A Rambling on Winter and Birds

Postby Burrito Bunny » Wed Feb 10, 2016 1:41 pm

Every year it is this way: the cold harsh winter over takes the land, filling it with icy snow and freezing over the world, only to be lifted away by the gentle spring breeze. New life is able to come forth, replenishing the joy into the land from which winter tossed into frosty disarray. With the warmer days come the animals which fled for their lives, filling the trees with the song absent bird song.

Just as the weather cycles through its changing seasons, animals traverse the same cycle of life a death. Thus with the rebirth of the world the birds create their off spring, handling them with care until they are brought into this world, freed from their fragile shells. It doesn’t take long for them to be forced to take that leap of faith out of the nest, seeing if their wings will provide them with flight as they descend into the summer months.

Summer provides the bird with the high lights of its life. Though not everything may be good, it is all looked upon with fond memories as life begins to wilt away with the onset of fall. With the chill entering the air, bringing the feeling of death itself straight into the fragile bones of the avians, the feathered beasts are forced southward to flee the icy grip of winter.

They will be back though, in time for Spring, though their presence is missed like that of a passed love one. The frozen tundra mourns their disappearance in a way that can only be described as grief; the snow frosty tears of sorrow. For winter has no choice but to push away those it touches with its chilly presence. It is merely a part of the cycle. A cycle which runs so deeply though the world that it would be inconceivable for it to disappear. A cycle which facilitates all of life as we know it.

((Okay, so, yeah. I have no clue what that was or what it means. I shouldn't try to get philosophical, I know. I'll sick to reading Taoist texts and leave it to Lao Tzu to do all this deep thinking, lol. High five if you know who he is! <3

Anyway, regardless of what the heck I just wrote, it is an entry to this competition. It's a cool concept so you should check it out.

And, um, if you want to post here go ahead. I'm finished spewing out my random thoughts so if that's want you want to do, please, be my guest to my humble thread! c:))
