think of a small creature walking towards, you pale blue eyes darting around the room, fear so plainly seen inside their depths. their body was small and skinny, their features looking worn and starved. they looked both famished and parched. when you handed them an apple, they smiled at you. "thank you" they spoke as they wolfed down the fruit, seeming to just swallow it whole in hunger. they were orphaned you realized. "don't you have a home?" you whispered, as they looked around the area once more. they turned back to you, startled at the question, and shook their head frantically. "no..." they replied quietly, turning away from you. you sighed and scratched your head, it was snowing, after Christmas, and this child didn't have a home. you smiled then, and held out your hand. "now you do." you spoke as they gasped and backed away in alarm. they ran before you could speak. but you were confident you'd see them again soon.
