Author's Note

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Everything you see here is mine, was written by me, and was drawn by me unless otherwise stated.
Do not steal my work.
Do not use my pictures without my express permission.
Do not use anything. I don't mind if some of these inspire you to create your own breed of dragon, and they're somewhat similar, but if that's the case do not give them the same name.
I don't mind if you adapt a name as long as the dragon is completely different.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

I didn't know too much about dress-ups and grammar when I wrote most of these, so bear with me until I get off my lazy backside around to fixing them.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

Mature’ in this guide means ‘big enough to ride’.
Every female of these numerous dragon tribes have pointed ears (sort of like a ‘w’) and males have rounded (like ‘u’s).

Mystic

xxxxxMystics are the most common dragons, they’re your average dragon with lots of spikes and an extra large one on the end of their tail.
xxxxxThey have pointed wings like the females’ ears, and they can choose their own size, so, say a brown Mystic decides to grow as large as a two-story house, the reason is unknown, but she will start growing. When she grows tired of being that size, she can also shrink. They don’t usually tend to be too fussy about their sizes, though, and are generally all the same. When they’re only young they grow normally until they’re about six months old, which is around the age they can breathe fire—which is the same colour as themselves.
xxxxxThey can first mate when they’re about a year old, with the eggs being laid six months later and hatching after another six.
xxxxxThey’re usually just one colour, with their claws, spikes, and ears being slightly darker.
xxxxxMystics only have a small amount of magic.
xxxxxWhen they’re eighteen months old they lose four spikes on their necks—like losing teeth—but when they’re about two years old they can choose to grow them back if they wish. However, if the dragon changes its mind it can shed them again, though, at eighteen months old they have no choice and they lose the four spikes at the base of their neck.
xxxxxBut with all of their growing, shrinking, and growing spikes, let this be clear: the spikes don’t just appear, and the dragons aren’t suddenly large or small in the blink of an eye, spikes take weeks to grow—the exact time depends on how large the remaining spikes are, though they do grow quicker than normal spikes—and the dragons themselves take months, or maybe even years to change depending on how big a size difference they’re going through.
xxxxxOn average, Mystics usually live to be about eight-hundred and are found numerous places throughout the world, with mothers being extremely protective of their young.

Ripglider

xxxxxRipgliders are one of the most comfortable dragons to ride, because, unlike most dragons, their spikes end at the base of their neck and begin again after their wings, which are pointed, or spiked like Mystics’. Their wings, spikes, and claws are usually black.
xxxxxUnlike Mystics, Ripgliders can’t dictate what size they are, and, even more unlike Mystics, they mature and can mate at the age of one, even though they aren’t fully-grown until one-and-a-half.
xxxxxThey can breathe fire at a week of age, the amount, heat, and length of time multiplying as the dragon ages. Their fire is also the same hue as its breather.
xxxxxUpon mating the egg-process is the same as Mystics—eggs laid after six months and the same length of time passing before they hatch.
xxxxxRipgliders don’t have much magic, either—but their amount is considerably more than Mystics.
xxxxxOn average, they, too, live to be about eight-hundred.
xxxxxRipgliders can also turn into Ripstiks, with their wings, spikes, and claws the same colour as the grips, and the dragon’s body being the same as the board itself. You can usually tell Ripgliders apart from normal Ripstiks because they have lights in the wheels—although there is one or two exceptions.
xxxxxThey are usually found near or in towns.

Cinder Blaster

xxxxxCinder Blasters are unique because they don’t actually have fire, instead, they shoot a special kind of plasma blast, but the object they fire at does not burn, it instead bursts into a pile of cinders, while only everything in the blast’s line of fire actually burns.
xxxxxThey, too, have pointed wings.
The only recorded sightings of these dragons have been coloured black, although there has been rumours of a different hued Cinder Blaster, but the sights have so far been unconfirmed.
xxxxxIt takes two years for Cinder Blasters to gain the ability to shoot, and they can mate a year later, with the eggs being laid after three months and hatching after the same time has passed. They are also large enough to ride at two years of age, often living to be eight-hundred.
xxxxxCinder Blasters are not the most comfortable dragons to ride, because only two spikes are absent rather than the usual four, so although you can ride them, you get a little squished.
xxxxxCinder Blasters don’t possess much magic at all, and are usually found on, in, and around mountains that are too high for plants to grow and snow to fall.

Fire-thrower

xxxxxFire-throwers are almost always white, with only their spikes, claws, and spiked wings coloured—although for their first two years they are pure white.
xxxxxAlthough several spikes along their backs are missing, they are only absent between the dragon’s wings, so if the dragon’s too small, there’s a good chance you’ll be pummelled by its wings if you attempt to ride it—not to mention by all the wind eddies—so they’re not very comfortable to ride.
xxxxxFire-throwers mature and can mate at the age of five. The eggs are laid after a period of two months and hatch after another two.
xxxxxSimilar to Ripgliders, these dragons only have a middling amount of magic, but their ability to shoot fire takes longer to develop, not developing fully until two months of age. Another unique factor is that they don’t actually breathe fire, they shoot it, and often in the form of fiery balls, which they dispel with amazing accuracy. One other astonishing fact, is: nothing the fire-balls touch burn, except the target the dragon aimed for. How they manage this is completely un-known to the scientific world.
xxxxxFire-throwers usually live on or around snow-covered mountains.

Jewel-flame

xxxxxJewel-flames’ anatomy is unique among dragons, for, instead of one chamber inside them— for fire—they have three. But only the central one is for fire, the second is for precious stones or metals, (uncut) and the third is for gems (polished). All three chambers produce their object the same colour as the dragon itself.
xxxxxThe greatest act of love and trust Jewel-flames are capable of is to disgorge a polished gem for their rider, which they can produce from the moment they’ve hatched—as well as uncut—although it takes about a week for the ability to breathe fire to appear.
xxxxxJewel-flames mature and can mate at the age of two years, with eggs laid after two months and hatching after another three.
xxxxxTheir wings are unique in several ways, for, instead of the usual one set of spiked wings, they have two sets of rounded. Although, like most tribes, they’re a darker hue of the dragon’s shade.
xxxxxJewel-flames’ spikes only halt in-between the dragon’s sets of wings, so, although there’s a place to sit, the wind eddies buffet you if you’re not careful—though, if you sit in the right place they completely by-pass you.
xxxxxHaving an amazing amount of magic, Jewel-flames almost rival Band dragons and Frozen-Flamers—they can only just hold a candle to these two tribes.
xxxxxThey, too, can live to be eight-hundred, and are found almost everywhere—where their colouring will camouflage them, to be exact—but it’s rare to find them in places with extreme climates.

Storm-Rider
(The Jaraedians)

xxxxxStorm-Riders are extremely useful for getting through storms on account of their marvellous wings—they quite enjoy it, too—which have creases like a pop-out card, so they can make their wings bat-like, spiked, or rounded. Storm-Riders are the only known dragons so far to have bat wings.
xxxxxMaturing when they turn four, they can’t mate until four-and-a-half, with the egg process identical to that of the Mystics’ and Ripgliders’—they also live to eight-hundred years—but can’t breathe fire until the age of four.
xxxxxStorm-Riders have spikes from their ears to the tips of their tails, but underneath the four spikes before their wings are hollow slots, rather than the usual flesh-and-bone, and the dragons can somehow rotate the spikes down into the slots to allow room for a saddle.
xxxxxThey tend to be the same colour as celestial objects—like the sun—and storms, but for the first four years of their life, Storm-Rider hatchlings can change to any colour—not just the colour of celestial objects—to camouflage, and have only a little less than Jewel-flames’ amount of magic.
xxxxxFound where storms often brew, Storm-Riders are somehow able to select a cloud to live in and make it solid for tribe mates, but as a normal cloud to different types. Only Storm-Riders and their riders (if they have one) can tell the Cloud Caves apart.

Magical

xxxxxMagicals have very unique wings, having neither spiked, rounded, or bat wings but spikes and curves alternating.
xxxxxBeing any colour in the world, their fire—which they can breathe from hatching—is the same hue as themselves. And their first flames aren’t weak; newly-hatched Magicals can seriously injure humans. Good protection.
xxxxxMagicals can mate at three years of age, but aren’t yet fully-grown until four. They lay eggs half a year later, which hatch after six months.
xxxxxHaving a full row of spikes down their spine, every other spike is twice as tall as usual spines, and, like Mystics, they can shed their spikes at will. Unlike Mystics, though, they can grow these spines back instantly—on average, they take about five minutes to reach their proper size. Magicals are the biggest of all dragons—though there has been an occasional Silent Assassin that has reached the same proportions—and can live to be five thousand years old.
xxxxxMagicals possess an astounding amount of magic, nothing rivals them.
xxxxxThey are usually found on and around towering mountains with mountainous trees, or else in great forests.

Ridge-back

xxxxxRidge-backs are unique in the fact they have no spikes, instead, they have a long ridge running down the length of their back—hence the name—which is darker than the dragon’s original colour. They have pointed wings and huge, powerful club-tails that are the same shade of colour as the dragon’s ridge.
xxxxxRidge-backs are not very comfortable to ride for the first few months—the exact time depends on how much you ride them—so you need a saddle with heaps of excess padding until the ridge where you sit eventually wears down. Once worn down, the ridge does not grow back, so from then on they’re not too uncomfortable.
xxxxxRidge-backs can breathe fire the same hue as themselves at three years of age, which is when they mature. Parent Ridge-backs are extremely protective of their young ones until this age, with only one parent hunting at a time while the other guards the nest—sometimes with assistance from hatchlings of previous broods.
xxxxxBeing able to mate at three-and-a-half, their egg-process mirrors that of the species mentioned previously—only excepting Jewel-flames, Fire-throwers, and Cinder Blasters.
xxxxxThese dragons, too, can live to the age of eight-hundred, and are found all over the world.
xxxxxRidge-backs’ store of magic is miniscule; less, even, than Mystics’.

Frozen Flamer

Image

xxxxxFrozen Flamers are extremely awesome and unique.
xxxxxEvery one of these dragons have at least one white scale, and white on this tribe of dragon glows, which is useful for deep-sea fishing and hunting sharks—a great delicacy—in the night. Because the light attracts fish, they often make the glow as bright as they can: the brighter the glow, the bigger the fish. The bigger the fish, the more the dragon likes it.
xxxxxTheir pointed wings are almost never the same colour as the dragon, who matures at two years of age, but can’t mate until the age of three. Eggs are laid three months later and hatch after a week. The mother spends the week curled around the eggs to supply them with sufficient heat, for it’s rare to find them anywhere apart from frozen regions. The only reason to find them outside of these climates, is if the dragon’s scales are the wrong colour to camouflage in the ice and snow—which is extremely rare—or sometimes if they have a rider. Despite this, Frozen Flamers are only ever colours that will help protect them—blue with snow white claws and spikes and ice-clear wings, for example. Their spikes only extend for a short way after their ears, stopping to allow room for a saddle, and beginning again to run between the dragon’s wings and down the spine to the lashing spikes—which will be explained later.
xxxxxLike Jewel-flames, these dragons, too, have three chambers in their bodies, but Frozen Flamers don’t produce gems, instead, one is for normal fire—the same colour as the dragon’s body—one is for -100c frozen fire—which is the same hue as their wings—and the third is for frost.
xxxxxTheir frozen fire is infinitely more powerful than actual fire. For example, if a forest was burning and a Frozen Flamer ignited it with frozen flames, the frozen fire would extinguish the actual flames and take over from them.
xxxxxFrozen fire is remarkable, you see, it burns whatever the dragon ignited, and it spreads like normal fire, but, after burning itself out, whatever’s left of the object freezes, and the only thing that can put it out immediately are Frozen Flamers—who can breathe their fires and frost from hatching.
xxxxxFrozen Flamers have an immense amount of magic, if all the dragon types’ magic was charted—if it were possible to do such a thing—they would be listed immediately below Magicals.
xxxxxFrozen Flamers’ tails are a unique design, for, instead of expanding into the usual spear-point, they taper into a point—not unlike lizards’. Also, instead of the normal spikes that usually run down the top of a dragon’s tail to the very tip, near the end they have thin needle-like spikes ringing the tail, which, with a particular flick, the can shoot and then instantly regrow. They can also use them for stabbing and spearing prey; having muscly, lengthy tails, they can easily lash it out, spear their prey, and bring it back around to their snouts.
xxxxxFrozen Flamers can almost reach Magicals’ size, but they never completely succeed, and they, too, live to be five thousand.
