I aint even gonna try and hide it. It aint the BEST word in the world, but hey, it works. Lets see... Oh yeah!



My name is Sophie. I'm well, a Penguin. Just gonna let you... Take that in. Yeah, we have diaries too. Just don't question it, okay? Well, truth be told, I don't even question anything. Just let it roll on...

ANYWAYS! Getting a bit offtrack...

So... I live with my parents... Like, most children would. I'm an only child, so I guess I don't have to worry about being forgotten about...



This is my mother. A chicken. She's real sweet, but can be pretty clumsy. Well, I guess it is hard to hold things with just a beak. I mainly do the carrying for her, truth be told.



Then this would obviously be my father.

Wait, how does a Chicken breed with a squid to get a penguin!?

I... Uhh... Don't know. Magic?
Most likely. Anyway, my father. He runs a candy shop. He's pretty hardworking. But for some reason, he's also clumsy. Eh, whatever.

Anyway, I'm starting up my first day of high school tomorrow. If I remember correctly, its called Floataway High? Yeah! That! Said to be one of the best High schools in our area. Apparently. So anyway, I must rest if I want to be ready for school tomorrow. I will see you all tomorrow, I suppose.

Welcome to my "diary" series!

Follow the adventures of Sophie, the Penguin, as she goes through highschool, meeting friends, making enemies and prehaps, finally figure out the truth. For once.

Main characters:



Sophie Glowstone, a teenage penguin. Shes pretty sacastic and direct. Never afraid to question the normal, she adores drawing and plushies. Deep down though, she is understanding. People have refered to her as a bore.

Mary Mangle, a dog. She sorts all the people out into groups. Constantly she judges by how they look, and not what they are.

Ramen Claw, a griffin. Very thoughtful, and great at analzying situations and people. Doesn't talk too much to others, as they tend to just isolate him and Sophie. Doesn't believe in the grouping system.

Andre Treemyah, a cat. Very sporty. There are a alot of rumors about him, especially about the people he dates.

Rosemary Glowstone-Squidton, a Chicken. A kind woman, though a bit clumsy. Sophie's Mother.

Lucas Squidton, a squid. Married to Rosemary, He runs a sweet shop. Real hardworking, but also very clumsy. Sophie's Father.

5) OUTCASTS are not a cat, nor a dog. Even if I should hate you, you will never be an outcast, as long as your a cat or dog.

So THIS is floataway high. Doesn't seem that bad, truth be told. Infact, it seems pretty fancy. Yet... So daunting... But this is the best school in the area. So it ought to be good, right? Anyway... First we gotta report to... The main hall! Yeah!

Wait.

WHERE is the main hall!?

Gah! I shouldn't be late on the first day!! Maybe someone ought to know! Like maybe...



Him!!

Suddenly, I ran up to him, before mumbling
"Excuse me..."
"Woah woah woah!!" He called "First of all, who are you and what group you in!?"
"G-Group?" I questioned. Whats up with this "group" thing? Aren't we all the same anyway?
"Yeah. All students must have a group." He grumbled "If you don't have one, go introduce yourself to Mary."
"And she is where?" I asked
"There."
He proceeded to point towards another dog.



So THATS Mary. Well, I guess I better introduce myself to her. I proceeded to waddle my way over to her. She took one good look at me before muttering
"Outcast."
Wait, is that my group? Outcasts? But I haven't even introduced myself to her!
"But I haven't even-" I pleaded
"Quiet. Outcast." Mary growled

Bit harsh?

Anyway, I managed to find the main hall. Don't ask how, I just figured it out.

Okay, I asked a teacher. So what?

Anyway, we were taken to the main hall to be introduced to the school, its rules... Real boring stuff.

It wasn't until lunch when things got interesting.

Anyway, lunch started off as normal. I grabbed my meal, and went to find a seat. The only trouble was that EVERYWHERE was literally TAKEN! Seriously, there was a sea of cats and dogs, all on their one separate tables! The only table where there was space was on a table where only one person was sitting. I was pretty sure he was a griffin.



It was worth a shot, I suppose. Slowly, I strolled over to him, before asking:
"Mind if I sit with you?"
Suddenly, his sky-blue eyes where staring right infront of me. He seemed very... Shocked. To say the least.
"Go right ahead." He replyed, as he took a bite out of his meal.
"Thanks." I sighed as I placed my tray on the table.
"You must be an outcast, correct?" He inquired.

Wait, how did he know that!? I mean, nobody even knows me here! Heck, they don't even know my name!

Most teachers just refer to me as Glowstone. AKA part my surname, Glowstone-Squidton. I just prefer Glowstone, like my mother.
"Sadly, yes." I grumbled
"Knew it." He said "In this school, your either a cat, a dog, or a nobody."
"A what!?" I shouted
"Cat, dog, or nobody." He repeated ""Take a look in the room. Tell me the majority of pets you see."

Quickly, I turned my head around, so I could survey my surroundings. Hate to say it, but he's right. The majority of the animals here ARE cats and dogs.

"The Majority is cats and dogs..." I mumbled
"And do you see any other animals?" He inquired
"No." I confirmed
"Yep. Welcome to Floataway high," He smiled "The best place, with a society run by cats and dogs."

A society ran by cats and dogs!?

Well... He does speak the truth.

"You got your 5 groups in Floataway high." He continued "Populaurs, Jocks, Nerds, Emo..."

I could of sworn I heard him spit "I hate saying that..." after he mentioned Emos.

"And of course, your outcasts." He finished "AKA, me and you."
"We're the only outcasts!?" I screamed in disbelief
"Afraid so." He agreed "And its because we aint Cats or dogs."

RING! RING! RING!

"By the way, what is your name?" He asked "Before I head off?"
"Sophie." I smiled "Yours?"
"Ramen Claws." Ramen replied ""Just call me Raven."
"Meet me outside afterschool?" I requested

Raven nodded as he flew off.

Truth be told, he wasn't that bad! But, why would people just isolate us?
