"Hit the road jack, don't you come back no more."
By consulting.detectivePersonality:: Cypress has a tough personality of a fighter, ready to lunge into any situation with full confidence. She's reckless, wild, and her energy shows no bounds. After all, to be a farmer, you must be stubborn, tough, and full of vitality to get you through your days. A strong sense of independence radiates from this girl, as she refuses to ask for much help in whatever she does and prefers to do tasks on her own. This applies especially to her work as a farmer, which is her pride and joy. Those who know her playfully call her the "Queen of Sass" or "Sassafras", due to her sassy and sarcastic nature. If you think she's bad now, talk to her when she hasn't had her morning coffee- you'll probably lose an ear.
Total honesty is Cypress' moral policy, and if you ask her a question, she will give you the truth. It may hurt your feelings or leave you satisfied, either way, she expects you to be accepting of her answer. She could've easily been a politician or lawyer with her witty remarks, problem solving, and her love of arguing. On the other hand, she's an excellent listener and an understanding friend when you need someone to embrace you. She is an amiable Plumerian if you can get past the stinging part of her personality. A good friend to the point of mother; if someone hurts a friend, she will defend them like a mother bear defends her cub. Don't expect her to calm down until a lesson is learned, because she tends to hold grudges for a very, very long time.
Additional hobbies:: Cooking, hiking, throwing little parties at her farm, and a strong advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
Quirks:: Mainly a locavore, can't get through the day without coffee, gets flustered around women she doesn't know, quick to jump to conclusions.
Pet peeves:: Plumerians who chew with their mouths open, homophobes, smokers, industrial "farms."

Warning:: Could possibly be sensitive for certain people? A really mean father involved. Her dark brown flats clicked and clacked as she paced restlessly across the freshly polished tile floors. Three sets of footsteps were approaching the ballroom at a rapid pace. Anxiety arose inside Cypress, her shaky and sweaty hands flattening the expensive silk dress she wore. The first to enter was her father, his deep blue gaze seeming to blaze with fury. Soon after, her brother stumbled inside, their mother trailing after him. Both with panicked expressions.
"Father, what did you want to speak to me about?" Cypress questioned, keeping her voice as calm as she could.
Her father prowled towards her, his face wrinkling and reddening. "You know what it is... I can't have a lesbian like you ruining our family's great name!"
Their mother scrambled forward, desperately trying to calm her husband down. "Dear, I-"
"There's nothing else to be said. I want her out by sunset." His harsh eyes locked onto the fidgeting Cypress.
It was her brother, Alastair, that was the next to state his opinion. He rushed at his sister, wrapping his arms around her waist as his small hands wrinkled at the article of clothing. "Love is love!" He shrieked at their father, tears beginning to swell in his eyes. "Love is love..." He repeated, his voice no more than a murmur now.
Their father stormed forward, ripping his son away from his sister and popping him on the forehead. "Fool! It's not love. It's being unnatural, and it brings unneeded attention!"
Alastair vigorously shook his head, earning another blow to his skull. Their mother finally leapt forward to defend her children, beginning to yell at her husband. The sounds of her parents arguing, her brother's weeping, and her own anger swirled in her mind. "ENOUGH!" She roared, her booming voice echoing throughout the spacious ballroom.
She cleared her throat, staring down her father. "Fine, I'll leave. Just as you asked."
Alastair began to cry out an objection, but was quickly silenced by her glare. Their mother rushed over to gather up her young son in her arms. Despite the misery of his family, their father seemed pleased.
"Good, you have just two hours to pack your things."
Those two hours went by too fast for Cypress. Her hands constricted around the handles of her luggage, hauling them with her as she walked down the empty halls. She could hear the faint sobs of her brother, and the distinct sound of her mother's soft footsteps approaching closer and closer. Once she came into sight, her sandy brown eyes fell onto Cypress. She continued walking towards her daughter until they were almost face-to-face, and just then, Cypress felt a something thin and cold tickle her neck.
"Alastair wanted me to give you that locket." She smiled solemnly, forcing a cream-colored purse into Cypress' hands. "And money, to get what you need. Spend it wisely, my dear." She finally stepped aside, politely giving a brief bow of the head.
Cypress thanked her mother softly, and continued toward the door. Once her exit into her new life came into sight, the figure of her father came into view. Standing smugly beside it, the door open as he awaited the exit of his "disgraceful" daughter. She puffed out her chest and strode with full confidence to the door, masking her fear and agony. Before she exited, she turned to her father one last time, curling her lip with disgust. "Au revoir." She sneered, spitting on his shoe as she gave a mocking bow.
Content bubbled inside her as his expression went from pleased to enraged. Finally, she took her first step alone into the world, the cold winter air embracing her. In that moment, she felt like a canary released from its tight cage. It was time for her to be free at last.

Alastair - By first looking between the two, you wouldn't think they were related. Alastair took after their father in his appearance, Cypress took after their mother. These two get along surprisingly well for siblings, though of course, they do butt heads with their conflicting personalities. Cypress will often tease Alastair for his quiet, serious, and introverted nature, and in return Alastair tends to take her teasing personally. They keep in contact the old-fashioned way; sending letters back and forth. Occasionally, Alastair will take time out of his schedule to visit her for a few days, though she refuses to visit him in the house due to bad memories. Cypress is also able to tell that Alastair is falling hard for someone, but she's determined to find out who this Plumerian is.

Taiga - Taiga is technically Cypress' niece, a PPS who was adopted by her brother. Cypress adores the only small child in her family, and will spoil her rotten every time she visits. Her treats to Taiga usually consist of fruits, ice cream, or honey, all from her farm. The two get along very well, and Cypress is currently teaching the little one in the language of sarcasm. She affectionately calls Taiga "her little spy", since she's always keeping watch over her adoptive father. Though Cypress honestly can't see how she's so fond of Winter.

Madelyn - Cypress knows Alastair's best friend fairly well from back when she lived at the mansion. She was always there to babysit the two and make sure that they weren't breaking anything or getting into trouble. The very few times she does see Madelyn, she's always amazed about how much she's grown, to the point where she even has a child of her own. These two get along well, though there are times when they butt heads. After all, Madelyn's mellowed out personality mixed with Cypress' wild nature don't mix all that well. When they're together, at least one argument may break out.

After being exiled out of her own home and traveling around Brighton, she overheard gossip of a piece of land going up for sale in Warwickshire. She rushed to the opportunity, taking a bus all the way to Warwickshire. She discovered an article on the town's bulletin board about the piece of land, took a slip, and the next day went to see it. It had a two-story house, a barn, several sheds, beautiful pastures, and an orchard with many different fruit trees already planted. The moment she stepped foot onto this place, she fell in love.
With the money her mother gave her, she was able to pay the owner right on the spot, and quickly took over. Keeping a stable amount of money was rough, but she was able to sell the fruit on the trees and her mother kept sending a good amount of money once a month to help keep her afloat. Once Cypress got comfortable in her new home, she bought ten dairy cows and six hens to keep bringing income. From there, she began her career as a hard-working and successful farmer.
Her father was assassinated about seven years ago, but all of his money and things went to Alastair and their mother. Their mother died about four years ago due to cancer, and all of her money went to Cypress. Cypress still has the golden locket Alastair gave her, and she enjoys teasing him for his reaction on that day.
