for years and years without the light of the sun to warm him, or the sound of the old man's laughter in his ears. He was slowly beginning to fade until the sounds of laughter filled his ears in that box. Above him. Sounds. People! His old man? The Shopkeeper?! Was he there?!

Something was kindling, firing, blazing. The box? Himself? What did it matter if his old man was there! Nagisa for the first time in forever felt something other than lost and afraid. He felt-

An eruption of scorching flames was said to have risen from the ground in a fury. When sent to investigate the humans found nothing more than an ancient looking doll with burned markings. The doll was so well crafted however, to have been preserved all this time. An archeologist found the doll and decided it best to keep it, after trying to stop the embers that threatened to eat away at it. And thus Nagisa was plunged into the modern world with no sense of direction. That is until he met Ami.
    ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

As a doll, Nagisa only knew so much about the world around him. He was created and cared for in the window of the shopkeeper's toy shop. He was the only one to never be bought, but truly that was the point. Now however he wished someone would have bought him away from this nightmare. Trapped inside a glass box, with no way out, watching people, so many people all at once move this way and that inside this strange building with hardly any light but the one shining above him. It is there that he meets Ami, the shadow having been pinned to the board and struggling to be freed.

So he freed her. The two left, Nagisa having burned the glass through to created a whole big enough for him and the fan and ran for the exit. Desperate to be free. It had been raining that day and Nagisa had struggled through it as best he could before shuddering and finally taking shelter with Ami somewhere dry.

The two had then gotten to know each other and Nagisa had been pleased to know she came from the same ancient world as he had but was surprised that she'd been searching for him. It made sense to her now why she hadn't been able to find him all those years ago when he explained what had happened.

Since those 500 years Nagisa wasn't alone anymore.

He didn't know where he was. He didn't know why. But he wasn't alone and that was the part that spoke to him the most. Ami promised him with her picturesque face to never leave him behind and Nagisa believed her. And still does to this day.

Now the real question is, where do they go from here?

If there's one thing Nagisa is slowly learning it's that in order to find his new place in the modern world, he's not going to be able to do it alone. Thankfully for him he has a few friends always willing to help him out.

    Image
First up is the ever so strong, mama bear doll Samirah and her shadow bear cub, Adi. While discovering that he was still in Japan after all, just a very, very strange new Japan, the Fox Doll struggled to find balance. In fact he struggled to find anything. Until he stumbled upon Samirah and her shadow. As it turned out they didn't get along too great at first, but as time progressed, Nagisa learned to respect and listen rather than talk with only his heart. He struggled under her rigorous training having never trained a day in his life but soon grew not only to grow in character but in strength. Samirah proves to be not only a good friend but a kindly soul for the trouble fox boy. He vents to her and she listens readily and attentively. Nagisa never has to worry about feeling too lost with her around and one day he hopes to repay her for her kindness and her honesty. As for her shadow well, Nagisa supposes he's a little cute when he's not so full of himself, though Ami doesn't tend to enjoy his presence much.

    Image
If you want to speak about someone that ticks Nagisa off, then we should talk about Ryn. Ryn is aa thorn in this fox's side and makes him uneasy. That little rat shadow he has is even worse. Nagisa however can respect the King, even if he doesn't find him to be very appealing to argue with. They both hold very different views and their ideals couldn't be more different. Still there's a lingering respect even with how tense they make each other. Nagisa understands having old views and despite them being very different ones, they are traditional all the same. As for Ryn, well it could be said that he likes Nagisa's strategy and ideals. While Nagisa is quick to get ahead of himself, and has to back track, once explained his ideas aren't terrible and even Excyvl can agree that he is sly. While likely to get carried away, these to begrudgingly respect one another and won't let anyone else in the way of that. Ami on the other hand finds them both to be oddly intriguing.

    Image
A baffling doll to meet, but one that Nagisa finds he can appreciate in this new world is Kitsumae and his shadow Ai. Kisumae, Nagisa enjoys calling him Kit though much to the doll's displeasure, is very helpful in the ways of technology. Where Nagisa would get sick of trying to figure out how these things work on his own, Kitsumae is quick to help him and even shows him how laptops and cellphones work. Ami learns many new expressions from him too that she likes to show off to Nagisa. Ai, is an interesting shadow though they don't do much at all. Ami is indifferent towards them and Nagisa feels the feeling to be neutral but is all too happy to learn from Kitsumae. One lesson the fox is learning right now is how to play video games without blowing up controllers.

    Image
Now here's a sight for sore eyes, erm, eye. Rohan is probably someone Nagisa wouldn't have met on his own volition, but ended up doing so anyway. A rather impressive but flirty doll, Nagisa has to keep his wits about him when he's around. Now it's not from liking hi per se as it is from well being rather thrown off. His traditional views often keep him from quipping back anything that could lead him on, but his personality and temper can't help themselves in this fight as he has to say something! Plus the bugger's shadow, Azalea is a thief and keeps trying to steal Nagisa's necklaces. Still Nagisa supposes Rohan is alright. A bit insecure at times, but overall Nagisa likes him enough. He certainly gets enough flowers from him. Ami thinks Azalea to be a piece of work but can't find it in her to be protective of Nagisa when they are with these two seeing how proper and nice Rohan is to them. Still she has her...erm, face on him though.

    Image
Lion and Faux are, in Nagisa's opinion, a rather adorable duo. Nagisa learns much about society and society views from Lion. It's sad to say but it's a little reassuring for the fox to know that not everyone agrees just as they hadn't those 500 years ago. He feels guilty for such thoughts though and wishes to learn more. Lion is the one who taught Ami, Emojis which are her favorite much to Nagia's dismay as she always bugs him with new ones. Still there is much to learn and both Nagisa and Ami try their best.

Overall this group is teaching Nagisa just what it means to be a doll in the Dollhouse and part of this strange new place. Ami and Nagisa try their best to learn from each of them, and certainly try to understand though sometimes it does get to be too much. On times like those Nagisa runs to Samirah for training in the woods and it helps him clear his head and some of his past traditional views. But not all of them.

Thanks to Aviate, ~Silver, and Nekoma's Lion for giving me these babes to work with! They are all so precious!
    Special thanks to Takura. for helping me figure out pictures too ;w;

In the beginning of the morning, with the sky still in plumes of pink and purple the sun only just starting to roll up from the horizon and the shrill sounds of birdsong. The air was chilled and the soft grass frosted over from the night before and for one tired fox and his fan, it was certainly tiring to consider at the moment, anything other than a bed. Well, Nagisa couldn't say he hadn't expected it. Hiking seemed to be one of Samirah's favorite training starts to any day. She was already plowing up the hill, hardly breaking a sweat while Adi teased him from behind her head. Her booming voice made his ears wince at the volume. "Pick it up, Foxy! We got more than a few miles to cover!" Groaning he jogged after her, golden eyes narrowed against the upcoming sunlight. "You sure we couldn't have done this later?" She laughed at him and the following groans of complaint before teasingly threatening that if he didn't get those furry tails in gear they would hike the whole mountain by sunset. Needless to say in few short seconds he was jogging beside her with a huff.

ImageLater on in the day once the skies were warmed up to their robin blue and the clouds drifted lazily on, Nagisa sighed as he carried on from the store, bags heavy with (stolen) goods, only to suddenly be playfully hip checked by a cheeky young doll who was holding out a bouquet of flowers. "For you, M'Lady Na-Gi-Sa!" The older fox grumbled knowing exactly who this blue haired scoundrel was and knowing what he wanted. "I'm no lady!" He huffs and then feelings the beginnings of an embarrassed flush dust his pale cheeks. "I'm certainly not yours!" Rohan smiled, cheeky as always and all bu pushed those flowers into Nagisa's hands, causing the fox boy to groan as he tried to carry on past, batting that darned shadow away from him too. Of course it didn't go that way as the rather proper doll chattered and took some of the bags from him to help carry. That was the only reason he let them carry on, he thought to himself as the two sauntered to the DollHouse. He was contemplating if it were possible to get an off switch on his mouth however.
